~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

Anyone read any Christine Feehan books? Her name keeps popping up while I'm browsing on Amazon, but she has so many out I don't know where to begin.

I have heard about her and heard her books were good. I have not tried any yet.

I get most of my book suggestions from the message boards on J R Ward's website. There are 2 particular threads, "the adult bookstore" and "the library". Both have great suggestions and reviews on books in the paranormal/fantasy/romance genre. Also there are threads for specific series of books like the Lords of the Underworld books. Plus J R Ward posts there too! It's a great site for BDB fans!

I just finished reading the latest installment for the Demonica Series, Ecstacy Unveiled, by Larissa Ione. It was GREAT!!!!! I had been waiting for it for what seemed like forever. After reading the first 3 books in the series I was so hooked! This one didn't disappoint! Now I have another long wait because the 5th book doesn't come out till Sept. 2010! This is one series I will definitely reread, that's how good it is. Also, it has a lot going on so I am sure I missed some things while I read them the 1st time. I would highly recommend this series to any Black Dagger Brotherhood fans.:thumbsup2

I Love Christine Feehan! I have most of her books. Be sure you are starting with the first one though. Her writing seems similiar to Sherrilyn Kenyon IMO>

I just finished a pretty good book called Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I read it in two sittings which, for me, is a good thing as it kept my interest.

It's a YA romance wrapped around a werewolf story. CP, I think you will like it. I'm intersted to know what you think.

Here is the goodreads page about the book. There are some reviews by readers on that page so I'll let you read those instead of mine because mine sucks. lol

Happy Reading!

Also, I listened to a cute younger YA book called The Reformed Vampire Support Group... I liked it. It's definitely for younger audiences but it has a unique plot line and the reader (for book on CD) was Australian and fun to listen to.

The vampires in this story are NOT typical. They're "real."

on another note...

BEWARE:

This book STINKS... I mean it's bad. Pee-Ewe

I'm listening to it in the car and I'm going to finish it as I have to for some reason but let me tell you, it's bad. I keep scowling and grimacing and shaking my head the whole time. Blech.

Oh thank you, I had kind of wanted to read this. I'll scratch it from my list then.

I finally finished reading Tempted. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would.

However, I finally got a hold of Stargazer, the second part of the Evernight series and I'm in love again! :cloud9:

I started Evernight but was bored with it. Does it get better? Is it as much fun as HoN or VA? Those are my two favorite of the "boarding school" genre

Hey girl :goodvibes

:wave2: Hi there!!

I started Evernight but was bored with it. Does it get better? Is it as much fun as HoN or VA? Those are my two favorite of the "boarding school" genre

Evernight gets more interesting near the end, the beginning is kind of the set up. Stargazer though was great, I couldn't put it down! Hourglass, the third book, comes out March 9.

I just finished that one, so now I'm on to Gone, the third book in the Wake series.

Did you get my recommendation about the Shiver book?

I also really like the Demonica Series by Larissa Ione. So far there are 3 books in that series with a forth coming out at the end of the month.

i just got the three at my local used book store :banana: the last one showed three other books already available in the series. can you tell me the reading order?

i just started 'first drop of crimson' which is an offshoot of the night huntress series by jeaniene frost. so far i'm only about 30 pages in but i like it. i think i'd be lost if i hadn't read the rest of the books though. there's a lot of name dropping from those books that is important to the story. my one (silly) complaint is that i think the guy on the cover is u.g.l.y.!! whoever thought he'd make a hot vampire needs to have their eyes checked.

Yeah, I know you didn't ask me about the Demonica books;), but I just read the first one and really liked it. The first couple of chapters I was a little put off, but the story was really good. 1. Pleasure Unbound 2. Desire Unchained 3. Passion Unleashed 4. Ecstasy Unveiled

Seriously authors, how are we supposed to keep up with the order of all these books! And so many of my paranormal romance series are starting to run together. Lords. Brothers. Immortals. Oh my!

Now, what is the order of books on the Night Huntress Books? Drops of Crimson looked good, but when I saw that it was a sequel series I knew I better read the first part. I enjoyed JR Ward's Covet so much better because I knew the Black Dagger Brotherhood characters that were mentioned!

i forgot the order of the night huntress books so i googled it and got this:
1. Halfway to the Grave
2. One Foot in the Grave
3. At Graves End
4. Destined for an Early Grave

i have to say that although i liked covet, i didn't LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Sorry I haven't been on this thread to answer the questions about the book order for the Demonica series and the Night huntress series! But, it looks like they have been posted already.:thumbsup2

As for the First Drop of Crimson Cover :scared1: That is NOT how I pictured Spade. That guy is ugly and I was so put off by the cover! I liked the book but liked the Night Huntress Series better. I am really looking forward to Ian's book though!

