THAT was awesome!!

Thanks, Rosie!!!

Hi Liesa, great to see you online briefly! :goodvibes

I hope your family will be able to get flights so that you all can celebrate together!

Some Santa POO!!

1085690223.jpg

I love it!!

I am so sorry, Liesa. My prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks, Kat!! I hope you are having a great Christmas week- I know this one may be hard for your family too. God's peace and every blessing on you this year, despite the loss of your dear and VERY beloved mom!:hug::hug:

You actually DO have really pretty feet in that picture, but what an odd comment! :rolleyes1

Ah, the long awaited Dis meet!

Take note of the feet.... more on that later.

I think it's safe to say, everyone there had a great time!

Lisa, sorry to hear about your grandfather. You will be in our prayers.

God Bless!

Glenn - Agreed....creepy pickup line.

Rosie - DED over the photo. Good show.

Thanks, GB!! I know I can always count on your prayers- and His faithfulness!

I had a good laugh over Santa on the "can" too. Great stuff!

It's 5, because T is

I'm not sure I can comment on the big DIS meet. The picture with the sunglasses doesn't need any commentary! :rotfl2:

Glad you all got to meet up. That's very cool.

I'm sorry to hear that, Liesa. We'll pray for you and your family. You'd think we would get used to not being in control of the world after a while, but it's still never easy to accept when your plans don't work out. I hope your Christmas is still special for you and your family. :goodvibes

Ok, I've noted your answers- final tally coming up!

Tate's such a fashionista!! Too funny!

Just heard my folks will end up only being about 24 hours late; they arrive at 8:15 tonight! :yay::woohoo: But will have to leave earlier than expected. Ah well, like you say, life isn't always predictable, is it?

Oh, and I have to agree that "You have pretty feet" is creepy and not a good pickup line. I can't say as I've ever really noticed a woman's feet, to be honest (please note my screen name). In fact, my screen name's origin has to do with my general cluelessness among women.

Certainly, a better pickup line would have been:
"Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?" :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Well you ended up marrying a great gal, so you can't be all THAT oblivious. Right? Especially with pickup lines like that!! :lmao:pirate::rotfl2:

Liesa, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, especially at this time of year. My sympathies are sent out to you and your family during this difficult time. We're all here to support you

Thanks so much Jen! It's great to have so many who will come alongside and support each other in times like these!

sorry to hear about your loss

and i dont remember ever answering a question write in the alphabet game, but i guess i did, normally i havethis expression when i see them.

but i did get one point so woo hoo.

Thanks so much Dan! And yes, you did answer one! Hurrah for you!! I'll admit some were pretty hard!!

I could help you out with that little Mac dilemma ;) Sorry to hear about your camera too! But what a great suprise to get in the midst of everything

I may PM you....

Not SUCH a bummer about my camera. I went out shopping today, just to start the research process... I REALLY want a DSLR!!

:yay: The POC is done! Time for a new super-de-dooper jobbie!

So thoughtful of the sisters to send you some goodies from Germany.

So, tell me what you know... Cannon or Nikon?? 3000 series good enough? I"m thinking I don't need the video capability. $499 a good price??

I LOVE me some marzipan!! I imagine each of us will get a much beloved dose of almond on Christmas Day~~ MMmmm!! :cloud9:

Liesa, I am so glad that you got the box in time! :cool1: And what great timing to cheer you up on a day when you really needed it! :goodvibes

The chocolates are all marcipan as well (some with flavours, but plain ones as well) - you claimed that your family likes it, so we thought that this would be a nice German addition to your Christmas celebration! :thumbsup2

The bar of marcipan is called a "Marzipanbrot" which means a marcipan bread. My family cuts it into small slices (but only Katharina, her DH and my parents eat it).

And I think maybe the box might have been opened by customs - stupid me forgot to tick the box "gift" on the customs declaration... I was very afraid that it would not make it to you at all - or that they would make you pay custom on it!!

REally?! The chocos are marzipan also?? WOW!! Double yum! When my MIL was alive and we were here for Christmas, we would always let the kids take a big blob of marzipan and shape it and add dried fruit or choco or nuts and package them up pretty for gifts for the men. Of course there was much "QUALITY ASSURANCE" going on as well!

You may be right. I didn't think of customs opening it. Good thought. No, I've never even heard of anyone paying customs on a package- I'm not sure they do that here?? :confused3

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: That's a good one Mark!!

Wooo hoo! For the package from Magdalene and Katharina! Those two are so sweet to think of your whole family that way. :lovestruc

Now that your old camera pooped out I hope you get a new camera for Christmas!! :yay:

It was SO thoughtful!! It was a total surprise; and I had NO idea they had sent it!! Thanks again, Flossbolna and nodnol!!!

