Crabbygal you and CR resort fan are making me wish I had a holiday vacation at Disney instead of having one in May for my birthday. If I didn't go on that Disney cruise back Oct. (although I did get sick with 102.6 fever and diagnosed with strep throat while on the ship) I would have totally done a holiday trip.

I'm so jealous right now

Well eventually your next trip will be coming up, however half the fun is planning what you want to do and etc.

How big are the fridges in the rooms? I want to order some items from garden grocer and didn't know if I could fit a gallon of milk (or fit anything else if I get a gallon of milk).

Just like I said when I was at WDW this past August, since I won't be able to post a live trip report if anyone wants any updates about the Contemporary click e-mail me on my profile and it will go directly to my BlackBerry and I will e-mail you back.

Also incase anyone forgot or will ask this question again I can not access Disboards via my BlackBerry, because my unlimited internet plan does not work while I am in the United States. So if I was to use it then my bill would be very expensive. Plus even if I wanted to post on Disboards via my BlackBerry it's not the best way for me to post, because I tried it once and didn't like it.

Thanks to everyone for all the great info in this thread!:thumbsup2

We just Wednesday booked a very spur of the moment trip for 12/12-12/18! It will be our first time at the Contemporary and we got MK view. We were actually just in WDW in October (stayed at AKL concierge with DVC friends) and that apparently was just enough to whet our appetite for another December trip with low crowds, great weather, and Christmas magic!

I'm not sure how I'll make it through this week at work!!:bounce: This thread is helping, though.

One question---since I'm already inside the 10-day room assignment mark should I even bother calling to add a request for an odd-numbered room to our ressie? Or just take my chances at check-in?

Thanks for ALL the info!

BTW, CR Resort Fan 4 Life, I see our dates overlap. If you see a redhead in a Carolina Hurricanes hat around its probably me. We can commiserate and argue the merits of Taylor Hall vs Tyler Seguin.:sad1:

Well were both checking in on the same day, so maybe it's a good chance we will run into each other. Also I will be wearing my blue Toronto Maple Leafs hat and my lanyard of WDW pins, so that's how you will know it's me.

As for your question if it's really important to have the odd-numbered room I would call and request it, but even if you don't end up with it at least you still have the Magic Kingdom View.

Also Toronto gave up their 1st round pick to Boston in the Phil Kessel trade, so we don't have a chance at getting Taylor Hall vs Tyler Seguin.

Go ahead and request it as the room assigner doesn't assign your room until about 3 days prior to your arrival.

We just returned yesterday from a 6 night stay at the Contemporary. I booked a MK view room for us and a BL view for the rest of my family. We were in room 4629 and the view was like nothing I could have dreamed:goodvibes The only downside was you really could hear Chef Mickeys and celebration time was LOUD. If we were to stay here again I would request a room on the other side. Mousekeeping was great and it was just really a great stay overall. Contempo Cafe was yum-o, Turkey BLT was great!

Any questions I'll be happy to answer!

Thank you so much for your comment and fueling my excitement for our trip next year!

We just returned on Saturday from the WL, we have stayed there the past 3 years and POP several times prior to that, this will be our first stay at CR and I booked the MK view-- I am so looking forward to it, even though it is 349 days away. HA!

Excited to learn more about the CR as I plan for our return to the magic :wizard:

We have booked a MK view room but I never knew there was a difference in the room layouts. Am I correct in believing that the odd numbered rooms have beds that face the balcony while the even numbered rooms have beds that are on the side wall of the room. Do they both have two queen beds and a daybed? We are family of five that have only had a room with the beds on one of the side walls. I'm surprising my family with an upgrade from the garden wing.:banana:

It's not that the beds "face" the balcony. All of the beds have headboards along a "side" wall. But since the Contemporary is at a angle to the castle, the placement of the headboard along the side wall in the odd numbered rooms allows you to lay in bed and see towards the castle. Laying in bed in the even numbered rooms has you seeing out over Seven Seas Lagoon.

Hope that helps.

We stayed on the other side of the same floor and there wasn't much difference as far as noise goes. After about a week of hearing 'Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate!' right at 7am every morning, you're ready for a bit of a break.:rotfl:

:rotfl2: Not sure whether I should be happy if I only get the room in the Garden Wing I've paid for or get a free upgrade to a room with a built in wake up call. :rotfl:

Guess if you are going to actually *live* in the Contemporary, you'd want a higher floor. :wizard:
