It is on a per person basis, and even if you bring a 1yr old, they are considered one person, and ALL people have to be registered.
Yes it is part of Mousefest.
A lot of people seem to be going solo.

I finally have good news to share!

DH has accepted a job!! He starts Nov 10th. Yeah!!

So in honor of his new job, we wanted to get away for a few days next week...seriously considered Disney but not enough time (we only have 4 days).

Instead we are trying out a new place in Williamsburg called Great Wolf Lodge. They have a decent weekday rate. If you haven't heard of these, they are the indoor waterpark resorts. And DH and I plan to go to the spa and get massages.

Ok, so I don't want to get too excited because I am not sure of the dates....BUT......Ann's Disney Man has a business trip to Orlando on December 12th.

Last year when he had his meeting, it was at the Portofino - Universal and then we took the kids to Pop Century and went to Disney for the rest of the week.

This year, since we are taking the kids at Christmas (so they won't have to miss any school), I will be going alone with my DH. And he will be at some meetings on either the 11th or 12th.

So, although, I won't be AT Disney....I will be in the area and maybe I can rent a car and come over and if there is a moment that you aren't in the parks (that almost never happens with me - but if I remember correctly, Cat you did go back to you room from time to time).....well, maybe I might get the opportunity to meet you??

I was even hoping that since I would be driving in with my family on the 26th that one of my 10 day passes could possibly be used but they must be used within 14 days of initial use.


I know this is just dreaming for me that it will all work out and the thought of having to be somewhere at a particular time might not interest you at all.....AND I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND IF THAT IS SO!!! REALLY! But just in case.....I thought I would put it out there.

I will know more in the coming weeks. I don't even know if a flight is available for me. I would be using points and all so......just keeping my fingers crossed as I would love to meet my new like-minded friends!

I have heard that the only people allowed to use the water park are the people staying at the hotel.

They also have a thing called MagiQuest in the hotel as well I believe. We have been to that at Myrtle Beach. My son enjoyed that way more than my daughter though.

You know if it was just DH and I, we could easily go for just 4 days...but when you add a 3yo in the mix, it just takes more time for everything and I really didn't want to "lose" the two travel days to FL...and the flights were $250/pp (I paid $165 in May). So we'll just drive 2 hours or so and I'll still feel like we have a whole day coming/going.

Yes, so glad to know we'll be earning money again -- and that we can splurge a little on a quick get-away.

I'll take pics and definitely let you know what I think of GWL. I went on-line to check reviews and I read:
- waterpark is great, clean and lots of lifeguards
- food is ok/bad (but we aren't going for the food and can always eat off-sit)
- hotel rooms are old
- staff is not like Disney
- lots of stuff to do for all age ranges


So it doesn't necessary have the best reviews but I'm ok with that -- esp if I know ahead of time...that way I won't set the bar too high

Thanks!! We go tomorrow at 10:30am to have our 20 wk u/s. This is the one that will show us whether our girl has 'grown anything in the past 5 weeks'. I have myself all psyched up for a girl so I admit if something changes tomorrow, I'll be weirded out for a bit...but of course will love boy or girl.

I can't believe it's 1/2 way either. We have waaaaay too much stuff to do between now and then...but I think that's the case with every baby and somehow it all works out.

Waterpark was great, but go somewhere else to eat.

DH's job is about 25 minutes away...more with traffic but he can avoid the beltway and toll road so he'll save time and money. We are pleased.

Yep, that's what I heard as well (food sucks), but like you said, we can always go off-site. Our package includes free breakfast buffet every day and really, you have to work hard to ruin breakfast - I can always eat cereal and pastries but can't wait for bacon, waffles, pancakes, potatoes, etc..

Oh, yeah, I love breakfast buffets!!

Oh, and they also have a Pizza Hut on site and ice cream place! We might just be living on junk food for 3 nights.

Actually, I did PM Amy to see if she has some places to recommend in the area. If not, we'll look for a Cracker Barrel (somehow we always end up eating here on a vacation...)

And love your ticker!!! You know I support DVC 100%...once you join and go, you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner!

(That was another reason we didn't do Disney...both DH and I looked at each other and said, "oh, we'd have to get a regular room" since we don't have enough points to stay DVC (and also can't do last-minute trips like this on DVC)...

After just 2 DVC trips, our whole attitude has changed on Disney and we want the luxury of a 1BR Deluxe resort!

We fly in on Saturday the 13th about 3:30. We're staying at All Star Sports (yuck, but it was all we could get with free dining-I'm still trying to get Pop or at least ASMusic). We are eating at Kona Cafe at 5:10 unless we can get into Chef Mickey's. I'm still trying on that one.

I'd love to at least meet up for a beverage on Saturday night. Maybe at Downtown Disney? That's probably where we'll spend the evening.

You got me thinking 3Guys.....I wondered if the "no expiration" option was more than just a one day pass for just me.....then I started to think, my trip in December (did I mention 'peakest of all peak times) is going to be $4,000 and we are driving and staying at Pop. We are getting the meal plan though.

Anyway, I was thinking about how much more it would be to make my tickets into annual passes......

My husband thinks going every few years is plenty though. But I think it would add over $1000 to upgrade to annual passes.

Still trying to figure out the plans for the brief December 12th business trip for my husband. So if you guys are all trying to go to Toy Story Mania on the 13th, I may possibly be able to find some of you somewhere on the 12th??

I listened to the PodCast and it is costing the Unplugged guys over $20,000 for this. And I think I also understood that one of the Unplugged announcers is also an owner of Dreams Unlimited Travel (sponsoring the event).

I wish there were a way for those of us not attending that we could fill out a form for those who had four or five to fill out. Seems like that would be hard to get in if you were taking a family, you know?

Saddest of all, I think my husband is going to want to go to SeaWorld on that Saturday. So, I think I will only have the possibility of meeting you guys on Friday anyway, since he will have his meeting during the day.

He will have a Christmas party that night -- how bad would that be for me to miss the "office" party that he flew to in Orlando on Friday night?? To meet my virtual friends.....something I tell my kids everyday NOT to do!!

It sounds like everyone will need to GTG on the 12th since the 13th is booked. Let me know if that changes in any way or if you can sneak away for an hour or so on the 13th to have a snack somewhere (why does everything revolve around food for me? HMMMM). Ann, if you do stay at Pop on the 13th let me know. That will make up for us not getting to see each other in January.
