DHSsenior007 Do you have anything in common that you could just go over and talk to him about? Perhaps homework or things out of school? That way you could become friends first. My first boyfriend from high school I became friends with for years before he became my boyfriend (he even came to my wedding as we stayed friends after we split up!) Perhaps you could first chat about different things you might have in common first. Or perhaps as he is super smart you could ask him for some advice for your homework or a project you are doing. That way you can spend time together and get to know one another.

OK, my news for today. I have to say CARS SUCK!!!! Petes car has been in the garage for a week now. They phone us today to say that the car needs a new engine!!!! I mean it isn't that old!!!! So what do we do? We could either get the car fixed (which we can afford to do from our savings but would be expensive) or get a new car on credit (which we could afford the monthly repayments on.) Basically we put aside some money each month as we know we are going to need new cars, home repairs etc (our Disney holiday fund is in another account!! - I have my priorties!!). We can afford the car repairs out of this fund but don't have enough to buy a new car outright ( cars are really expensive here!!). However we can afford the monthly repayments out of this fund too (the monthly repayments would be equal to the ammount we would put into our savings account.) But I am not too keen on getting in to debt and having to pay for something we have already bought (we only payed off our student debts a few years ago which were totally unavoidable.) So do we pay for the current car to be fixed (which we can afford) or buy a new car on credit (which can also afford but would work out more expensive in the long run?) We were origionally planning to replace the car in 3 years time which we thought good for the age of the car and by then we would have saved up the money to pay for a new one.

To add to my stress this means we won't be able to get the dry wall tomorrow which means we might not have the room finished by the time I go back to work!!

I hope everyone else has had a better day than me!!

On a plus side Petes toe surgery went well and he is OK. He just had to take a few pain killers as the anasthetic was wearing off and had to go to bed a bit early to keep his foot elivate.

Have a good evening all.

Well the day of the Hurricane started off by me and my family waking up. We watched the t.v and found WDW was only open until 1. DTD was closed as well. So we ended up staying in our Villa at the WL the whole day.We watched the weather channel and pixar movies they played repeatedly the whole day. We went to the lobby and ate Roarin Forks a few times. When we were going to eat there for dinner it was closed. They locked up everything and this time forced us to stay in our rooms. My Dad had to try to sneak into the store since it was barely still open. Because of him we were able to eat pizza in our room. The weather was bad rain and strong winds but it wasn't really even noticed. Though by looking out the window you could see the trees swaying and looking like they wanted to fall over!! Luckily we were on the weaker west side of the hurricane path. It may have been a little scary but we knew that we would be okay. So after watching HOURS of the Weather Channel we finally went to bed and woke up to a more peaceful Florida.
Will finish it later because I have to go. Bye.
Had to go to lunch to meet a friend who's moving.

to tuesday.............and the start of school...............catch ya later.

Morning Everyone! Looks like more of the family is off to school this week. I loved the first day of school. Metting the teacher(s), seeing which of your friends you had classes with, which ones you had lunch with. Our high school had split lunch hours....a real bummer if you didn't get the same lunch break as your best pals!

QOTD, which year of high schoole was your 'best'? And for those of you still in that process, which grade of school was the best SO FAR?

Best year of high school was Jr year. Had both art and drama and was in the honors english class. Had so much fun that I didn't miss one day of school that year. Also the 'crush' of that year was someone I actually was allowed to date!

Well, off for my walk and then time to hit the shower. Two weeks from today I'll be waking up at AKL :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: And seven weeks from today the DIVAS will be!

p.s. More please, MonorailDude!

Good morning all!

geffric Thanks for yet another yummy chocolate breakfast! :hyper:

Happy First Day of School! to all those starting today! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

It's Jordan's first day of school too! Fifth Grade....I still can't believe he's THAT old!

ibouncetoo Good QOTD! I'd have to say freshman year because my brother was a senior, a football star and BMOC which made his little sister VERY popular as well.....plus I was elected Head Cheerleader for our Jr. Varsity squad .....sure hope Cheeringmom reads this! ;)

Danauk Glad Pete's toe is doing better and sending more PD for you and your poor car :( I wish I had sound financial car advice to share but I basically buy a new car and drive it til it dies. I had my last Volvo wagon for 14 years and hope my new one lasts that long. Although my new Volvo has all the cool new"bells and whistles" and a sleeker body style, I've got to admit I liked my old wagon better and miss it still. Full of good memories...brought Jordan home from the hospital in it and got Cadbury as a new puppy in it.....I know, TMI  but I'm feeling sentimental as it's the first day of school

Hi All,

Trouble with my eyes today, already called the Dr.

DanaUK How is Pete's Toe? What did you do about the car?

MonorailDude More Story PLEASE!!!!!

:bounce:

ohanafamily So sorry about your eyes :( Is RRBB there to drive you to the Dr's office or has she already left? Be careful and I'm sending PD your way in hopes you're eyes will be better soon! Be sure to check back in and let us know how you're doing......

Good morning all.
We decided to get our car fixed as we could afford that. We are having a new engine in (hopefully the garage will find a reconditioned one for us which will be 2/3 the price of a new one), a new clutch and new radiator. Then the car will be good for another 2 or 3 years until we have saved up enough to get another one. We figured it would cost us more in interest on a car loan to get a new one than it would cost us to get this car fixed. The garage said we were just unlucky and that they have never seen an engine crack like ours has done before.

ohanafamily I hope your eyes get better today and that you were able to get to the doctors OK.

MonorailDude It sounds like you coped well with the huricane. More trip report please.

QOTD: My best year at school had to be my year 10 (when you are 14-15 years old.) I was really involved in my music by then and had the most inspiring teacher in the world for those lessons (I still keep in contact with her today.) Plus I spent a month in Spain on an exchange so I could develop my Spanish speaking, I went on a school trip to Holland and went on another trip for my geography work which was great fun. Plus my PE lessons were great that year. I was chosen to study outdoor persuits which means we went off site every Wednesday afternoon to do outdoor activities. We went skiing, horse riding, sailing, windsurfing, canoing, rafting and learned to do archery amongst other things.

I guess I should go now as we are traveling up to my parents this evening as my mum and I are going for our spa day tomorrow. I need to pack my things and then go do a little more painting in the new room.

Hi all... one more day until school starts... must hold on...must be patient...

QOTD: My senior year.... I had a sweet boyfriend, was co-captain of the Pom-Pon squad, president of my youth group at church, and was making good grades. It all fell apart about mid-year when I found we were moving to TN right after school was out. Still a great school year, just with a black cloud looming...

Kelley wants the computer. Tomorrow it will be mine, all mine, from 7:30 a.m until 3:00 p.m. yee haa!

Talk to y'all later.
