To continue:
I enjoyed the size of these rooms. Wow! It felt like it was a mile to the bathroom in the wee hours. We had the two queens, and the full-size futon like bed. The kids each had thier own beds, while we had a size similar to what we use at home. I'm not sure we can go back to a value sized room anymore.
The dressers were adequate for a family of 3. We needed perhaps another few drawers, for my clothes to fit. With the suitcase stand, I set up a suitcase next to the TV. I lived out of it for the week, and we brought along some laundry bags so we weren't leaving piles around the floor.
We found that we perhaps could have used some more cubbies or shelves, but we made what did exist, work for us. I would have liked a second chair in the room.
The bathroom sinks were a little odd. They drained poorly, and you had to be careful to clean it out, to make sure nothing stayed behind. I usually used a glass and splashed around the water. The shower head was tall enought for me (6'1") to use with only minor adjustments. The toilet had a loud vacuum-like flush, but with both doors closed, it did not make enough noise to wake anyone.
The elevators were fast. My wife had one complaint about them, and that was you couldn't take the main elevators right to the monorails. I explained why this would not be feasible.
The cafe was OK. We had lunch there only one day, and it was OK. We mostly ate breakfast, and then usually dine-n-dash. However, I enjoyed the pressed sandwhich for breakfast, while the kids liked the platter. We paid out of pocket for these meals usually, and most of the time it was about $32.00, for 4 meals, and some beverages. We did not parake of the mugs, as we only ate one meal in the cafe each day, and did not return to the hotel until late in the evening most days.
We did not sample the Wave or California Grill. We did eat at Chef Mickey's one night, but this was planned ahead of time. Had we stayed elsewhere, Chef's would still have been in our plans.
We did spend part of one day at the pool. My DD loved the play area, and my DS liked the slide. I thought it was too short, but hey, they had one. The lifeguards were plentiful, and seemed to genuinely enjoy thier jobs. I did not try the spa/hot tub. The common pool was a perfect size for my DS & DD, to practice their swimming, without any fear of sinking too deep. Of course, that means it was a bit short for us taller folk, but it worked for me.
We were initially confused about which shop to pick up our purchases from. Bay View Gifts is the store, not Fantasia, for anyone who wants to know.
That's about it. I will have to get a full TR done later, as I must download the 1600+ pics from the camera, and then shrink them down a bit to be posted. Then I need to actually write the report. TTFN!