Nope, I holding out for my iPhone (or droid). That will be the first thing I buy with my new job if I don't get it.

Hi Liesa,
I haven't posted much lately, but I have finally caught up and must say that you have gone through a complete whirlwind (literally with that tornado!!) the last couple of weeks. I am truly sorry for the loss of your grandfather. It doesn't matter if you weren't close to him recently, he was still family and it still has an affect on you. I have you and your family in my prayers.

For the updates, I kinda missed a few.:rolleyes1 I loved the fact that you moved your son into his dorm with economy. I hope he is still doing well, and will be home for the holiday (or is he there already?)? Congrats on finishing your TWO 5K's!:thumbsup2:cool1: I give you so much credit for getting out there and doing that! I can barely get my behind up off the couch.....moving on. How fantastic that you got complimented on your fabulous toes! They are quite stunning, I must say!:) Also I was glad to see that the DISMeet worked out so well. It looked like you all had a great time!

:banana: to the lovely ladies from Germany for your care package. It looks like it had perfect timing in getting there when you needed it most.

It has been a wild and crazy couple of weeks for us! We plan to actually start moving mid-January so it's only going to get crazier!! :scared1: We'll be left with an empty house to re-furnish, with no $$ to do it; good thing my kids are used to sleeping on the floor on pads. :lmao:

Andrew is back in Oregon for the month. I think he enjoys being back, but loves that he doesn't have to be told to take the trash out when he's at school! :rotfl2:

DISMeets are great fun; if you ever get a chance to get to one, definitely GO!

Magdalene was so thoughtful to have sent it! And yes, it was perfect timing to cheer me up amidst the waiting and wondering if my parents would be able to make it.

Thanks for reminding me I really need to get out there and get my run in today!!

Hi Liesa, great to see you online briefly! :goodvibes

I hope your family will be able to get flights so that you all can celebrate together!

I am posting in between cleaning toilets and making more cookies. Now that I know my parents will be here tonight, I need to make sure the house looks presentable today.

Thanks for your kind words, Liesa. I've been trying to surround myself with support this week, and so far it's working. :thumbsup2

I can't think of any better way to go through it- than together!! Enjoy the moments as they come, and toast your mom sometime in them.

I don't know if I could make it through a toast to my mom without bawling my eyes out!

However, it's a nice idea, and I think I may do that with my husband when we have a quiet moment on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Thanks.

I hope you DO get a few quiet moments of reflection; thinking of you, my friend!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers for you (and your family). You've gotten a ton of encouraging and beautiful words from friends here - keep those in mind when it all starts creeping back.

Earlier on Glenn and GB figured out what Cynthia had done with the new link. The letters DO re-arrange into a word that was ummm....rather thematic in the PTR. Can you see it?? I'll let you guess first.

Goodness, usually I am pretty good at an unscramble type of game, but I cannot get this one! Flatulence, gassy, toilet - none of those fit!

In case I do not get back here before Christmas, may you and your family have a wonderful and blessed holiday!

Thanks, Ladies!! It is hard to lose a family member, knowing that that last piece of 3rd generation heritage is gone. I had many memories of my grandfather- one being our travels together while I was VERY young. Our claim to fame together was him taking me to almost all of the 50 states I've been to!! :thumbsup2 While we drove along the highways and freeways, I'd do my grandma's hair. :goodvibes

So sorry I am late. So sorry about your loss. It is always good to remember the good times. :goodvibes

My dad has actually offered to pay my ticket to California if I can get away for the funeral on Tuesday (leaving Monday). We'll see... it would be a difficult funeral in WAY too many levels. Thanks for your encouraging words also. Things got off to an odd start this Christmas- but the past 24 hours have been great.

Look at those PTR Titles ;)

So sorry I am late. So sorry about your loss. It is always good to remember the good times. :goodvibes

Thanks, Pat!!! It is good to remember what was good. :goodvibes

what a sweet sweet treat at a much needed moment

Liessa Soo Sorry!!!:hug::hug:

Thanks, Ladies! It looks like I will indeed be going to California for the services on Monday. In between the holiday company and the big move.

Liesa,
I just wanted to wish you and your family a

:santa:MERRY CHRISTMAS!:santa:

You too!!!! Have a great day(s) with your family and friends! I can't believe it's already Christmas Eve's Eve!!:woohoo:

While my family is outside practicing their (tenuous) 2nd Amendment Rights, I have a chance to sneak on here and post a bit....

We Texan's looooove our 2nd Amendment Rights. Hee hee! Hope they got something good!

