Is it June yet??

I am so over snow and cold. I want to be at the Poly, feeling the warm sunshine on my face while sipping a fruity, girly drink. 140 days!!

Mindy, Don't we all wish! And the drink sounds rather good. I look outside and see snow. It snowed again yesterday, flurried today, and we are supposed to get a snow/ice storm Tuesday into Wednesday. It might be winter forever the way we are going. The little ground hog better tell us spring is coming sooner rather than later if he knows what is good for him. :rotfl:

Hi all! I've been MIA lately. We've done lots of changing to our plans so I'll have to update those later when they are more finalized. Don't want to put too much work on anjalee. :) My oldest daughter was disappointed that we weren't going to do CRT this trip. My mom is such a softy and loves that Tori still believes in the "magic" so she book breakfast for us and is going to surprise Tori with it on her birthday. I think she'll be so excited.

Ok, I've got pages and pages to catch up on. I'll be back. :cool1:

Mary, I've changed plans 5-6 times myself already so you will not hear any complaining on my part. I think your daughter will love CRT again even though she is a little older. I can't wait to take Alana there. It just doesn't make sense at this point. I think 2 is too young this year, but we are doing 1900 for Cinderella. In her words, "Cin-rella.. I love her. I love her!" I know she will enjoy seeing Cinderella no matter where she is..castle or no castle.

Hi everyone. As you can tell I am new to the boards. We are staying at the Polynesian June 6-10. We get out of school June3 that is after 5 snow days..already...now they call them "Act of God Days" and will not make up anymore if we have them:)

I went ahead with 8:35 for dinner @ O'hana, but that may change. I seen somewhere here on the DIS today that Allears.net updated O'hana's menu and they have taken the wings and dumplings off (I hope this isn't true, because I loved both of them.) I was shocked there were already to booked too though! Oh well, that's just life. I can't wait for JUNE!!

I think the changes at 'Ohana are true. I am reading the menu right now posted on allears.net and this is now the updated menu for 'Ohana:

Starters

'Ohana Welcome Bread
Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing

Appetizers/Accompaniments
Pineapple-Coconut Bread
Mixed Greens with Mango-Poppy Seed Dressing
Sweet Golden Pineapple

Skewers
Prepared over an oak fire

Oak Grilled Turkey
Asian Barbecued Pork Loin
Marinated Sirloin Steak
Spicy Grilled Peel - n - Eat Shrimp

Accompaniments
Egg Noodles tossed in a peanut sauce with pineapple
Stir fried vegetables

Dipping Sauces
House Made Peanut Sauce
Chimichurri Sauce
Pineapple Sweet and Sour Sauce

Dessert
'Ohana bread pudding served a la mode with Bananas and Caramel Sauce

Looks like they have gotten rid of the both the pot stickers as well as the chicken wings. I wasn't a fan of the pot stickers but I did like the wings. Oh well.....I do like the fresh pineapple addition! :thumbsup2 And at least the delicious bread pudding is still there!

We recently stayed at POFQ (December '10) and loved it. The renovated rooms (Bldgs 7, 6 & 4) have 2 queen beds and they're gorgeous. The kids got to use the slides one day when the weather went up to 70, I let them play in the pool for an hour and they loved it. I love how small the resort is, but in hindsight, I'd take the bus to POR to use their food court. There's a ton of info on the resorts on portorleans.org

I think you're right about the food court. I wasn't all that impressed with the POFQ food court, and I'd just visited some family over in Pop Century an hour before. Now THAT place has a food court!

POR is scary to me. It's HUGE. When we were going home from DtD, the bus stopped at POR first. And so many passengers were confused by all the different depots. It was also cold and the thought of those who were surely lost... *shiver*. It's beautiful, though! As long as I figure out the right way to get from resort to resort, I'm sure I'll be fine. And isn't it like just a ten minute walk or something like that?

We've done both and prefer Cinderella's Royal Table over Akershus in Epcot hands down. The characters were great in Epcot, but we went for dinner and just did not enjoy the food at all. We love to eat, so that was a deal breaker for us. :rotfl: Also, I think you just can't beat the experience of the castle.

Ohana was one of my favorite dinners last time. I finally got an ADR but now I'm questioning whether I should keep. I like the pot stickers too. Bummer!

I've seen a lot of conflicting information about Ohana. One person called Ohana's directly and they said no change in menu. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Hi June Disers. Just wanted to see my count down.:upsidedow Come on June so ready for some fun in the sun. Although I live in the south and do not see a lot of snow, it sure has been a cold and wet winter. ;) So to all of you who do live in the snow may it melt soon, no more make up snow days to hinder your vacations. :) Thanks Anjalee for this thread love reading everybody's plans. Helps to give me some ideas too!

just a question for those of you flying, have you bought your airline tickets yet. My travel agent said the better deals are released about 3 months in advance so if I can wait to do that. I'm just so nervous that we won't get tickets. That's pretty crazy right? Three months ahead should be enough time to get tickets. I'm hoping we can get a better deal, the prices are a little high right now. :confused3

Our trip is for early June and we booked our flight last month. Your travel agent is probably right looking at past trends, but I, like you, was anxious that we wouldn't be able to get a flight because of the size of our travel group (10). If your party is relatively small, i'd wait per your agent's advice. Luckily for us, we booked through group travel which allows us to make payments or rather not pay all at once so if the prices do go down and there's enough seats at that price for our entire party we'll be able to get the cheaper rate with Southwest.

Both of my kids are very interested in Dinosaurs. My son begged to go on Dinosaur last year even though I thought it would be too scary. He claims it was fine (though he didn't look thrilled when it was over) and wants to do it again this year. My daughter is too young. So question is this..we go to DTD to shop but we don't eat there so is T-Rex worth going to eat if they really think dinosaurs are cool or is it nothing special?

I have been checking out flights for weeks now and they keep getting higher and higher. I think they are about $465/pp out of the local airport. We have decided to drive UNLESS flights come way down. Most other times of the year we are able to find flight under $200/pp.

We won't be bummed if we have to drive. Yes, it's a long drive but we have much more flexibility with our own vehicle down there.

With fuel prices rising and the economy improving, airfare discounts won't be as great this year, unfortunately. So we may have to lock in the fare now. Boo.

We bought our airline tickets through SW back in OCtober for $89/person. I thought it was a good deal to not pass up. The same ticket today is running $144/person so I'm glad i bought them when I did.

To anjalee re: T-rex: We went for the day this past summer (saw the new Toy Story movie & ate at T-rex), my DS4 loved it. But you can walk around & check out the place & shopping area without eating there. We ate in the room where the Pterodactyl is overhead, just past he giant T-rex & we could see into the Ice Cave area, which everyone thought was really neat! Warning: they have a Build-a-Bear type area where you can choose, stuff, & dress toy dinos & we walked with one of those, too:rotfl:. As to the food--not stellar but OK & they have huge appetizers so the girls split the 3 tier sampler & DH & I shared the flatbread pizza & a salad. We had to save room for the "smoking" dessert! I don't remember what it was called but it was brownies & ice cream surrounded by cups of dry ice?:confused3 or something that it made it smoke. I'm sure it was facebooked at the time!

We are driving down June 11 through June 22 staying at Baylake My DD graduates from high school and our neighbors also go with us.We are DVC family

Since I booked & it's now official, I figured I'd post & introduce myself.:wave2

Anyway my family will be staying at the Beach Club 6/17-6/25. We're going for ODS's birthday & it will be the twins' first visit. First time staying in the Epcot resort area & first time driving down. Lot's of firsts this time around. :goodvibes

I feel like I'm soooooo late, I need to get on the ball making a plan & some ADRs! :thumbsup2

My husband just bought our tickets today. We usually fly Southwest, but for our original plans, SW was charging over $1200! I called my husband crying, thinking we wouldn't be able to go. He told me to calm down, that we'd work it out.

And he DID work it out. By switching our arrival to a day earlier, and switching to Airtran, we saved almost $500 on airline fares. Then, we booked an extra night at Port Orleans. Even after Airtran's fees and the extra night at the hotel, we come out ahead $200, AND we get an extra night at Disney. It worked out for the best. :)

Well, except that I don't like Airtran. But knowing that Disney World is at the end of the trip should make it more bearable.

(Have I told you this story before? Can't remember!)
