We called housekeeping and requested turn down last year and received it each night. We stayed in a wing. HTH!

Last August, I requested turn down service when we checked in.
I thought the kids would enjoy a chocolate and it would be nice to come back to a "refreshed" room.
They came by every night. One time we were in the room because my DD was ill. I apologized and told the CM mousekeeper that I forgot to call to let them know we did not need it.
She was so sweet- she said no problem and gave us a handful of chocolates.
I really love the Contemporary!

Do you happen to remember how long ago it was at those Deluxe Resorts?
This is from tinkerbell60's Post #537 on the previous page:

We also received turn down (non club level) at the GF in 2006, the Yacht Club in 2007 and possibly the BWI in 2008

Going back and reading my journals the last time I can find a mention of turn down without CL is 2003 and we stayed at Poly.

Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers a mouth-watering buffet at breakfast and dinner. Prices are $15-$29.99 per person. The spread is seasonal and don’t be surprised if a few of your favorite Disney characters show up to say hello and sign autographs. The Disney culinary team shared this recipe for Roasted Garlic and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes from the buffet with readers of the Orlando Sentinel’s Cooking & Eating section in 2006.

Chef Mickey’s Roasted Garlic and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes
Yield: 6 servings.

3 pounds whole potatoes (peeled and cut into 1/2-by-1/2-inch cubes)
2 cups half-and-half
4 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup roasted garlic puree (see note)
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

1. Boil potatoes until soft and easy to mash. Drain potatoes and return to cooking pot.
2. Heat half-and-half in small pan and add to potatoes.
3. Begin mixing potatoes with a whisk or handheld mixer and add in the cheese, butter and garlic puree. Continue mixing until smooth and creamy.
4. Add the salt and pepper to the mix.

Roasted garlic puree: Heat oven to 350 F. Toss 1/3 cup whole peeled garlic in 1 tablespoon olive oil and spread out in a shallow baking pan. Place pan in oven and roast until the garlic is soft, 10 minutes. Remove pan and place roasted garlic in blender. Pulse garlic until it becomes rich and creamy. Remove from blender and reserve for mashed potato recipe. Makes 1/4 cup.

Is there a changing facility by the pool at CR??

We were hoping to use the pool on check out day but can't seem to find out if they have a place to change/shower off.

When we stayed at the ASMu there was a changing facility in the bathrooms w/ showers. It was by the laundry room.

Thanks

They have a changing facility, however I can not remember if it also includes a shower.

We're goin back! Yea!
We are going to be staying at the Contemporary after our cruise in July. We decided to book the CL Bay Lake view again. We choose this view because we like the peacefulness of the lake and we like to see the pool. We watch the fireworks from the CL lounge balcony, anyway. Can't wait!

That's what we did last year since we had a late flight. Went to MK in the morning, came back and got our carryons, swam, and then showered before getting back on ME to the airport.

Yes--there's a shower(only one in the ladies' room--I'd have to ask DH about the men's, but there's at least one). Last July all we got was COLD water. brrr!

Exactly what I wanted to know. I really don't care so much about the shower, I know we will shower in the am before check out, but really just needed the changing room info.

Thanks!

We plan on the same thing - MK - swim - ME!!

I hope you have a great time. :thumbsup2

I called today and changed our room only std atrium club to a myw package and was able to upgrade to theme park view for $50 more per night. Paid everything in full since I'm within the 45 days now. Here's where things get strange... I went on the website and looekd up my new reservation number, things are looking good, till I get to room catagory and it says .....2 bedroom villa! WTH? I called and the guest services rep confirms my tpv cl. Which should I believe? I mean, we really want tower but if I do have the villa, that's a heck of an upgrade.

Before my family and I switched to the 4/3 deal in August 2009 we originally had a Atrium Club - Magic Kingdom View room only reservation and when I went to look it up online it also said we reserved a 2 Bedroom Villa. However our e-mailed confirmation was correct and just to be sure I called CRO and they told me the same thing, so you don't have to worry because myself and others also noticed this mistake which WDW has not fixed yet.
