speaking of crappers, take a look at this poster one of the workers in the Big City has produced!!

The title at the bottom reads: "Toilets along the Silk Road"- just in case you had to know.
Okay, where can we get one of these so we can send it to Jordan to hang in his room???
We were told ahead of time that we’d be just in time for a gathering of their home fellowship! What joy to be able to worship again in our heart language! For too long our family would have only ourselves to meet with in English- good; or with more bodies, but having to listen and sing in a language we’d never master quite well enough to have an easy time of in church- also good- but neither being ideal. This was IDEAL- more people, AND in English.
What a special treat and blessing! :thumbsup2
To be fair, he has the weakest stomach of all of us.
Say what? This after your gagging revelations??? :confused3 A match made in heaven, for sure! :rotfl2:
The rest of us, should have been doing the same, but we, instead, were taking great delight in having a Monk-a-thon inside.
Love Monk! :woohoo:
The kids also took breaks to be super goofy, and came up with this:

Aren't you glad you now have something to throw into the Halloween mix of tricks?
An oldie, but always a goodie!!! :)
She was NOT pumped, however, to discover that she had "mis-stepped" earlier in the yard. Guess who was elected to clean off Daddy’s misfortune as the driver waited??
Okay, instead of being forever linked with toilets and horse wieners, I'm guessing I will forever think of you when I misstep in something!!! :rotfl:
And because today's episode was brought to you by the letter:
,
it's time to guess where this is from!!
Wow, I couldn't comment on your TR update until I could finally answer this question. It took a whole lot of searching. I was suspicious where this came from, but it took a while to find a picture that was close enough and detailed enough to bear that out. This is the "C" in Palace for the Crystal Palace!!!

I'm still stuck on the fact that the hot dogs were horse meat. We live a very sheltered life here in the US.

Sorry Mike was so ill and that your daughter "found" it. Other that sounds like it was a lovely visit with friends.

OK All,

Busy few hours ahead of me... but will be back later this afternoon with replies and howdys~!!!

Keep those guesses coming!

I think you are right- that and bearing children.

I can only imagine!

WARNING! Graphic about horses... :goodvibes

I do know how much you love your horses! Sorry for upsetting you! I'm not sure when the shift happened here in N. America from them being beasts of burden and plentiful for the common man, to mostly (like 95%) used for recreation and riding for leisure- I guess when the car became common for the average wage earner. :confused3 In a lot of Asia they are still used mainly for either work, and even more widely for meat. They are just totally thought of in completely different way. My friends were just as stymied as to why we wouldn't use the meat after they were done working, and viewed it as waste.

Thank you for understanding. I completely understand different cultures have different standards and I'm open to that. Us North Americanians must seem pretty strange riding around on their dinner :rotfl: Really though you don't have to say it's graphic...just say ATTENTION JENBEAR DON'T READ IT'S BAD STUFF ABOUT HORSES hehe

Completely! It they are amazingly tasty!

I'll take your word for it ;)

I'll pony up the answer in a day or so... THANKS for playing!

Quit horsing around, would ya? :lmao:

So not only was Mike in major discomfort....the results therefrom where on the front lawn? Ay carumba!

What was the paper chain thing Anara was doing? I missed something there.

I think I'd have trouble downing horsemeat, even in weenie form. Although my dad ate some by accident back in 1980 and didn't know the difference. We were visiting my Belgian brother (exchange student we'd had) in Belgium and went to a market. One of the vendors handed my dad a piece of sausage or something and he tried it. Then the vendor said "paard", which was one of the few flemish words we'd learned, and knew it meant "horse".

I have no idea where that C is from. I'll keep ruminating on it.

Back lawn- where the cats and the doggies to roam.

I guess I forgot that part... Weeks before our trip out, Anara insisted on making a paper chain to count down our days. Nothing special or fancy- just plain recycled paper stapled together. She wanted it timed perfectly so that she would tear off the last one just before we got on the plane.

It is actually VERY close to beef- just drier a bit. Lots of flavor and way more lean.

"Ruminating"...:lmao::lmao: Is that the opposite of what Mike was doing?

I think my game mojo has come to a screaching halt. :sad1: But I'm gonna guess

Main Street Bakery and Ice Cream Parlor

We'll give a few others a chance to weigh in and I'll tell ya'll then. ;)

Okay, where can we get one of these so we can send it to Jordan to hang in his room???

Hmmmm.. since I want one for myself too, I'll check into it.

What a special treat and blessing! :thumbsup2

It was definitely a sweet part of our re-entry!

Say what? This after your gagging revelations??? :confused3 A match made in heaven, for sure! :rotfl2:

Well, MOSTLY, I just gag. Not toss my cookies.

Love Monk! :woohoo:

We do too!!! Such funny stuff!!

An oldie, but always a goodie!!! :)

WHO are these kids that come up with this stuff??

Okay, instead of being forever linked with toilets and horse wieners, I'm guessing I will forever think of you when I misstep in something!!! :rotfl:

Why, such a compliment I've never had! :woohoo:;)

You certainly are thorough in your research! :thumbsup2

Indeedy-do! Tasty too!

Despite the fact that America is well-known for its ethnic food availability, most are pretty choosy even when it comes to that. Take Sweet and Sour Chinese, for example. I don't see too many folks ordering bird's nest soup or duck tongues. ;)

OK, I'll stop horsing around!! AND give you fair warning! But come to think of it, I'm not sure the subject comes up again... however, if it does, you'll get a disclaimer so you don't get any night"mares". :goodvibes

If you are ever craving horse meat you can come out and visit me - our butchers around here have EVERYTHING! I've heard horse is actually pretty good.

So we've got bodily functions, horse meat and a full functioning toilet. Yep, this is Liesa's report! ;) :rotfl:

I'm glad to hear Mike started to feel better!! What an awful day to have to go through that though.

NO idea where that C is from....! No clue....

Without getting all out of sorts about this (I did enough of that earlier with Liesa).

I wanted to ask everyone to keep in mind everyone's kids who are away at college this year, after the scare here at UT and the fact my son's girlfriend is there......keeping it together.....it hit just a little to close to home for me today.
After my melt down with Liesa (away from Mackenzie) this afternoon I realized how out of control I really am over things like this (But God isn't),I needed reassurance and prayer to bring me back down to earth and to God's truth. And thank I thank God she did.

Millie - I'm so out of the loop on the news, what happened???

I do believe that NY probably has quite a larger variety of goods than in other places- esp. more than say the midwest - or heartland. Just a guess though.

Yeah, those things were like my whole life for the last 10 years- so they gotta enter the equation somehow. (Although somehow, I have a sneaking suspicion they'd be there anyway. :lmao:)

It was a long night- that of course, turned into two- since the whole next night was flying.

OK, you get a hall pass this time.

:rotfl2: You kill me Liesa! :rotfl2: Very witty of you

Nay, just playing along.

Sorry to those of you who tried to send me PMs yesterday and today. I cleaned out my inbox and we'tre good to go again. :goodvibes

Hi, Liesa. We're home and I have a lot of catching up to do...I hope to do so in the next day or two (also, I've started my TR...it's linked in my signature).

I let Marv win this one !!!!:rolleyes1

I know you have other worries right now- don't worry about this one! God Bless Christine today!

WELCOME BACK!!! So glad you're here- I've REALLY missed you! I know it's like WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too late, but I did take a few photos of some XXXL T's I found in the Emporium. They had only 2 (REALLY! ONLY 2!) left. But I did get SKU #s and prices- with photos. If you still need/want them.

Yes, I do. Nicki is going and I could have her pick them up if I like them for Mark for Christmas. Thank you for remembering to do this. :)

Love the potty poster-classic. Your visit with friends sounded great. Except for Hubby getting sick of course!

Love the potty poster!!!!

Horse hot dogs??? That is interesting. popcorn::

I'm kinda glad your hosts had cats. That way Mike was doing 'IT' it was probably better he was outside for that. :sad2: I remember reading about his sickness on your PTR.

You know I'm waiting for the next update! You were flying to Germany on this leg right?

Outside was certainly the BEST place for riding the vomit comet!

MORE TEETH BRUSHING STORIES????? :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Not necessarily.

You know I'm waiting for the next update! You were flying to Germany on this leg right?

That's right- Bavaria here we come!

Evening all !!Home from my 14 hour day!! All I can say is if you need info on how to shower someone who had carpal tunnel surgery and the next day cut /pulled out the stitches !!!! The surgical instrument he used was TOENAIL cutters !!!:scared1::scared1: Our RN gave me STRICT as in your life depends on it :rotfl2:instructions that tthe new dressing from the ER could not get wet!!!

