The all new extension to Tagliarchy Island.

Good morning guys,
Well the holidays are nearly over. Pete has gone to work today, I go back tomorrow :( (although we have 2 teacher training days so our kids don't come back until Monday.) We managed to get the new room almost finished. There are just a few tiny bits and pieces left to do but we can do them in the evenings. I put the cutrains up yesterday which makes it look finished. Today I need to mop the floor amd make sure no extra adhesive has stuck to the tiles and then move the furniture in.

DHSsenior007 I agree the nerds can turn out to be wierd too. My ex boyfriend from school was I guess a nerd but he was quite sweet. We split up before I left for university (which was a good job as that was where I met Pete.) However he still doesn't seem to have grown up. We left university 7 years ago and he still doesn't have a proper job and not a lot to show for his education. The funny thing is that I still occasionally see his parents when I go home to visit and I go over to say hello to them. They know how I have worked hard at my job and have become quite successful in what I do. The last time I saw them his dad turned to his mum and said "You know what, Simon really missed out with Karen didn't he?"!! I thought it was quite funny. The odd thing is though his younger brother who used to mess around at school quite a bit has settled down really well and has become more successful and a better man than his brother!

Oh well, I guess I should get going.

ohanafamily I'm glad your eyes are doing better.

Oh I almost forgot. Could you spare some PD for my friend Bill. He is in Orlando right now at his house (he lost the majority of his roof during Charley which he is fixing along with having to re wire and decorate his whole house due to water damage.) Anyway it looks like huricane Frances might be heading their way. The work should be finished by the weekend as he is due to return home on Saturday but that is when Frances is due to hit so am not sure if he will stay at his house to fix any new damage that might occur or try to get home.

I've just had some great news. My boss just phoned to say we are getting 2 more days holiday!!The builders haven't finished work at the side of the school yet and so we are not allowed to go across the building site for health and safety reasons. Although it sounds great it means we will not have our rooms ready for when the kids come back on Monday. This means things will be manic! Not going to be a great start to the term.

Danauk, PD to your friend, and for your friend "Simon" he lost the best thinkg in his live that could have motivated him.... Glad to hear you have a couple of more days off, might I suggest getting some bins (you can find 20 gallon tubs at our local DIY shops for $4-$5 for a cheapie one) and organize thw supplies in such a way that you can set the room up quickly; it might actually take a lot of prep time, but all of the other teachers will wonder how you got your room set up so quickly.....

 morning..breakfast is over on ther other thread..

DanaUK.. enjoy the extra time.. your deserve the rest after all of your DIY projects..and PD to your friend..

off to work...:wave2:

ohanafamily I'll be OK as my room is ready. At school my nick name is Monica (as in Monica from Friends) as I am so organised and everything has to be done correctly. As a result of this my room was ready at the end of the last term! I went into school 2 days during the first week of the holiday to complete my room and do my planning and photocopying ready for the new year. Quite a few other teachers couldn't be bothered and said it could all wait until the 2 teachers days before the kids came back. I hate leaving things to the last minute which is why I got my things ready ages ago. I guess some of the other teachers will be cursing me on Monday when they are running around!! I'm not that mean though, I will help them out (as they will be running around saying they knew they should have done what I did 6 weeks ago!):p :p

Howdy y'all!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been basking in the freedom of having kids back at school! Can't even tell you I've gotten anything accomplished. Just went back to bed after taking kids to school, read some books, did enough laundry to keep the family clothed, and cooked when I had to. It's my "back to school ritual." For the first few school days, the time between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m is all about ME!!! Then I get back into my regular routine of trying to find constructive things to do to avoid housework. :teeth:

Danauk - Congrats on the two extra days, and on having the classroom ready. It will probably come as no surprise that I would be one of the "last minute crazy" teachers that you would be helping get ready. I work best under pressure, so I always put myself in the last minute position without even knowing I'm doing it.

geffric - I saw the Olympic swimmers are coming to Chicago. Did you see that? They are starting off at WDW and heading across the country and ending up at Disneyland. Oh, and thanks for the virtual breakfast and snacks. Even if I don't post, I always partake of the food! Good thing there are no calories here.

DHSsenior007 - MEN!!!! That's all I have to say! ;)

take care, I'll be back!

Good afternoon everyone!!

Ummmm...nothing new has really happened big to me lately. I talked to this guy that I like for the first time today (yeah, how can I like him if I had never talked to him? I knew he was really smart and decent looking!!) named Tim (yeah, I don't really like the name, but I hate mine, so oh well!!). I don't like Patrick anymore (look at my tag if you have no idea what I'm talking about), so yeah... that's out-dated!! Lol!!

Ummmmm... nothing else has happened though.

Have ya'll seen a picture of hurricane Frances lately??? It's HUGE!!!! Tons of PD to everyone in its path!! ::yes::

3-day weekend coming up!! Yay!!

Yep, just looking at Frances.....wondering if we'll make it there this weekend!?!? Tampa airport isn't expecting to close at this point, but everything is still up in the air. We figure, at the worst we'll just be delayed 24 hours. PixieMagic is the official weather watcher! ::yes::

ibounce I have been watching that too.. PD to a safe flight et al...

We don't even head out to the airport till Sat afternoon....so we'll have a much better idea by then.

I sure hope SHE just blows off to the east and leaves poor Florida alone!!

maybe it will be passed by the time you leave so you won't be in any danger.... ..

ibouncetoo Hurricane Frances  Yep, she's a big'un. Looks like you're in for a more exciting trip than you thought! :smooth: Sending tons of PD that Hurricane Frances doesn't mess up PixieMagic's BIRTHDAY trip....as long as you're both safe....and if you can't make it, at least you know you'll get to go again next month ::yes::

That reminds me of what my parents used to say...only with a different hurricane name.:p

Morning guys,
I hope those who are going to be affected by Frances will be safe.
ibouncetoo you will have to give us a report of WDW after Frances has hit. I pray that everyone there will be OK.
I think I mentioned before about my friend Bill who has a house in Orlando (in Osceola county) who is there right now fixing it after Charley. He has managed to get his roof completed (Charley took 75% of the tiles.) He was supposed to fly home on Friday but is now unsure if he should do that or not. He figures his house might need more work doing to it after the weekend so I think he is planning to stay. He is very smart though and I know he will be prepared and stay safe.
Today I plan to go into work and brave crossing the building site. We have been told we are not allowed in tomorrow. Some of us are going to go in together today to get a few last minute things done for Monday. I said I would go in and help my two friends whos rooms are no where near ready!
I guess I should go and get ready then.
