I had asked a question on another thread about what people typically eat for breakfast foods in their room, and one poster mentioned that at the WL, she requested a toaster and got one! Has anyone heard of this at the CR? Would you note this on your reservation?

Until now I have not read of others requesting a toaster or didn't even know that could be done. However worst case scenario you end up using the one at the Contempo Cafe if you request one and they don't have any available.

We leave TX tomorrow morning for a four night stay at the Contemporary. This will be our third time at the hotel. This definitely feels like "home" to us. We stayed at the Poly on a different trip and it just never felt right. We love the convenience of everything all in one building. Also, we love our theme park view and wouldn't ever consider staying anywhere else. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

Thanks for the report Mary! We got a nice deal on concierge level rooms and just today booked one for the first time for next November. Anniversary trip coming up next week...can't wait to walk into that special lobby!

Thanks for the trip report and I think there is a solution if the cards don't work in the elevator. This past August sometimes the 12th floor would not light up in one of the elevators, however we were told by a Club Level Cast Members when that happens after instering the card then press the button for either the 12th or 14th floor. Well after trying that it worked, so maybe the problems are not always with the cards.

Towards the end of the trip, the CMs said the elevators were messed up. The worst elevator was the 2nd one in from the left when facing the wall of 4 elevators. Then the other one that's in the corner on the opposite side started giving me trouble. The one CM said we needed to avoid that 2nd elevator and I said that the elevators need fixed - we should be able to ride all the elevators and not worry about the key access.

Just an inconvienence.,.. and I've never had any trouble in all of my previous trips like I did on this one with my card. My card was dead - I couldn't even get into our room, and I had trouble getting into the parks too... at first we blamed the cold front that went thru, but then it became apparent that the CR elevators need work.

Hopefully you will have better luck than I did!

Oh what a magical day I have had! First, I logged onto disneystore.com and did my daily search for the Contemporary monorail playset add on, and for the first time in almost six months, they had it! It will be here in time for Christmas, and I couldn't be more excited!

Then, I got home from work 15 mins ago and found an email from Disney Destinations...my heart pounded, I opened it up, and found the 40% off pin code! I am waiting to hear from my travel agent to see if I can use it on my upcoming February trip. In the meantime, I am pondering upgrading to BLT and getting a one bedroom villa. I would really love that whirlpool and more cooking options while we're there. I know a few of you on here have stayed at both. For a mom and a four year old, which one would be better? Does either one have a better view of castle/fireworks than the other, or are they the same? BLT has a zero entry pool right? How long does it take to walk from the BLT to get to the monorail and the Contempo Cafe? Do you feel like you miss out not having the monorail running through? Anything else you can think of? Any advice you can offer would be great! Also, do you get housekeeping at BLT? TIA in advance, let's hope I can use this discount

Well, after all my excitement over my 40% off code, it seems that the 4/3 deal is actually better! So I am still CR bound, loving it, and getting soooooo excited! DD and I have had a countdown board up of Mickey heads from Home Depot for about five weeks now and we're down to I think 74 days...December will fly by, but boy will January and February drag...especially if we are socked with more snowstorms like the doozy we had today!

I am glad that some of you are coming back with trip reports and especially pictures! It will fuel my excitement until I get there. Thanks everyone for sharing! (especially that pic of the monorail display tree...when I saw the Contemporary playset on the tree with the monorail going through it, I caught my breath because my CR playset just shipped out today and I'll have it in time for Christmas!)

I asked the same question and what people told me worked:

Go to WDW reservations site, and do a search for two different hotels on the dates you wish to travel. Save your resort choices. Within a week, I got an email from Disney Destinations with the 40% pin code. It doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me! Give it a shot, and let us know how it goes!

Thank you and like I said earlier we also had an issue with the elevators and our KTTW cards back in August, although if they didn't tell you to press the button for the 12th floor then I guess what you went through was different.
