~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

Hi ladies! Mind if I join you?? I'm newish to disboards, we just finished planning our first WDW trip for September, I didn't even notice the Community Boards until today! I'm sooo happy to see that there's an After-Twilight Bookclub! I'm twilight obsessed, and have fallen in love with this genre. I've actually read all 55 pages of this thread today, and joined goodreads and have a HUGE list of other books to read now!

My favorites seem to be your guys' favs too; Hunger Games, Vampire Academy, House of Night (which I agree, I loved at first but it's starting to get old), Mortal Instruments, Evernight, The Immortals, Fallen, Wolves of mercy Falls, Darkest Powers... A couple others that I don't think I saw mentioned here that I love are Carrie Jones' Need series and the Dark Divine series.

Anywho, just wanted to say hi! Oh, and my username on good reads is sahmoffour (name is Amanda) if anyone would like to add me! :)

Welcome Amanda! I'll add you on Goodreads, I'm caribbeanprincess and my name is Laura. Have fun here! :goodvibes

BTW, Borders still hasn't gotten City of Fallen Angels... :sad1:

Added you! I have The Gathering on order (the first in Kelley Armstrongs' Darness Rising seris), is it a spinoff of Darkest Powers? From the description it sounds like a whole new series but I would love it if she included some of the old characters, especially Derek and Chloe! I also have the 4th Mortal Instruments series on order too, I'm crossing my fingers they're in today!! I'm anxious to read The Gathering, I think I might hold off on the 4th Mortal Instruments though. I'm weird whereas I can't read the next installment in a series until I re-read the entire series first lol. And I dont' feel like re-reading the whole Mortal Instruments series right now, I'm anxious to read something new!

I'll have to take a look at the Jeanine Frost series if a couple people are recommending it for sure!

I've already added the Trylle series as well as the My Blood approves series on Good reads, they definitely look interesting. I'm so excited to have found that (and this) site and now I have 108 boook in my to-read list! :cloud9:

Yes, the Gathering is a spin of off The Darkest Powers!!! I am not sure what characters will make an appearance but the first few chapters are up on Kelly Armstrong's website!

At first I loved Amanda Hockings My Blood Approves series, the first couple of books were great, then it just died out for me. But they are still worth the read. Her Trylle series is fantastic! I really loved it and it was a perfect YA series, IMHO.

I saw that. When I realized that we weren't friends I thought it was crazy.:goodvibes

I thought the same thing!

Lowie, I am at the half way point in Lover Unleashed and already I totally get what you were saying and I agree! If this is suppose to be Payne and Mannys book you sure could have fooled me! I have never been a fan of Jane and I like V enough but he already had his book! I also feel like Payne seems so different from how she was when previously mentioned. I use to not be able to put these books down and finish quickly. This is the longest it has ever taken me and I find myself not really interested and I hate that because I love the brothers! At this point I just want to finish it so I can start City of Fallen Angels!

I know, this is the second time this has happened in the last few weeks. Dark and Hollow Places arrived almost 2 weeks late.

I have pre-ordered from Border's to pick up in the store. The stores supply of them came in but we waited for nearly two weeks for it to come in. I will not ever pre-order for them again.

I neve pre-ordered from them, I just pick up on release date. One of the employees explained yesterday that they changed shipping companies from UPS to USPS and that's why the orders were being delayed, USPS service here is horrible.

I tend to think that when you are shipping USPS is pretty bad here too. I hope they get it soon.

bump!! I LOVE this thread and have gotten so many great recommendations, keep it going ladies!

Also, I just finished Divergent by Veronica Roth. SOOOOOOOOOOO Good! Seriously, I read the whole thing in a day, I just couldn't put it down! Right before it I read The Forest of Hands and Teeth series, and loved that as well! Does anyone have any recommendations for books that are like either of those? Futuristic/Dystopian type books?

Have you read the Hunger Games series? And one of my absolute favorite books ever is Swan Song by Robert R McCammon, this is a wonderful Dystopian type novel, it is really long but it is a great book.

Mind if I resurrect this thread?

Wow, what happened to this thread??? I can't believe it's been so long since the last post!

Well I came here in search of someone to talk to about the new Black Dagger Brotherhood book that was just released called Lover Reborn. I just finished it and it was a emotional roller coaster! Anyone here read it yet?

So many books so little time but I have been trying to keep up! Recently I finished the latest Lords of the Underworld book, Paris's book and I liked it even though I had my issues with the lead female character.

Anyone here reading or heard about the book Fifty Shades of Grey? It seems to be everywhere & really popular. Wondering if it's worth a try?

Seeing this was a flash from the past. Sorry I haven't read either. I have heard of Fifty Shades Of Grey but not read it. I got hooked on Kim Harrison's The Hollows. Plus I am now reading the Game of Thrones series.

I enjoy the show Game of Thrones but haven't tried the books. The show was really hard for me to follow with all the different characters and families. Is it difficult in the book? Are you enjoying it?

I'll have to look into The Hollows!

I am reading the first book right now and I am enjoying it. My only complaint would be that it seems like every chapter it flips back and forth between characters.

The first book in that series is Dead Witch Walking. I downloaded a sample to read on my Nook and I was hooked on that little bit. It was so funny I was laughing so loud my husband decided he needed to read the series too. He has enjoyed it too.

Have you read Richelle Mead's Succubus series?

Yes I have read the Succubus series, just not the last book. It's a really good series you should give it a try! I'm going to check out the book Dead Witch Walking!

It's so hard for me to keep up with all the good books & series I like because I have been doing some of my own writting! :)

I have read all of them. I loved the series, I held off a slong as I could with the last one. I didn't want to see the series end.

Definitely check out Dead Witch Walking. When you do Jenk's is my favorite character.

Are you? I have been trying to write myself. It is kind of relaxing.

Crazy!! Havent seen this thread in eons!!!

I just finished the game of thrones series. Love the show.:lovestruc It's written in the first person and kind of makes a circuit of who's story you get to see, and it does bounce in time and place. I liked it though.

In the book version it has the houses of everyone and their people, listed in the back. In the kindle it was a little harder to be able to look at since it was at the end :)

Off to add some of your selections to my to read list :)

I bet the back of the Nook version is the same. I got hooked on the series and that is what prompted me to read it.

Enjoy!!

Most Likely . I got to the end of the first book and was well that would have done me some good about 1000 pages ago. My sister has the paperbacks and told me she knew about them. It would also be nice to look at the map from time to time. Cant wait for the 2nd season to start!
