Good morning everyone! I've been pondering the lack of activity on our thread and I really think it's mostly because this is the busiest time of year for many people. Lots of "end of the year" type things. I'm on our local school board and so I have tons of things that I need to attend. Also for us, we're really working on getting our house ready to list. I'm a terrible "collector" (I HATE the term pack rat, BLECH!) and I'm madly freecycling, goodwilling, and pricing for the yard sale of the century, plus running my business and don't forget, being a mom! I don't think that my schedule is any more crazy than lots of others here so I'm guessing that is what is going on with many of us.
I also think that our thread was started for a specific purpose and now that purpose has shifted. We've now got two threads going, one is specific and this one is more for "conversation" and sharing of personal things. I think that if we come up with a way to get a little focus that might jump start us. I'm creative in some ways, but not in that way, however I did think of an idea that would keep an ongoing conversation with more people likely to respond. We could come up with a list of topics and instead of addressing them all at once we could work our way through them (much like we're working our way around the country in the VRT). Here are some ideas that I have:
1. Sharing our favorite Disney dream (realistic one AND not so realistic)
2. Sharing our favorite Disney experience or memory
3. Sharing our favorite Disney hidden gem
4. Sharing our favorite Disney restaurant
5. Sharing our favorite Disney money saving tip (I lurk on the Budget board *see below)
If everyone adds to the list we'll have lots to talk about over the next little while. We could have one person in charge of posting the question of the week (or every couple of days-when the topic seems to be exhausted). I would be happy to do that, but I can't take charge until after our house is listed and ready to sell. If someone would do it in the meantime I could take over at the beginning of June. Perhaps KigerKat could add to her first post on this thread by listing our questions.
Even if we don't do that idea, I think we have a great core group of people who visit regularly but might not have time to post something. Perhaps if we encourage people to check in regularly with a teeny little post (even if they just say, hi!). That will keep our thread near the top through this less active time and also help keep track of everyone. When we don't have an active conversation going on people are less likely to post something.
Okay, long dissertation and I'm done now. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

*Speaking of the budget board, here's a funny CMO story that I've never told any of you. Back at the very beginning of the CMO contest I posted on the budget board that my good friend had made the top 20. It was on the day that the first calls were made, long before our CMO thread was started.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1713311 Nobody responded! No posts at all. First, I felt like such a dope and embarassed, then I felt grumpy that no one was excited about it. I was so relieved to find "our" thread even though we came in late with most of the top 20 already revealed. I so remember the excitement of that time! Now I hardly ever check on the budget board. Great ideas for real life, but I feel such a sense of community on our thread.
