I am sooooo looking forward to reading this TR in it's ENTIRETY! I better get some coffee cause it's gonna be a long night!!!
Should I pick up some for you? I'm donning my combat gear and body armor. Rumor has it a half gallon is going for $500 on the street.
Down here it does not work as well as it did up there. But in the summer I can always use the outdoor hot plate and fry eggs out on the deck.We use the outdoor fridge all the time!
They kept reminding us they had been out there since 4:30 am,before it all started and well by noon they were pretty tired and getting slap happy.Love those news reports--I love all the breathless cuts to reporters live in various neighborhoods saying, "Yup! It's snowing here too!"
Thought some of you might be interested in seeing a few pictures from last night's ball. The theme was a post-Christmas Ball, and most were not in Regency Period costuming, but rather just formalwear. As usua,l we had a marvelous time dancing the night away to English Country Dancing numbers- my feet are still aching!!
I like the beer and coffee. At least with the beer you can always put it in the "outdoor fridge" on the porch.![]()
I feel like bringing the empty container with me and saying 'See, I really need it!'Don't you hate going to the store for milk when a storm is coming and apologizing that you really need the milk.![]()
They do the same shtick here... It's like come on people we live in New England and it's not like we have never seen snow before. How many times can I hear " Drivers really need to slow down when it snows."
and watch them pick up snow to show us. I mean can't we just go outside and pick up our own snow?
Aaaaargh! Hilarious! I (knock on wood) have never had that happen, but I've seen it, and been the one to notify the ... exposed.. that they needed some adjustment. Makes me glad pantyhose wearage has sort of fallen by the way side!
Glad to hear it! Love the pictures. Now who put on this ball? Looks like so much fun!
Enjoy the woodstove. As soon as Scott is home, I'll have him put on a fire. Its already snowing here, we are supposed to get 3 - 6 inches, so I'm sure the kids will be home tomorrow. Already been to the store to stock up on milk, bread, eggs, beer, coffee, toilet paper, tylenol.... what else did you say?

There's only one way to find out!

Looks like fun. Seems like you were at one not too long ago, correct?
This young lady is quite lovely.
This guys outfit reminds me of Harry Potter, when Ron Weasley had to wear the really old hand-me-down formal robes to the ball.

I love the pictures from the ball, it looks like so much fun! I am a bit strange for my generation but I far prefer that old English style of dancing compared to how we "dance" today. I'm sorry, but grinding on a dance floor does not equal dancing.JMHO.
Wow, I can't believe how many pages I had to go back to get caught up on your thread Liesa! I missed a whole lot of fun around here I see! I think I just spent the last hour and a half catching up!
Definitely a pretty good effort! I was so traumatized I'm not sure I can go back over there to do my TR now.....
I'm not sure I would want to see Rosie trying to top that one!![]()
Okay, now I'm all caught up and ready to jump back into the fray! As for the shirt story Liesa, I would have just yanked mine off too so you wouldn't feel self conscious......but then you might have been the one who was speechless!!! At least we know now if you have to go through the TSA extra search procedures, you already have the necessary skills! Once you got the feet comments at the gate, I guess you have to push that envelope now....
Terrible story Tim! So glad Princess Ana got through it and is doing better.
Only your comments will ever be considered pointless Rosie!!!
And so the story of how Rosie's pole dancing started is clearly revealed to the world!!!!
We thought she was doing better but she just woke up with a 102.4 fever. UGH.
Breathe in breathe out.... ok feel better?
I hope your move goes smoothly.![]()
She was at the doctors 2 times last week. We will wait to see what is going on in the a.m. If she goes tomorrow, I know bloodwork will be involved. They don't take any chances with her.
Sounds lovely! Hope you have time to take that break!![]()
We called the doctor this morning and they told us that Juliana could have a fever for a few more days. If Wednesday rolls around and she still has a fever then we have to call. Hopefully she won't because the weather men are expecting 10-24'' of snow starting tomorrow night.![]()
Whenever snow is imminent here in the East, everyone always rushes out to the grocery store for milk, bread and eggs. Apparently, we have a belief that you absolutely cannot survive a snowstorm without french toast.![]()
OMG, that's funny!! If you're here in the Pacific Northwest, we immediately stock up on beer and coffee- and we are 100% one cannot survive without either of those.![]()
You are right, I do not like beer, BUT how 'bout this: use the beer to make the English muffins, drink the coffee and make the McMuffins , and wash it all down with some nice Willamette Valley Pinot Noir?? I could walk a mile uphill both ways and get all of that I wanted.
Poor baby! Sorry about your rough morning, Tim!
Oh, thats good stuff!

I hope that NEVER happens again. But then again, I said that the first time too. Ok. I'm having a really hard time even typing this... I've had a couple glasses of wine, and I'[m trying to watch my team be behind by 7 points....
Now, let's see...
The Ball... we go on Thursdays when we can to English country Dancing lessons-, but every 2 months they host a formal ball- each with a different theme, but the same style of dancing. English Country Dancing- think Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility. We really like it, and it's something we all really enjoy. I mean who doesn't like to play dress up??
List:
Wood
Tylenol
Wine/beer
English muffins
Bacon
Cheese
Milk
Eggs
That oughta do it... except the most important one of all-----TP.
Ahhh yes, the outdoor fridge. In Crapistan, we used to hang our meat outside and keep it frozen like that. Worked really well, actually!
I love the pictures from the ball, it looks like so much fun! I am a bit strange for my generation but I far prefer that old English style of dancing compared to how we "dance" today. I'm sorry, but grinding on a dance floor does not equal dancing.JMHO.
Well, the Ducks gave it a good ol' try, but sadly went down in flames! I guess Camille gets the victory in this one.![]()
As many times as the general public will tune in for. You aren't tuning in are you??![]()
That probably depends on how much nacho cheese they ate.Jumping on So today were are supposed to get 1-5 inches of snow, that's nothing, but sure enough I stop at the store yesterday for nacho cheese, and wouldn't ya know it, there is no bread or milk and the TP aisle is pretty empty too. I can understand sort of, the stocking up for a long storm, but 1-5 inches? How much poopin are they palnning on doing?
GB, what are you guys using for pipes........the tubes from the middle of the paper towels and TP?Around here, water is they mainstay. Our pipes tend to explode when it starts freezing.
I had to pick up milk twice since Sunday, and both times it was because we were out! A bi-product of having teenage boys!I like the beer and coffee. At least with the beer you can always put it in the "outdoor fridge" on the porch.
News all day here - let's go to the grocery story to see the bare shelves where milk should be. No Joke

Beth, is that you???I love the pictures from the ball, it looks like so much fun! I am a bit strange for my generation but I far prefer that old English style of dancing compared to how we "dance" today. I'm sorry, but grinding on a dance floor does not equal dancing.JMHO.
Jumping on the bandwagon here for the list of storm supplies.
I remember my first winter here in PA. it was the blizzard of 96. I went out to grab a few neccessary things for the storm, chocolate, Pepsi, pringles. But I couldn't find a single loaf of bread, or a gallon of milk to save my life. So I got hamburger buns and chocolate milk instead. But the thing I found most shocking was the amount of toilet paper people were buying.

Agree! Looks like a whole lot of fun.Looks like fun. Seems like you were at one not too long ago, correct?
Okay Liesa, no more pictures of the young lady here! One basement shrine is enough for anyone! This young lady is quite lovely.![]()
Beth, is that you???
