Okay, I knew this one immediately, since we are DVC members, and AKV is our home resort. The K is from Jiko! We typically eat at Boma and Mara, so haven't eaten there yet.

That brass ring is really cool! How did you learn about it?

Sorry for Mike's berry incident. The same thing can happen if a small dog eats a half a bag of gummy worms, as we found out a couple of days ago. The dog didn't eat his dinner, which was very unusual, sat around whimpering, and then later lost his lunch. I asked, "who left food in their room?" and nobody 'fessed up. Then later, Marlene came downstairs with an empty, torn-up gummy worm package, upset that the dog had scarfed-up her treats. When I asked why she hadn't mentioned it when I asked who had food, she said that she a.) forgot about them, and b.) didn't consider them "food".

I have a picture like yours.

Magdalena told me if you turn the ring you will return some day to Nuremburg. :yay: That's what I'm wishing for! :goodvibes

:lmao::rotfl:I would have gotten the same response in my house too! :rotfl2:

I am so sad the berries made a repeat entrance.

Or exit, as the case may be. :lmao:

That's really neat about the ring, and the metalwork is unbelievable.

Once again, some great pics of a beautiful city! :cool1: And what a neat story about that brass ring!! I'm guessing all things considered, you can pretty much count on that trip to Disney in a couple weeks. :woohoo: (or months in your TR I'm guessing) :rolleyes1

Too bad about Mike and his berries, but when I was reading the report and saw he downed the whole pint, I was thinking........That can't be good!

"Why is your son going to be crying
No problem whatsoever! Just post, and we'll read. :goodvibes

You're quite diverse in your interests! First it's hedgehogs (with odd mating habits!) and now stained glass!! :thumbsup2

Didn't see this one either!
Hmmmmm, Mongolian Gerbils....never heard of such a thing.
Are they overly large, muscular gerbils with odd looking long mustaches, carry swords and wear funny looking hats? :confused3
Sorry, I couldn't resist. It's my sad attempt at humor..... I think these meds are doing funny things to my brain..... I really need to get off these allergy pills!

I see you live in Kansas, I grew up mostly in Kansas. I was born in Wichita, and graduated in Derby. :goodvibes

Cam,
I am thinking that my son will be so happy and laughing about the Surprise Trip to Disney World that he will cry out aka Scream :)

Regarding the Mongolian Gerbil here is a link to a pic of a set (hope it shows up) but yes they actually are probably more muscled then you are use to seeing gerbils as we breed them to be a healthy size and an adult gerbil should look like pear shaped not a rat :)

Wichita isn't bad I have a fellow Hedgehog Breeder who lives at Rago :) But I am in the subs of Kansas City known as Merriam :) Yep I am a Johnson Country Girl :) Derby is a great school :)

(now that I Have answered Cam am going to go back and read every post between her's and mine HAHAHAHAHAHA)

Here on the square, aside from the market itself was our next destination- the Beautiful Fountain. And beautiful it is!! I have never seen such incredibly intricate metal work.

Wow! The artwork is amazing! And the ring story is fascinating. Now I'll be pondering just how it got placed in there...

But instead of Mike’s dreams coming true, his worst nightmare manifested. The raspberries came back to haunt in the form of barfing relapses. (And you thought you were safe…) Back to the hotel we went, not only to check once more on the kids, but to put one more down for the count. All afternoon, in fact.

Mike would NOT have a magical day, but I sure wish you one!

Bleh. Sorry for that. My wife had diverticulitis issues and had to avoid seeds, too. Not fun at all.

To borrow from fellow DIS Dad AJRitz, this might be a useful smiley for the rest of the report:

That fountain is just gorgeous. The ironwork is amazing.

Sorry to hear that your hubby ended up sick. I hope eventually everyone starts feeling better.

Okay, back with my answer: Jiko

Again, had to research. I'm not one of these people saying "this was sooo easy" and "knew it immediately"! :headache:

Awww. I was going to ask if I could call. Maybe we can talk tomorrow.

Sure thing! Anytime!

This one is tooo easy!!

Jiko's!!!

Nicely done.

I haven't played yet but I think I have this one!!!!! I'm thinking it is from: the land of the Tonga Toast!!! LOL

Hopefully I am correct and will receive my first points!!!! :lmao::lmao:

EDIT::: Awwww RATS! I am wrong. I saw what Millie wrote and I was like DUH! GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Oopsie. Better break out that last prize of yours.

LOL This is one game that I totally stink at! Oh well There is always 'L' to look forward to! I've seen the sign to my answer so many times, I cannot believe I goofed this up! :badpc::badpc::badpc: :badpc::badpc::badpc:

Keep trying! You're bound to get at least one. Right?

I would love to post more, so just a few things:

Letter is from Jiko
Super job!

I would know a world with "K" which would fit for this chapter.... "kotzen" is a German verb which translates into to barf or to puke (in the sense that it is not a refined word to use).... ;)

Oh, perfect!!! I tried Google translatoring (I love my new word) German for metalcrafting, and other things like that, but to no K word avail. I like the reference to our sad experience so far on this trip.

Poor Mike that he had to pay so dearly for his joy of eating fresh fruit. :sad2:

I think it was just too much acid, like someone else has said. Too much, too soon after other problems 2 days before.

And the little ladybugs you saw at the bakery are made from marzipan, as well as the little rolls with sausages which you can see in the same display. I just explained about marzipan on my TR and was actually thinking when I saw your post that I ought to link to it from my TR to further explain the use of marzipan. And for those who don't know what marzipan is: it is a mixture of ground almonds, sugar and a hint of rose water. The liqueur Amaretto tastes like marzipan if that is any help to someone. I hate it, Katharina loves it....

Dang! If I had known that, I might have gotten it! I LOVE marzipan. Every Christmas, we give the kids a big wad of it, and let them shape it with dried fruits to give as gifts! Mmmm!:lovestruc

Awww sorry to hear about your husband - :sad2:  :sad2: - hope he is enjoying fresh berries now without any negative ramifications.

Beautiful photos!:)

He is, although, I'm only VERY rarely willing to pay winter prices for them. For the amounts he likes to consume, he'll have to wait until I go picking this summer again.

Very nice pictures Liesa! I love the markets in Nuremberg, they have always great vegetables, as the area around the city produces lots of good vegetables, it is called Knoblauchland - garlic land.

I think the K is from Jiko

Thanks, Katharina!! They were so lovely- everything was so super fresh and pretty. I loved how they displayed all the colors. I think I could have spent a long time there, just taking pretty pictures!

That is a funny name, and would have served my K purposes nicely! :rotfl:

Okay, I knew this one immediately, since we are DVC members, and AKV is our home resort. The K is from Jiko! We typically eat at Boma and Mara, so haven't eaten there yet.

Awesome!!! You really need to eat at Jiko, we had a great time there! :thumbsup2

Oooo! I know where the letter K is from! Jiko

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The brass ring was written about in the guidebook that Magdalene had sent us, and also on all the websites we studied. Glad we could bank a wish!! Mine certainly came true.

My son puked gummy worms into LeeAnn's hands when he was about 3 in her car. I guess she figured that catching it, was better than cleaning car carpet. He's never eaten them since.

As for kids "fogetting" - well, we all know how THAT goes. :confused3:rolleyes1

Your K is from Jiko's!!!

Liesa,
I LOVED the dresses and am so glad you all had a blast at the ball. Sorry your middle daughter is having to go through this and let her know many others around the world are sending loving thoughts and prays to her. Also Aussie are great dogs and I would suggest calling and letting the animal shelter in the area know that you are looking for an Aussie they may have a litter of them being born and then she could get her wish and you could say an animal in need.

Sorry to here that DH had to suffer through the again poor man. Loves Germany and the Fountain that is INCREDIBLE!!!

Been forever since I have been on here sorry about that being working major overtime cause we are down to my last day of work :goodvibes, then tomorrow is Patrick Surprise Party AND THE GREAT PRESENT:woohoo: ie he will find out we are leaving for Disney World the next morning!!! :lovestruc:cool1:

It's exactly the same, except, I'm reaching WAYYYYYY up to get at it. :lmao:

Actually, now that you mention it, I think you're right, someday you'd return to Nuremberg if you spun it. Either way, it grants wishes too.

:lmao::rotfl:I would have gotten the same response in my house too! :rotfl2:

Every house has a "Not Me" ghost.

I am so sad the berries made a repeat entrance.

Or exit, as the case may be. :lmao:

That's really neat about the ring, and the metalwork is unbelievable.

:rotfl2: That's just about right. Poor guy, in bed, in Germany. Yuck!

It was so intricate, it was hardly believeable it was metal and not black lace!

Yeah, it was dead on with granting its wishes. And you'll get to hear all about it, in oh, say about 5 months. :lmao:

Greedy has its consequences.

Wow! The artwork is amazing! And the ring story is fascinating. Now I'll be pondering just how it got placed in there...

It apparently is a mystery to this day- not even the master of the work knows who or how it was placed in there!

I'm really not sure if it was seeds or just the acid (or sheer quantity) of his indulgence?? But upset guts are just not fun for anyone!

I've seen that smilie before- it's one of my very all-time favorites. :lmao:

That fountain is just gorgeous. The ironwork is amazing.

Sorry to hear that your hubby ended up sick. I hope eventually everyone starts feeling better.

Yeah, we had to take the bad with the good in this case...

Okay, back with my answer: Jiko

Again, had to research. I'm not one of these people saying "this was sooo easy" and "knew it immediately"! :headache:

I don't think I'd have gotten it either without some research. I could have used the AK sign, but where's the challenge in that??

The letter K is from Animal Kingdom Lodge Jiko

Jill in CO

Super job!!!

I almost missed this one, Dani!!! You sneaky girl, you!!

I can't believe your trip is so close!!! That went so fast!! Will you have time to post pix on your PTR before you leave??

I'm sure you'll find lots of fun ways to spend all your OT $$ at Disney- splurge on desserts, buy an extra souvie and have the time of our lives!!

THat's a great idea about the dog! We certainly can't afford a pure bred, but either way, we'll have to wait until we move and become more settled.

Liesa,
TEE-HEEE yep I am definitely sneaky...I hope to have time to post the pics of Patrick's face but we will just have to wait and see how tired I am. Poor Travis will only get back into town a couple hours before the party after being gone for a week :(

Yea we can't believe it is so close too but it is and before we know it WE will be at the World of Mouse sooo can't wait and sooo definitely need this trip.
