~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

House of Night start out good in the first book, but then it went downhill from there. It's just TOO long. VA has a better plot and better characters all together, plus it's just different.

Speaking about HON, I bought Tempted a week ago, haven't read it yet though. I'm not expecting much...

Cannot wait! :worship:

Thanks for posting this!! I can't wait either!! There are so many good books coming out in 2010!!!

Has anyone read midnight sun on stephenie meyers website yet?!

I read it, when "she" first posted it; I love it and would definitly be interested in buying it when she publishes it!

I got Tempted from the library and started it last night. if i read 'easy peasy' one more time i may just hang myself. so far i'm NOT impressed.. in fact the only reason i'm reading it now is because it's a library book, i have so many more ready to go.

IDK why I got it, I lost interest after the last book. But once I start a series I just have to finish it so...

Ok, can someone summarize HON Hunted for me? I'm about to start Tempted and I cannot remember what happened in the previous book and can't find a summary online.

the first few chapters will spark your memory, it's a continuation of the last night of the last book with lots of past info. it bored the heck out of me... i hate when authors do that.

We're all waiting for that one to perhaps someday be finished!:cheer2:

I tried reading Marked (House of Night) and could not get past the first few chapters. Glad to know I'm not missing too much.

I've finished all the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. Loved them all! Zsadist and Rhage where my favorites. Phury's book was the slowest for me.

Now I need something new to read. I'm thinking either Covet from JR Ward or the first book of the Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole. Any opinions?

get the lara adrian midnight breed series.. seriously awesome!

Covet was great and you will love it!

I am now reading Immortals After Dark. I am waiting for the 4th book to arrive. It's a really good series. The 1st book is a short story and can be found in "Playing Easy To Get".

I think I like the Lords of the Underworld series better and it is more like the BDB books. They are really great.

Another good series is the Atlantis Series by Gena Showalter.

I also really enjoyed the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead(author of Vampire Academy which I loved!) and her Dark Swan series. Both were really good, page turners and interesting stories. Some LOL moments too. Especially in the Georgina Kincaid series.

The Night Huntress seriess by Jeaniene Frost was really great too!

So many books, so little time, and money!:lmao: I just placed another order to Barnes and Noble for 5 more books.

I tried reading The Uglies but couldn't get into it.

I still enjoy the HON books. I finished Tempted the day before yesterday. They aren't the most well written books, but I live near Tulsa and they are super easy to read. I want to know what happens with Kalona, etc.

Kiss of Midnight is the first book, right? I got it as a freebie on the Kindle. I'll try this one next then. Thanks!!
that's how i got it too, loved it so much bought the series

i loved covet, but not nearly as much as i loved BDB.

i forgot about the Night Huntress series, it was awesome!

The book before Tempted was pretty bad, IMO but..like others, I will probably finish the series.

I've heard of these authors. My DMIL works for the library (as a volunteer) by running a book selling distribution for htem on Amazon so I get books coming out my ears which is lucky for me but I've sorta toned down my reading lately. I ran into a long series of duds.

I just started listening to a book called "Bloody Jack" and it was really good. It's not vampish at all but I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the reader, especially. I was laughing, crying, clapping, and all kinds of stuff. It's a great listen.

I still enjoy the HON books. I finished Tempted the day before yesterday. They aren't the most well written books, but I live near Tulsa and they are super easy to read. I want to know what happens with Kalona, etc.

The first HON book cracked me up so much! I just loved laughing out loud while reading it. Then it got on my nerves a PINCH. Have you tried the VA books? I like them but not nearly as much as CP. I have some issues with the "ideals" lol The last book really irritated me. Ah well.

DID ANYBODY READ VAMPIRE DIARIES? The TV series was good the first few episodes (as it reminded me of Edward and gave me my Twilight fix but then NO THANK YOU. Lame, lame, lame and violent.

i haven't read them but i think i own them... hahaha, i'm not 100% sure though. i watched a few minutes of one episode but since i don't really watch TV i turned it off.

I also heard the Vampire Diaries books were bad! I often make my 17 year old sister read the YA books before I do just so I don't waist my time. We have the same taste in books. Anyway from what I have heard, read and been told by my sister the books are nothing like the show. Basically everything that stunk about the books was made better when writing the show. I have to admit I am obsessed with the show! It is so great and I love every minute of it!! My sis and I will text back and forth while watching it cause it is so good I just have to share it with someone while watching!!:lmao: Please give it another chance! Yes it does have some similarities to Twilight, but very few. There are so many twists and turns and I can't wait to see what happens next! I believe next week is a marathon with 2 episodes on every night. Then new episodes will be back in Jan.

My Barnes and Noble order is due to arrive today and I can't wait!!! I am dying to read the 4th book to the Immortals After Dark Series! Let me just add that the books I mentioned in my previous post are adult books! What can I say, I like my vampire books steamy!!;)

Anyone here read The Lovely Bones? My sister bought it for me. I have been putting off reading it because I know it will probably make me cry and get all emotional! I do want to read it before the movie is out. It's just a totally different book than what I usually read.

Get out the tissues! I sobbed when I read that one.