I have been reading the Nightwalker Series by Jackquelyn Frank. The first book is Jacob. I am really enjoying them, they get better and better as the series goes on.

Also I read a YA series by Kelly Armstrong called the Darkest Powers Trilogy. The first book is The Summoning, then The Awakening, and the 3rd book The Reckoning comes out this April. Very good paranormal YA book. I actually was hooked after the 1st one and had to run out and get the 2nd! Kelly Armstrong usually writes paranormal romance books and has the Women of the Underworld series. The first book is Bitten. I have read that one but not the others. The story from that book is lightly touched on in the 2nd Darkest powers book, I thought that was cool. Basically it's the same world, but different characters. No need to read that series if you want to just read the Darkest Powers Series.

I also just finished Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I really don't know how I feel about this book. It's a great premise, I was really into it and read it in half a day, but afterwards I was confused. I don't know, the main character annoyed me a bit. Just her actions sometimes didn't fit with who the author was trying to portray her to be. I will probably read the 2nd book due out this year just to see if the writing is better because it really is a cool premise with fallen angels.

I am in the middle of reading The Graveyard book but can't seem to get through it. These other books keep grabbing my attention away from it!

i read "intertwined" by gina showalter this week.. A YA book. i don't know why but when i saw the book it called to me. i just had a feeling that i'd love it. the premise seemed very interesting. a young guy with 4 souls in his body. i really thought there would be more interaction within his mind but it isn't the forefront of the book.

i can see how she is going to expand the series to focus a bit on each soul but i don't think i'd buy the other books.

there were just too many characters in this book. too darn much going on. i did cry twice so i'll give it a thumbs up for that. i'll let my dd read it though, she'll probably enjoy it.

i also finished first drop of crimson.. i ended up really liking spade although the picture on the cover totally threw me off. there was a alot of detail in the story but i think readers would be confused if they didn't read the night huntress series first.

hey, i saw that Lara Adrian came out with another Breed book.. I'm so hitting Borders for that tomorrow!

Ok, if you want some books that are similar to the Twilight series which I have recently red, then here you go.
1. City of Bones
2. City of Ashes
3. City of Glass

They are AMAZING!
City of Fallen Angles is coming up in 2011.

Totally agree! The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare is fantastic! Also there is another series coming out called Infernal Devices, the first book is The Clockwork Angel. These books go back to the beginning so we learn more about the shodowhunters! This comes out in August 2010!!! I can't wait but am so bummed I have to wait till 2011 for the next story in the Mortal Instruments series. The next one focuses more on Simon but all the characters will be in it!

I have Intertwined on my to reads list. Since I love Gena Showalter I figured I would love this book too even though it is a YA book from her. Now I am not so sure I will give it a try. Maybe I will see if my library has it.......

Currently I am reading "Elijah" in the Nightwalkers Series by Jackquelyn Frank. It's the 3rd book in this series. So far it's very good!:thumbsup2

Hey ladies! I haven't been on this thread in SO long (I actually haven't been on the DIS much at all lately.)

I've been reading Harry Potter for the past few months & am about to finish Deathly Hallows (about 83 pages to go!) I'm very late to the party, but I must say, the entire Harry Potter series is fantastic. Honestly, they some of the best books I have ever read. JK Rowling is a truly incredible writer. I'm already predicting tears when I finish DH because it will be such a let down to know that I won't have any more books in the series to read.

I'm trying to figure out what to read next. The Host? Hunger Games? City of Bones? Any suggestions? I have a huge list on good reads, but I can't figure out which book out of the dozens should be next.

Desnik - super cute picture in your sig! You looked lovely (and so happy!) for your VR :flower3:

Thank you so much for the compliment!:goodvibes

Ahhh Harry Potter:cloud9: Really on of the best series ever! J K Rowling is a genius!

My vote would be read City of Bones next! Or, The Hunger Games, that one has gotten so many great reviews. Everyone I know has read it and loved it. So, I promised my sister I am going to start reading that next!