I wished you were there, too! Spring isn't soooo far away. Now, to get that jacuzzi fixed soon! Can't be having an Oregon Meet without the hot tub!! I hate that it's broken just in time for Christmas week!

Can't wait for our meet this Spring!!

Great smilie!! I see you pulled it from the Oregonian.

I thought you would like it. I guess I did, didn't I?!?

It is SO great to get to set 7 places again- actually 8. But it also reminds us at every meal that had Mom been here, it would have been 9. We really miss here this year!! We will miss her Christmas bread, her praying for us like crazy, and her spending hours with the littlest grandkids. Many happy memories!

I know just what you mean, it's been such a pleasure having Ty home and setting a place for him at the table. WHEN HE'S HOME!

Thanks, Camille!! I just got a call from my folks from California. They have had the meeting with the funeral home and the service (the first one) will be on Tuesday. So they will either fly in tonight or tomorrow AM depending on when they can get a flight. Could you pray that there will be flights available?? I really would love for them to be able to be here sooner than later. THey will have leave on Monday to get back down to Hemet in time for the service. Such an odd Christmas we are having this year!

I'm just so glad they made it.

Yes, the letters are: TGRASNE I believe. Think hard!

I finally got it!! :goodvibes I couldn't tell for sure if the G was a G, although I should have figured it out any way. I think the visual of the letters throw me off, I'm a very visual person and I think sometimes I wrap myself up in it and don't see the obvious. I would make a horrible artist! Probably why God didn't make me one!

Admit it. It was funny!

OH! IT WAS FUNNY! It just gave a visual I wasn't expecting! :rotfl: I told you I was visual!

Thanks so much Dan! And yes, you did answer one! Hurrah for you!! I'll admit some were pretty hard!!

Way to go Dan!!! Go Dan! Go Dan! It's your birthday, have a party!! <---This doesn't work unless you imagine me doing the Cabbage Patch at the same time.

Not SUCH a bummer about my camera. I went out shopping today, just to start the research process... I REALLY want a DSLR!!

Good for you and....WHO DOESN'T?!? :goodvibes

Nope, I'm holding out for my iPhone (or droid). That will be the first thing I buy with my new job if I don't get it.

Good for you! :goodvibes

I guess your FIL will be taking everything with him out of the house? If he's moving into an apartment maybe he won't take everything at first. :confused3

Magdalene was so thoughtful to have sent it! And yes, it was perfect timing to cheer me up amidst the waiting and wondering if my parents would be able to make it.

Yes she was.

Thanks for reminding me I really need to get out there and get my run in today!!

How did it go? I bet it was really good for you to go running right about now.

I am posting in between cleaning toilets and making more cookies. Now that I know my parents will be here tonight, I need to make sure the house looks presentable today.

Ewwww. Hope you washed your hands. Just messin with ya. :goodvibes

Thanks for your kind words, Liesa. I've been trying to surround myself with support this week, and so far it's working. :thumbsup2

TK, I truly hope your holidays will be more sweet than bitter, I have not lost a parent, but I can only imagine how hard it would be to get through the first holiday.
hug_pet.gif

I wish you every happy moment that you can find, and may you be able to relish in the wonderful memories of your mom this holiday without too much pain. I hope our prayers sustain you through this time. Merry Christmas.

Thanks, Ladies! It looks like I will indeed be going to California for the services on Monday. In between the holiday company and the big move.

I'm glad your going, even with the difficulties it's good your going.

You too!!!! Have a great day(s) with your family and friends! I can't believe it's already Christmas Eve's Eve!!:woohoo:

Tell me about it!! I never did finish all my cookies or the oreo truffles. Just to many things going on. Hopefully I'll be able to knock out a few more tomorrow.

This was great! Thank you. :goodvibes

Liesa, I wanted to wish you a wonderful Christmas - or in German: Gesegnete Weihnachten (meaning: "blessed Christmas"). I hope you will have many good moments with your family despite all those difficulties and that you will be able to look back at that first Christmas back home with lots of fond memories in the future!

Camille- So many things to comment on, but seeing it's 11:30 PM on Christmas Eve, the party being over, the stockings stuffed and breakfast goodies laid out, I"m 100% beat, and ready for beddy-bye!! Just know I'm wishing you the most merry and "Gesegnete" Christmas ever!! Love you, my friend!!

I imagine you're just about up and out the door for your Christmas services?? And preparing your holiday dinner! I loved being ahead of most of my friends for holidays- it was fun to wish them well first :)

Anyway, whatever you do today, enjoy yourself. Gesegnete Weinnachten!

I am really ahead of you, here it is Christmas morning! :) Merry Christmas! We had a lovely evening yesterday with a beautiful church service and dinner.