Can't believe my trip is in 18 days !!!!!:banana:

I love how you had such a crazy day, and your 18 DAYS!!!!:banana: brings you right back to smiling!!!

I just spent the weekend interviewing prospective exchange students, so your report on culture shock really struck a cord with me! I know it is difficult, but I also know that things will get easier as time passes. Soon you will hate it if there are only 900 and not 1000 cheeeses to choose from!

Loved your update, especially the town pictures! Is this your running track?

The food thief photo story was very funny!

And how nice of these people to take you to your destination. Was that something very exceptional or is it rather usual to help each other out like that in Kazakhstan? Here in Germany the people in the former East-Germany very often tell how wonderful it was when they were still East-Germany because everyone helped everyone, but know since they have become capitalist people only look after themselves.

I was remembering myself, and I guess I didn't comment here. Leisa, it will get better. I remember being dazed and confused at Taco Bell - I couldn't figure out the menu - overwhelmed to the point of tears sometimes at stores, because there were too many choices, and driving on the wrong side of the road many times. Then, slowly it all made sense again! Praying for you.

Check this out...

Disney "picked" Lauren's picture!!! :) This is for their Disney Memories promo!

Can you guys "LIKE" it for her? She would be so excited to have some "likes" before she got home from school!

She is going to be so excited...

I think this link will work...

http://memories.disneyparks.disney.go.com/?CMP=KNC-DPMemBrandFY11Google&s_kwcid=TC|11537|disney%20memories||S||6259475413#/detail/1162

She looks so beautiful! I love your story, and I "liked" too!

Takes me days to catch up on our own thread!! Sheesh! I SOOOOOOO want to be on everyone else's threads, but until things smooth out around here, it's pretty much impossible.

You sound just like me, though. DIS time as a reward for "hafta do" things done. Hang around, it's about to go from the Barnstormer to EE.

I hate carrying cash- anywhere.

How does it look- guess I should try to click on it.

Yes, focusing on the positive-

-- Deer in my yard

-- drinking water out of the tap

-- a toilet that flushes. Every time.

-- people that drive in their own lane

I'm sure it will, I just need to give life more time to smooth out.

I used toenail clippers to cut many a stitch out- that's exactly what my doc told me to use on my kids. That's the same one I told that it didn't take a brain surgeon to take stitches out. Problem was he WAS a brain surgeon. :lmao: Yeah, open mouth, insert foot.

REALLY??!!! YOu have a free ticket?? To use anywhere?? Hmm..... let me talk to Cynthia and Cherie, Toni and Teri (sp.??) and Tammie, and see if we can all come up with a good date-

YES another DISMeet in the making!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

WHOO -HOOTY! :cheer2: I love Camille's expression!:rotfl2:
Little ol' me??!! I am thrilled, as you well know!!

Now, planned well, and timed "right", I don't think it'd stress me out AT ALL!! But I'm thinking maybe in November sometime. But before the holidays set in. Then you can get a taste of just how crappy the NW weather can really be. :lmao: We have a great Mexican place within walking distance with 2 for 1 margs on Wednesdays. The house will be all gussied up, and hey, we can even make a jaunt down to our "other house" in Salem for jacuzzi and tea by a roaring fire.

I definitely don't want to miss this meet, just have to convince Jim that you are not axe murderers! He actually believes that people on the DIS have made up this whole story about meeting each other and taking pictures together and appearing on Facebook with their real names so they can trap unsuspecting victims to come and visit them! Quite elaborate! :rotfl2:

Without getting all out of sorts about this (I did enough of that earlier with Liesa).

I apologize Liesa for my being....well, you know how I was.

So I ask of each of you to pray for ALL OUR KIDS safety, and pray for anyone thinking of copycatting something like this for the idea to be squashed and for them to be given a spirit of clarity and peace (and to get help) so as not to follow through with such an ugly and costly act.

I Thank you and many blessings.

We will now return to our regularly scheduled program. ;)

I heard that report, Camille. I knew Ty wasn't at that school, but I didn't know about his girlfriend. I did pray for all of you. It is so hard when your kids leave, without those kinds of scares!

Peace, I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
