Thankyou for that, all sounds very yummy! ;)

Can there be a "bad" view of the MK from the CR tower view? I can't figure out the orientation of the hotel exactly from pictures and I'm wondering if you can be in a MK view but BARELY be able to see it....any insight?

In the past I have had a Magic Kingdom View as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor, well I can honestly say I didn't notice a difference in how the view looked. Plus the rooms have been in different sections of the Tower. For example sometimes the actual location of the rooms have been at the very end towards the Magic Kingdom, somewhere in the middle and at the other end closer to the TTC.

Agreed!! Heading there on Saturday, and as much as I would LOVE a room as high as possible, it really doesn't matter because the view is spectacular (altho I prefer being in rooms closer to the MK side as opposed to rooms that look over the Convention Center).:thumbsup2

Hey CR fans! Getting down to the wire here and just want to make sure I get this right regarding rooms in the Tower ( I want to be prepared at the front desk)! LOL!!

Bay Lake side rooms end in 01 to 24, and MK view rooms end in 25 to 48, right? And 48 is closest to the MK, yes? TIA!!:thumbsup2

That is correct. In fact during our first stay at the Contemporary in May 1998 I remember our room on the 12th floor was room #4848, so we were as close as possible to the Magic Kingdom.

I WANT THAT ROOM!!!!LOL!!! Actually, tried for 12th floor but no avail....will be asking at check in tomorrow!! Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Personally I never found the noise from the buses to be annoying and etc, so that's just my opinion.

Now the last few times we stayed at the Contemporary it was with the Bay Lake View, although since we also stayed Club Level we could see the Magic Kingdom anytime we wanted from the lounge. So for us it was the best of both worlds.

Finally the last time our room happened to be located in between the Contempo Cafe and Chef Mickey's, which was more over the Contempo Cafe and not once did we hear anything from Chef Mickey's. Plus during that time WDWKOOK was staying in the room next to us, although I am not sure if she thought as I did when it came to that.
It definitely is a matter of personal preference. I just wanted to put the warning out there. I never gave it a thought that all the MK buses would be passing right in front of the hotel, even though I've been there a ton of times and should have known better.

Those rooms cost a lot of money for that view, and IMHO, people should know about the bus noise and decide for themselves.

As for CM, it was not a bother at all. The noise was related to how excited the guests were and most often, we didn't hear anything either.

Twice we've been lucky and recieved the lake front rooms at the end of the garden wing and really enjoyed that view. I think we will also prefer the Tower lake view.

We had CR tower MK view on 12th floor atrium club level, farthest room from MK, closest to convention center & over Contempo Cafe. We had no problem seeing MK. The fireworks were in front of our room & I could see Cindy's castle perfectly from my bed! We couldn't hear any noise from buses for Chef Mickey's.

We're thinking of changing our 3 night DCL this fall to a CR stay (after our 4 night DCL). We enjoyed the MK view we had at CR in 2006, and are talking about returning here. If we decide to do tower lake view instead of MK view, is there a common area to view the MK from? I don't recall: can you use the observation deck if you don't have ressies at CG?

Thanks.

You can always look at the Magic Kingdom and watch Wishes from their 4th floor observation deck, which is located just past the Fantasia Market.

Yes it's also true that to see it from the California Grill you need to have an ADR.

While we are the topic of rooms. I just moved from CL at CR and am in the main tower, standard room with MK view. Can anyone show me pics or recommend a room that you have loved?

I'm not sure if I want a room on the first floor now or a room that is up higher. Are there advantages to a patio vs a balcony. I hope I've made the right decision. Not ever being there before (our first trip) I'm weighing a lot of what you have to say heavily in my decision making.

In the Tower the Magic Kingdom View rooms start from the 6th floor and go to the 11th floor, plus all their rooms come with a balcony. Also the Tower doesn't have any rooms on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th floors. So that means you won't get a patio, those only come with the 1st floor of the Garden Wing rooms.

Besides that all their rooms are the same exact design and in my opinion the view looks the same no matter where the room is located. However here is a link to pictures of their rooms if you haven't seen them before and what the Magic Kingdom View looks like.
