~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

Thanks for posting that link! I didn't even think of going there to see if there were others obsessed with the BDB. Holy cow the pic of Zsadist is sooooo good! He is so hot!!! Also, Beckham as Rehv. I would just jump through the screen!:lmao:

hmph! i tried registering for the site and it says i am permanently banned (by my IP). i don't get it, i've never even been to that website before!:scared:

Oooh that's a good one of Rhage ..fanning myself.:lovestruc
There's multiple threads of this series on Twilightmoms-here is their pictures of the guys from BDB
http://www.twilightmomsforums.com/black-dagger-brotherhood-part-6-t27335.html

I just started book three with Zsadist-he's not my favorite but I like the book so far. I just finished the second MI book and reading between the lines on your posts, I'm thinking I found some clues that book 3 will fix my issues with this series! Or should I say issue....

When are you gonna read book 3? I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas!

oh. my. word. those pics are... wow... ::going to take cold shower::

i started and finished "dead and gone" from the sookie stackhouse series last night. :sad2: i'm not impressed. in fact i'm sad i paid money for it on kindle. to me it is the same old story, sookie get called by the vampires, people are killed, hijinks ensue. some of the books in that series i really liked but this one really disappointed me.

Hijinks ensue :lmao:

OME I am so going to have to read that darn BDB book. *sigh* I'm a fan of the Phury Guy.... YUmmm.. ever since MI I've had a thing about the blondes. LOL

Oh ya... also, I hated Sawyer (from Lost) cause of his long hair.. then I accidently caught him on an episode of "Angel" and Sawyer was in it and looking HOT HOT HOT... so now the butt - chin blonde thing is totally working for me. I'm so fickle!

TM is way too uptight. They constatly move threads and are very difficult to follow, IMO. They do get the news though! Oh yes, they do.

OMG! How did that happen?:confused3 I would email them, maybe something is wrong. It is a great site.

i tried emailing them but the email got kicked back to me that it was an email address that wasn't monitored, that i should go back and ask my question at the forums.... which i can't join... weird:confused3

oh well, at least i got to look at BDB eye candy.

Just finished book 3 of the BDB-much better than I thought it would be. I didn't really like Zsadist before that.
I can't wait to read City of Glass-I'm #6 in line at the library now...
Went to Borders over the weekend and got Vampire Academy, 2 books by Sarah Addison Allen that have been on my list for awhile and the 4th BDB book. I just couldn't justify buying City of Glass in hardcover-I'll read it too fast .;)
Not sure what to read next...decisions decisions...

I'd say Vampire Academy but I haven't read BDB yet. I'm working on another quilt and that's cutting into my reading time.

I need to start stockpiling books for my week in the mountains in June. Sunny days, cabin with a big porch, no distractions except my niece. This rest of us all really like to read. I can usually get through a book a day even with all the other camping activities....wish I was there now instead of working! :rotfl:

That sounds absolutely divine!

Yes, I say wait for the free copy of City of Glass and try the Vampire Academy. OH they're a guilty pleasure ....but you'll probably enjoy them! I look forward to all of your thoughts!

Just was watching Jumper and had a thought - what about Hayden Christensen with a Russian accent for Dmitiri in Vampire Academy??

Hayden Christianson... I'm on the fence

YES: I like him in makeup

I also had a thought: I rented the movie - 27 Dresses (predictable but watchable and my DH got a huge kiss when he got home based on my chick flick feelings of happiness) - I have a huge crush on this guy now. He's quirky and REALLY CUTE plus he can act. Love him!

SO CUTE! - He was also in Enchanted and XMen and in The Notebook (as the guy she should have married... COME ON HOLLYWOOD)

Forget about the star wars Hayden (at this point I'd like to forget about all 3 of those movies) - think more Hayden in Jumper.

James Marsden would be a good choice too.

I stared at that star wars pic forever trying to remember why he was wearing a purple glove then was thinking - oh CGI thing!

For me - Hayden is too skinny and too blonde/American.

I couldn't tell you anything about the newer star wars movies.. they were so "serious" that's all I know.

Yep, I agree on the too American - I tried one boring work afternoon to find hot Russian actors and didn't have any luck.

That sounds so wrong. :rotfl:

Ok, I need more suggestions for books to take on my trip. The Uglies? I suppose I have time to get stuff shipped because our Barnes and Noble always has maybe the last two books out of a series but not the whole series (if it's in a series).

I have the first Black Dagger Brotherhood book to read too.

So I guess I'm looking for really grab your attention books that make you not want to put them down. Read Mortal Instruments and Vampire Academy already. The fiction books have to compete with my photography books when I'm out in the mountains for a week so I have to make sure I bring good ones. :)

I really liked the Uglies series but, I know I keep repeating myself, I really REALLY liked the Gemma Doyle series (The Great and Terrible Beauty). I can't remember if you've already read them or not. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3682.A_Great_and_Terrible_Beauty
This series really grabbed me and scared me and I have been looking, without success, to find something that gives me the chills in this way. Not too scary.. just scary enough. Like a good ghost story. - ACTUALLY: although I attached the link to the book review/summary I would not read it. It gives away too much of the story. When I read it I had no idea what was going to happen and I totally believe it was more fun that way. Trust me... see what you think. If not on vacation, at least sometime.

However, I would definely put this book http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/112750.Darkfever Dark Fever (there are 3 out and one on the way) at the top of your list of book(s) to take on vacation with you. I bet you you will not be disappointed.

Did you read the teen vamp series, House of Night? It can be grating to some due to the language (very teen "it" stuff) I dunno.. I thought it was pretty hilarious (until the 5th book when I was sick of it).
http://www.houseofnightseries.com/

I see you have "Dead Witch Walking" on your to-reads ...http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30264.Dead_Witch_Walking I liked that book alot. I haven't continued with the series as it's a mass market paperback and I hate those AND because I own the others in the series and so my library books (wtih their pesky due dates) are at the top of my list.

There has also been alot of talk about the Maximum Overdrive series..
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13152.The_Angel_Experiment

But I have to admit I have not read it. I hope that helps!

Oh yea.. after reading the summary of the above book I just remembered another really good one called "The Hunger Games" http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2767052.The_Hunger_Games
Everybody I've recommended that to has enjoyed it immensly. It's another one I WOULD NOT READ the summary of though... it gives too much away. It's about a TV game show that pits teenagers against each other to the death. Kind of like Survivor but without the niceness. It sounds morbid and believe me, I cannot do morbid, but it's really not. It's quite good. The Hunger Games and The Great and Terrible Beauty have been the two books that I see recommended time and time again by people who loved Twilight. They are both really good. (though nothing like Twilight at all)

I've read alot of books lately and the ones I'm listing here are the top "couldn't put down" ones for me.

Hope that helps!

P.S. I did listen to a Neil Gaiman called "The Anansi Boys" it was FABULOUS though I think it's better as a listen due to the voices of the guy who does it (FABULOUS) but it's a take off of another of his books "American Gods" which I have heard tremendous things about. It's an adult book by the author of "The Graveyard Book" which is a current-ish Newbury winner and a great read as well.

Wow thanks! Time to place an Amazon order!

I got a Borders gift card for my b-day and I wanna spend it. I'm thinking of picking up Wake. I was going to get a book called Swoon, but I saw it got very bad reviews, so I won't. Any recommendations?

I read a really interesting series and the first book was called Bone Doll's Twin. It was actually a really good series. A little strange but good none the less. The authors name is Lynn Flewelling.

Just finished book 3 of the BDB-much better than I thought it would be. I didn't really like Zsadist before that.

I love the BDB, just finished #5. Zsadist and Bella are my favorite!

I've been reading fanfics on my itty bitty blackberry screen and that hasn't been bugging me so I'm thinking a kindle would be way better than that. Is MinnieMe around? She has one and loves it...

I'm sooooo sorry I didn't see this sooner! I was on vacation at the end of May and got back around the 31st and have slowly been jumping back on the boards!

I loooove my Kindle! Both Mom and I have one, and it was a godsend on vacation! I tried the kindle app for my Ipod Touch, and hated it. I can't read that little screen, drove me nuts. I was glad when I got the Kindle, it made it much easier. The screen is awesome, nothing like reading a computer screen. You can get books anytime, you don't need any internet service because it's built right in to the Kindle. I thought I would miss turning the pages of a real book, but I don't. I do still buy a few books, but most of them I get on the Kindle because they are much cheaper! :thumbsup2

Wow, I totally sound like I belong on an infomercial! hahaha I hope this helps you in your decision! I wish I was closer to you, I'd meet up with you and let you play around on the Kindle to see how you liked it!

Wake is good! At least, I thought it was. Swoon wasn't too bad..definitely not a favorite of mine..but not the worst I've ever read.
