The Adventurosity Club

Suz - Thanks for the fantastico idea! I'm in a couple of super busy days but I'll be back later to read and enjoy everything and join in.

Ok, I'd love to go with you too! And are you thinking what I think you're thinking??? A real live variety show...not a virtual one??? I have a feeling that would be a hilarious adventure in its own right! :scared1: And SO much fun!

With the talent around here I can only imagine how much of this  :lmao:  there would be!

LOVE the idea Suz D!!! I think this is a great way to learn more about each other and share the wonderful experiences we've had! I will definitely share mine as well (I don't know if I can tackle all 5 questions at once, but I'll do what I can)

I also wanted to leave a big THANK YOU for Marshay . . . I just received a wonderful postcard from the UK pavilion at Epcot. Thanks!!!

On a slightly side note . . . I don't recall how much I've shared about my upcoming CMO trip, but I leave on Tuesday for WDW for my first official visit. I'll have four very LONG days (up and out the door around 5:00 a.m. and returning around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. a couple of days!) but I can't wait to get back down there to be a part of it all. I know that I'll be attending the press event for Toy Story Mania! as well as participating in some magic moments - possibly at each of the four parks. I'll definitely tell you all about it when I get back! (I still don't have a laptop, so I probably won't be online much next week!)

Justin - Thanks for the update and staying in touch when you are so busy!

Marshay - The postcard was a total mailbox treat!! Lovely surprise - thanks so much!

Amy - The contact sheet is Listerrific!!!!

Thanks for not only getting it all together but making it beautiful!!

Hello Mrs F!
Just an update on the logo.
I have emailed the other websites webmaster to inquire about any copyright issues on the font and am now waiting on an answer.
I also invited him/her to drop by for a look as I explained the whole CMO to DAC history thing.
Will keep you all "posted" on any reply.

Any news on the logo yet??

What fun.... he certainly sounded and looked like he enjoyed himself.

Very cool, MadBrad!! I give it a "thumbs up" as well! :thumbsup2

I would really like to film a ride like that, but I would be so afraid that I'd drop my camera - how did you hold onto it?

MadBrad, I just went and viewed your EE video...how cool was that?! :thumbsup2 Can you do RnR for us next time? :rotfl:

I don't know how you held the camera the whole time---you got skillz, as they say! :cool2:

And now we know EE is about 3 minutes long. Not too shabby.

That was awesome! Thanks MadBrad for posting it! I'll show it to my DD (11) who LOVES rollercoasters but for some reason was afraid of Everest? Maybe next time we'll get to ride it! :thumbsup2

DS is adorable too by the way....couldn't really see your DD, but I'm sure she's just as precious!

Thanks again....that was fun!

Loved the Expedition Everest video, Madbrad! Thanks for sharing!

Whoo hoo....!!!!! I held both of my hands up watching this....:scared1:

Thanks, MadBrad!!!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the EE video. I think it has to be my favorite ride in all of WDW!

cherbear - It wasn't too hard holding onto the camera. I have a miniDV that is really small. The strap can be tightened so that it fits real snug into my hand. When I go in September, I'll give RnR a try. I have a couple of more ride videos that I'll try to post later.

Mrs.F - My DD actually was in the video. She was at the very beginning but for only a split second. She was the girl in the red shirt with all of the pins around her neck. She sat in the car in front of us and you can see a little of her shirt during the video.

Wow, I totally missed the turn!

I didn't even know there was a new thread until I got the mailing list in email and said (to myself) "what's this Adventurosity Club" thing?

I just can't believe it. Now I have to go back and catch up on 27+ pages and 404+ posts....wow

Hi everyone!

Welcome back swwake! Next time we'll have to leave a trail of rice krispy treat crumbs...

1. Sharing our favorite Disney dream (realistic one AND not so realistic):

So many Disney dreams...right now though, the one that has taken over my thoughts is to actually work there. I've been watching the job sites for awhile, and am finally working on resumes and preparing things here to move to CA! It's so exciting to think about. It once seemed so unrealistic, but now, it's that something I just have to do!!!

And of course there's always the other fun dreams of being able to experience the magic of the parks much more often, and also to take people and/or pay for people to get to go! I would so love to be able to do that, and to be a part of the Dream Squad and really give away some amazing dreams! I think it would be fun too, like KigerKat, to be a face character for a day, or ever so often. Since I'd have to be a girl, I might choose Alice since it would be fun to hang out with the Mad Hatter making people laugh!

Just wanted to cheer you on in making your dream of working for Disney into reality!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Life is too short to be doing anything but what you dream of most truely.

You too, HMF!!!

Okay, I'm going to answer the questions one at a time (as I have time).

1. My Disney dream (realistic and non-realistic)

Realistic: This would be realistic but in a very, very long term way. I would love to spend a month doing Disney. We would spend 14 days at WDW followed by two 7-day back-to-back Disney cruises. It would be majorly expensive, but depending on how you worked it you could do it for probably under $12,000 which would be doable if you put your mind to it and saved, saved, saved!

Jeff and I had very little interest in a cruise of any kind. We were very content with our trips to WDW (we always go for 7-10 days and we LOVE staying for 10 days). Then my parents took us on the Wonder for NYE 2005 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It was SO amazing. We rebooked onboard for another 7 day cruise and went over spring break 2007. Again, amazing, but we hated to get off the boat after 7 days. The beauty of a 7 day back to back would be that you don't have to pack and unpack again after the 1st 7 days. You also do a different itinerary for the 2nd week (1st week would be either Eastern or Western and then vice versa for the second week).

Unrealistic: Taking 35 of my closest friends with me and doing the dining plan!

I can't stress enough for those of you who are on the fence about the cruise. It is worth every penny. The beauty of it for those of us who have kids. You can have a wonderful family vacation, but because the kids club is outstanding, your kids will WANT to go there and you can have some great romantic time too! The best of both worlds. For those who are health conscious, we did 10 days at WDW followed by the 4 day cruise when we went for my parents 50th. I gained 1/2 lb. through the whole thing. There are so many healthy choices and it is really possible to eat healthy. For those of you who are wanting more of a pig-fest, there are tons of things to choose from. All the food is free with the exception of Palo (the adults only restaurant) and all of the beverages are free with the exception of alcoholic bevs, smoothies, and sodas from the bar.

This includes...room service "Hello, this is Susan in stateroom 5514. Could we have three giant chocolate chip cookies and some milk sent up? We'd also like one all-hands-on deck platter". The all-hands-on-deck platter is made up of cheeses, fruits, and crackers. We always order on right when we get into our room so we have something to sustain us through all of that unpacking.

It also includes: chicken fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, fresh fruit, bakery goods, etc. There are some great pictures of all of this on the cruise line forum, but I can't find the thread. When (and if) I find it I'll post.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE! AND AN EXTRA SHOUT-OUT TO MY "VIRTUAL" MOM, MRS. FLEAGLE!

Aw, thanks Stephen!

And thanks too MadBrad!

We've had makeup soccer games all day today. I finally had to call it quits and come home. (good news....we won! bad news......yesterday we lost)

On a yummy side note: I put the wonderful recipe that Suz shared last week in the crock pot before we left for soccer and man it smells INCREDIBLE! I can't WAIT to eat it! I hope you all are hungry!

Trying to get caught up here..... I'll be back later!

Oops....should have read a bit further...

Thanks 3Guys and Mr. Autopia! Wouldn't want to leave you all out! ;)

-Amy

Toy Story Mania ROCKS!!!!!

We were able to ride it 1.5 times today. The first time we rode all the way through. love, love, love it!!!

Got some photos I'll post in our TR later.

Then we tried to get back on and it shut down while we were waiting in line. So we went back later and this time were able to ride again. However, halfway through, it broke down again so we got the rare chance to walk through TSM. They gave us a re-entry pass (think FastPass) which we are hoping to use tonight or tomorrow before we leave.

Did I tell you that TSM ROCKS!!!!!

Oh, I LOVE this dream Suz!!! We'll have to add "unlimited time" to the unlimited amounts of money! I never really thought about a cruise before, but a Disney one is a different story! After hearing you and others talk about it, it does really sound like an amazing thing to do! I hope you get to go on another one soon!
