There are some beautiful photos of the YC renovated rooms on the photo thread. I think the posters name was testtrackboy?

Ok raise your hand if you think Iam insane. I JUST SWITCHED BACK TO YACHT CLUB!!!! I took it is a sign that someone posted the lovely pictures. ys the wallpaper still remains but as a PP pointed out, I could get a drunk conventioneer or a screaming kid. I had booked YC initially 6 months ago and switched to BC on a whim when I guess I couldn't get GOOD information on YC. Lounge is being renovated and I guess it didn't seem as talked about as BC. So now I am back. And as much as I say a standing balcony would be ok, I really thinkI would be disappointed if I had one.....done with my waffling!:rotfl:

Ok scottmel. Repeat after me.

:hug:I am going to like my resort. I am happy with the YC. I am at Disney World and I will like my room/view/balcony/location. You will enjoy!:thumbsup2

My DH and I just got back from a long weekend at the Yacht Club. This was our first time staying there....we are partial for the Contemporary with the kids. We've been to GF and Villas at WL too.

We were extremely happy there. The Epcot Resort area is so nice. Very convenient for alot of options. SB was amazing.

If anyone has any questions about it I'd be more than happy to answer if I can:)

Does anyone know if the LV CL rooms have full balconies or are they a mix of both full and standing? I hate to spend the extra money on the view but yet one of our group can't upgrade to a GV CL room (using an AP discount) because the are a party of 5. I am considering moving our group GVCL to a LVCL to give them our room.

I wonder if this can be done or is it risky to release our room and then quickly book in reverse order. I would hate to lose the room and then I would have to pay more for the LV CL and STILL have a group without CL. Eek! :scared1: Anyone with advice/experience on this?

:rotfl:

That's a good mantra for all of us :wizard:

I promise to repeat it nightly!! :) I always always end up loving my resort! Last summer I had my heart set on BC CL but had to settle for BWI CL instead. MARVELous does not begin to describe BWI CL! I had a hardtime parting from there for this trip but SAB came calling DD....I will love it at YC CL for sure!:cool1:

How was the water temp at SAB? Warm? Comfortable? We'll be there in less than two weeks and we have two little boys who are DYING to get into that pool! :)

We're staying At BCV on Saturday night to celebrate DS turning 9 and we plan to be in the pool. So I will report when we come back or by iphone, depending if I am watching or swimming.

Weather report on TV yesterday said high of 78 and sunny on Saturday. Just hoping the winds aren't as bad as they have been.

That's so funny. When I read your post my first thought was "she's going to switch again to BWI" but didn't want you to take it the wrong way:goodvibes

We didn't go in the pool. It was cool and we really didnt have time to; however, the pool was very crowded despite it being cool.

Is the walking time to epcot much different between bc & yc? bc is a little closer to epcot, right?

also, is stormalong bay located closer to one resort versus the other? is there a lot of noise coming from the pool area?

my husband & i were thinking of visiting in october. we are both 26, no children. last time we stayed at a disney property, we stayed at riverside...but we'd really like to stay in the boardwalk area this time around. it just sounds like a lot of fun. we typically spend the mornings & early afternoons at the park, then enjoy some pool time in the afternoon, then head back to the parks for a few more rides & dinner. it'd be nice to have a place to grab a drink at the end of the day, or relax. we'd rather go to bed a little earlier & get to the parks when they open in the morning. Epcot is our favorite park, but we also like the rides at hollywood. anyway, if anyone has any opinions as to which boardwalk area resort (bwi/bc/yc) would be best for us, i'd love to hear from you.

thanks! :)

I would vote for the Yacht Club. We just got back yesterday after flights from ?&***ell. lol

Yes, BC is a little closer to Epcot in the sense you walk by BC to get to Epcot from YC; however, it's not a bad walk at all! Our room was 4097 and it was a King Bed room. The rooms have been redone and we loved it. Room 4097 . . . had a partial view of the Boardwark area... think of a U and we were the sides and the premium view room was the bottom of the U if that makes sense. It looked over a gazebo...it was very nice and peaceful. Not a far walk from the lobby at all.

The boat to take you to Epcot or HS was right outside of Yacht Club lobby, so convenient. Very nice walk to the Boardwalk area & Swan/Dolphin area. We had dinner one night at the Italian restaurant in the Swan for a birthday party for a relative who was staying there. So much in the vicinity that if someone didn't even go in the parks there was so much to do there.

Any other ques. I'd be happy to try and answer:) Oh and it was just me and my DH for a nice long weekend:)

Glad to hear you had a great time:goodvibes Question: how far was the walk from the YC to the Dolphin? We are planning on going to Piccabu's for a few meals because of the great variety on the menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner. We have never stayed in the Epcot area so I am a little unfamiliar to the distance. And...can you relate the distance to something...like the walk from MK turnstile to the castle or is it like one side of the Poly to the other end or ??? something like that:lovestruc

TIA
