OK, I was totally cracking myself up today while shopping at Winco today. As you know, I've completely stessed out over deadlines that weren't met (but turned out ok anyways) and stewing over the fact that 1,500 people will be sitting on the other side of the microphone! :scared1: Anyway, this presentation is consuming my conscious, even while cruising the veggies and bulk food bins.

So, I park my cart, and scoop me up some pecans out of one of the bins. And go back an toss them in the cart, and get on my happy way. I push about a half an aisle and realize that THIS AIN"T my cart!!!!!!!!!!!!! If shopping carts had rubber tires, there'd be a 10 yd. skid mark on aisle 7.

I quick do the did-anyone-see-me glance around (don't laugh, I know you've all done it too, when you squeek one out that didn't mean to escape...) and put the mistaken identity cart back super fast.

Phew! The coast was clear. I grabbed my pecans out of the cart and make a mad dash back to my own, toss them in and run.

So, I'm unpacking my stuff at home, and find some pecans AND walnuts. Guess in my haste to clear out, I grabbed anything that remotely looked like my pecans!! I wonder what that poor soul who was seriously craving brownies with nuts is going to think when they discover their nuts were missing!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ok, back to costuming and presentating....

Hi, Liesa. Great story! I've done that. It was actually Marv's cart that I took by mistake and it had wooden spoons in it???? ;)

Seriously, good luck this weekend.

9 days until we make our son SCREAM with excite and CRY at the same time....

I missed this....why will he be crying? :confused3

1) Yikes! Would shots help?? I'd be a mess without my sleep!

It just takes a couple of days, today was MUCH better.

2) Yes, she went overboard. Instead of honey ginger, it is now papaya- yes, that's really the name of it. :scared1:

Oh no! Do you like it?

3) I learned how to put in an invisible zipper yesterday, and the pieces of mine are cut out. Bek still needs to hem hers- then we're off to the ball. If I didn't have to speak in front of 1,500 people the next day, I'd be way more excited.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I hate it when I discover my nuts are missing! :lmao:

No problem whatsoever! Just post, and we'll read. :goodvibes

You're quite diverse in your interests! First it's hedgehogs (with odd mating habits!) and now stained glass!! :thumbsup2
Liesa,
Actually diverse is a much better word then my DH uses to describe my interests as currently I do the following...
Breed Hedgehogs, Sugar Gliders and as of a month ago Mongolian Gerbils
I make both Stain Glass and Jewelry (making my own glass beads of course)
I make my own soap and candles
I am a Sunday School Teacher at our church
and during the Fall Months I work the Renaissance Festival here in Kansas as a Supervisor of The Children's Relm.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And of course I am on here getting more info about the world of the mice and planning another trip...
Which is why I really can't complain when my hubby calls me crazy:rotfl2:

Didn't see this one either!
Hmmmmm, Mongolian Gerbils....never heard of such a thing.
Are they overly large, muscular gerbils with odd looking long mustaches, carry swords and wear funny looking hats? :confused3
Sorry, I couldn't resist. It's my sad attempt at humor..... I think these meds are doing funny things to my brain..... I really need to get off these allergy pills!

I see you live in Kansas, I grew up mostly in Kansas. I was born in Wichita, and graduated in Derby. :goodvibes

That was YOU????

You are SERIOUSLY trying to get the attention of the Tag Fairy, aren't you??? :rotfl2:

And Liesa, I have NEVER grabbed someone else's shopping cart before...........No, really! :rolleyes1

The shopping cart story is pretty funny! Especially that you "stole" their nuts!! :lmao:

Somehow, we need to get access to the Winco security-cam footage!

As far as accidental gas-passing goes, that's why you bring your kids with you! Portable scapegoats. :thumbsup2

Well, here they are, as promised. I cannot get Bekka home long enough, or no too busy to get her actually in the dress, so these will have to do.

Hers hangs too low in the front, so we'll have to have her wear a camsole or T underneath; somehow I cannot picture Susan from L,W&W with a low cut look.

The sleeves aren't on mine yet, but will look just like Bek's but in in white with silver cording. The neck gets a lace yoke on the neckline. I"m thinking of wearing my tiara (that you saw on Brook's TR a couple days ago) to round out my Galadriel look. I'd love an elfy looking something, but have not the time nor inclination to get one made. Anyway, this here is your latest episode of "ANYONE can sew!" Brought to you by no letter at all. ;)

Liesa, what a GREAT job you did. I am totally impressed and depressed that I can't do anything like that. I think the crown from Brook's report would be PERFECT.

I do like the way they turned out. I completely biffed the "French seam" (as in sewed it inside out!) but hey, I did learn both regular and invisible zippers. Now, I can just hope that there's enough fabric there to cover up the dancing!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I giggled when I saw that line.....but I just let all my little thoughts and comments die before they ever saw the light of day.....didn't want anybody to get the wrong idea about me :littleangel: :lmao:

Wow! Those look really fantastic Liesa!

Thanks guys (and gals!). It's been fun to make them, but made me realize once again how much I'd RATHER be quilting if I'm sewing. Garments are NOT my forte!

You are all sick and twisted... (and a little like me). Funny how I came home with 2 kinds of nuts. Now, time for a survey~~ I have to make brownies for the Ball-- Should I go with the legal pecans, or the ripped off walnuts??

The ripped off walnuts.

I started to type something like the people got home and said the same thing that my dog thought after his first visit to the vet....but thought better of it. I'm glad I didn't do that. :lmao:

I prefer brownies without, but since I probably won't be there it seems like the perfect thing to do would be to use the ripped off ones. It makes for a better story.

I'm with Glenn - I prefer brownies plain. But technically the walnuts weren't ripped off - you just shopped from an alternate grocery aisle - I'm sure they charged you for them in the end. Now the other person involved will be tearing up her cupboard, looking through all her sacks and finally checking her receipt then scratching her head and wondering if she's losing her mind! :lmao:

I bought a package of deli-slice ham a few weeks ago. Ryne is my putter-away-er so I left the groceries with him. The next day I went to make a sandwich and tore up the fridge looking for the ham. Then I checked the freezer and the cupboard (my putter away-er doesn't alway get things in the right place:rolleyes1) still no ham. The receipt was still in my purse - yep I'd paid for it :confused3. That night (day and a half after buying groceries) I grabbed up the pile of plastic bags to stick in bag holder - and there at the bottom of the pile was one that was a little heavier than the rest :sad2:. It was wrapped in white paper and the bags were white.....but still :sad2:
