Just watching a documentary about one of the most infamous killers in British history. A young man befriended a lecturer through the Church and conned him into marrying him, saying he loved him and so forth. Then he slowly poisoned him to death for the inheritance. The only reason he was caught was that the old man kept a detailed diary of his final weeks. Then the killer did it again to an old woman, persuading her that she was going mad.

Evil man.

I watch a lot of true crime programs on television. It still amazes me how nasty human beings can be to each other. It’s so difficult to know who you can trust these days.

On the plus side, it does help me when I am reading mysteries. I was reading one last night where the writer kept dropping clues that it was the ex-wife, and I kept saying out loud “No, it’s the best friend!”. Sure enough, it was the best friend. ::yes::
