Wow Maroo! What an amazing, amazing update. I had tears in my eyes while I read this! My very, very dear friend has an autistic child and I know how it feels to see interaction like that from having been around her son. There are times when he won't acknowledge my presence and others when he'll actually make eye contact with me.

I love it when people "get it" - and Disney got it and you see how cool it is, too! That is awesome.

It's heartwarming that Baker had such a positive experience at Crystal Palace. And what better place than at Disney, right? Such a wonderful turning point, I'm sure his parents were thrilled to see him interact so well!

His parents were over the moon excited!

This picture is fabulous, his smile and look of curiosity is so sweet!

I loved the pics we got! It really captured the moment.

You did them such a wonderful service too, by not only taking them around but also alerting the character handlers to Baker's needs.

I really wish I had told them as soon as I got there...live and learn. But they were great with him! Really - really the pleasure is all mine when I get to see all this magic unfold for these families. I have been so fortunate to be there when a lot of this amazing stuff happens - it is truly a blessing to me, too!

Ooooh, I'm wondering what that CM had up her sleeve for them!

Oh, Maroo. How wonderful about Baker's interaction with the characters. I have had to wipe my eyes several times while reading your update. This was truly a magical experience.

It is almost like once Baker realized it was safe, he could interact with the characters and actually enjoy doing it.

Thanks! I think you are right...Baker felt safe and could interact...which was so cool. We really had no idea how he would react to the characters "in real life" - he watches them all on video - but to see them life size for the first time is fairly freaky.

How wonderful to see Baker connect with the Charactors it is just so special!!

It is great when a "connection is made". We all know how magical that place is and how special they make everyone feel.

That moment in time is what memories are all about.

Maroo, I had huge tears streaming down my face reading that installment. There is nothing like Disney Magic, especially for Autistic children. What a wonderful thing for you to be able to witness. I can't wait to see what the CM does for Baker and his family.

Maroo, this is soooo amazing!!!!!!! When I was in highschool I worked with the handicapped students during their gym class. It was called PEOPEL (Physcial Education Oppurnity for the Exceptional Learner.) I worked with a few kids who were austisic. This is amazing that he was able to connect with characters!! I was also very impresses by Baker's intellence. Being able to play 3 games at once!

I'm very excited to see what the CM does later.

Yep, that's what it is- Starter everything. Good for everthing I want to do, like surf on the run, store photos, and check e-mail, but not good for a whole lot else.

Let me know if you can find out the directions on how to change the background- I'd love a Disney Photo of the Week.

I love those pictures of Baker with Eeyore and Pooh. You can really see how Eeyore broke the ice and then Baker just blossomed from there. Very cool indeed!

I wish we had that at my high school. My HS was actually NOT handicapped accessible. It was the site of riots in 1957 and they labeled my HS a National Landmark because of the history - so it was not equipped with an elevator. Which was crazy since the reason it was considered a national landmark was because it was integrated! It took 10 years of a petition and someone complaining to the DOJ to finally get an elevator installed so that handicapped children could go to school there. (Best school in the state of AR - in my opinion. )

His parents were floored. They were so impressed with Disney in general (the customer service and how much they went out of their way to make it easy for their family) - and to see Baker blossom so much! And it just keeps happening over and over during their trip. Amazing. It is one reason I love Disney so much.

I am in hospital. Received kidney transplant tires night. For now I am only posting here since most ppl follow ur. Thread. I am. Using iPhone and hate it. Will have iPad late.

Surgery was fine kidney is working. Of course it's a whole lifetime change but I was On waitlist nearly 6' years
