Thursday was our last full day in the paradise that is Disney World and since we were able to do both Universal Studios parks in one day (thanks to practically zero lines at all the attractions on Tuesday) we got to visit Animal Kingdom! I hadn’t even planned on us going there so it was a special treat.

We arrived at the gates at around 9:00 which was the usual for us throughout the trip and I was very surprised at the different look of this park, this being my first visit, it was like a forest there were so many trees and plants. Very beautiful place. The first thing we did was look at some of the animals and birds they had on display while walking towards Discovery Island. I had heard about the magnificent Tree of Life they have there but I was still amazed at how gigantic it was in person.

At the tree we hung at left because I spotted a sign for It’s Tough to be a Bug and I heard how great that show is so I was hyped to go see that first. Once again we walked in just in time to catch the show starting in about 5 minutes, since the crowds were so low at the park that day we were able to get good seats. I had no idea what kind of show it was so I was surprised to see it was another 3D movie. I was definitely in for a treat as I would rank this as thee best 3D movie we saw the entire trip, the animatronics grasshopper was sure frightening and the stuff walking under your seat was completely unexpected.

Next we continued walking towards Dinoland USA because I knew the attraction I was most looking forward to seeing there was the ride Dinosaur. Along the way we saw more birds on display and my Rachel loves birds so she kept getting excited and telling me what each bird was. When we got in there I saw one funny looking ride and told Rachel we just had to get on that one, Primeval Whirl. The rotating rollercoaster thing looked too intimidating for my mom so she waited for us at the exit. We walked right on had one exhilarating ride!

After that we headed straight for Dinosaur, I knew I would not be disappointed as soon as I saw the fancy complex the ride was housed it, reminiscent of Jurassic Park. There was no wait again and we all walked into the briefing room (I was surprised to see Claire Huxtable in the movie) and then boarded our time vehicle. Best Disney ride I rode all week (best ride period being Amazing Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure), it was that good, such a thrilling ride! I am so glad I didn’t miss it. As soon as we got off I told Rachel we were running right back around to the entrance and getting on again, mom decided to wait for us at the exit.

We then headed out of Dinoland (on the way my mom spotted one of the many McDonald’s French fry stands and got some), we walked past Asia and into Africa. Next thing we rode was the Kilimanjaro Safaris, another can’t miss attraction. There was a little wait for this one, about 15 minutes. We boarded the vehicle and saw a lot of animals on the safari, gazelles and lots of rhinos, elephants, and lions to name a few. I was a little disappointed with the ride personally though, I found it short and not too interesting.

After that it was a little after noon and it was lunch time. The Tusker House was nearby so we decided to head in there for lunch. There was a school group in there so the line was a little long but we waited anyway. Rachel and I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries and my mom got a salad. The food tasted great again as with all the food we had, very good especially for theme park food.

After lunch we walked back around to Asia to ride the Kali River Rapids. When we got there, there was a cast member standing in front and a small crowd. It turns out the ride was just closed a few minutes earlier due to a technical problem so we were unable to ride it . My mom joked and said someone probably threw up on it :teeth:.

We then consulted the park map for the next attraction we should visit. I had seen everything I wanted to except for the Festival of the Lion King so I suggested we head to Camp Minnie Mickey to see that next. We walked over there and made it a tiny bit late for the show (it started at 1:00 and it was 1:09) but we were let in anyway. I was also disappointed with this show because it was just singing and dancing without many special effects and animatronics.

After that it was close to 2:00 so we decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing at our room and visiting the pool and left the park. We all took naps for a couple of hours when we got back then Rachel and I hit the pool and hot tub. At about 8:00 we had our last dinner in Florida, take out from Ruby Tuesday.

good thing you missed the rapids.....no one would get sick.....but you may of gotten drenched.......we do love it though........thanks again for your report
