Hi
Great thread - have just worked my way through it all and am so looking forward to our trip. :yay: Staying at BC for the 1st time in October. One question I had was do the alarm clocks have docks for IPods /MP3s on the top? I've almost convinced myself from the photos that they do, and it would be another less thing to put in the case!

YES, we can confirm as we used it last summer!

We just returned from the BC. We had a standard room and there was an IPod dock on the clock radio.

Just got home from our week long stay at the BC. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived at 3:00 PM. The CM told me that we had a room with a woods view and a day bed but he could get us into another room if we wanted. I liked the sound of the first room so we waited. We were in room 2604. Turns out the woods view was two little trees between our building and the BCV. LOL. I had hoped for a room on the Epcot side but the room worked out OK. It was very convenient to the Market Place for drink refills. It was also close to the lobby so I could go down there and hook up to the free wireless.

SAB was very nice but it was also extremely crowded during the day. We usually went in the evening when the crowd was greatly reduced. The slide was pretty cool.

The staff was very nice and attentive. The maid did a good job of keeping our room clean.

I got breakfast a couple of times at Beaches and Cream but I usually ended up going to the boardwalk bakery since they had Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissants. Everything at the BC seemed to be geared toward ham. Their Croissants and omelets were ham.

The walk to Epcot was very nice since this is our favorite park. We drove to AK and took the boat to DHS. We rode the bus to MK and the busses seemed to be longer than 20 minutes apart. Two DTD busses and two AK busses cames before one MK bus did.

My biggest complaint about the BC (and most of the other deluxes) is the lack of CS food available. The Market place had a few sandwiches to choose from and Hurrican Hannas had a burger, hot dog and a couple of other choices. We did get turkey sandwiches one night at the Market Place and I will admit it was very good.

Better go, time for bed soon.

Just hoppin' on the thread to get excited about our trip next month! Well, who am I kidding, I already am excited, but I need this thread to quench my BC thirst!!

Stayed at YC in December 2008 and BC in March 2009. Loved 'em both and am headed back to BC for two nights (after a week at THV) at the end of next month. Here's hoping the time flies!

Haven't stopped by in a while! Wanted to say hi to Teena...hoping your summer is Great! Has anyone heard if Art is around BC these days? We'll be there real soon and would like to stop by and say hi to both of these wonderful greeters. :goodvibes

Does anyone know the hours of SAB in September? I searched through the threads, but I didn't find anything.:confused3
Are all the rooms refurbished and do they all have queen beds now?
Thanks!!!

Hi!! Summer is fantastic. Just returned from Alaska. The cruise was wonderful. Everybody needs to see that remarkable place once in their lifetime! I'm on my way into work now. Art has been out for about two months and yesterday they told me he hopes to be back the end of August. Since I never get to see him (I work on his days off), I'm just repeating what other CMs are telling me. The BC has been asking me for the last two months to give them extra days and I've been working 3 or 4 days a week instead of the normal 2 (Sunday and Monday). But, I'm off again to help my daughter in her classroom ... flying out August 18th and won't be back until August 30th. Hopefully when I get back, Art will be back full time and feeling 100%!!

Hello

I am going to stay at YC in six weeks. I have stayed there before but since my last stay my son, aged 13 who is disabled, condition has deteriorated and have had to request a wheelchair accessible room which I believe has a roll in shower.

I wondered if any of you had stayed in one of these rooms and possibly had any photos. Also wondering if these rooms have been refurbished? I am assuming there are not very many of them available. Theone we have requested has two queen beds.

I would be very grateful for any information you may have...thanks :)

Andysmum - complete soft rehab at YC is due to be done at Halloween - so you going in mid September - you have a good chance of getting a refurb room. However since you need a handicap room this could limit your choices of course. I know the upper floors were completed first so I would definately ask for an upper floor refurbed room. My first trip there isn't until Dec. so I can't help with any pictures....There are picture of the soft updates over in the OTHER YC thread. I don't have the link anymore...Sorry!

Hi Teena, We are going to be arriving at BC on Sat, the 8th. :yay: I hope my family will get to meet you:goodvibes We will be there until the 15th and it will be our first stay at a deluxe resort, so we are so excited :woohoo:

Hi Teena!

So glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise!

I'm getting ready to make book our Summer 2010 vacation - just deciding between BC and YC! If we can eventually get another 7/4 we'll probably switch to the deluxe club room. If not I have a question for you. Do all the BC and YC gv CL rooms have balconies?

Decisions, decisions? Right now I'm either going to book YC or BC gv CL or YC waterview. Now I have to decide whether the dining plan is going to be worth it this time. Now I have two dd's who Disney thinks are adults so it will be four adults and 1 child so it will be close to $200 a day for the dining plan. I'm thinking now of booking a gv CL room and just using our TIW card.

Great to have you back before your next trip out to see your daughter.

How is the Beaches and Cream cs breakfast doing. I raved about it in my email to guest communications - HTH!

I have a res. for BCV-1br. Made it in December 2008. Paying rack rate and need to bring the cost down. AAA is not available, at least that is what I have been told.

I know I can stay someplace else but this is my 'always-wanted-to-stay-here' place and I don't want to give up my reservation just because it's so wicked expensive.

All you beach club experts, please help.

club level lounge question

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this is a question for Teena but I'll repost when she gets back if no one else can answer it. I am considering the club level for our Jan 10 marathon thru mlk day trip. My daughter is allergic to dairy and won't be able to eat most of the bfast items other than the fruit. Does anyone know if you tell them ahead of time do they accommodate allergies in the lounge?

Thank you. I am concerned that our need for Wheelcahir Accessible room is going to limit our options...just hoping we get a nice room :)

HI, TEENA

Glad you had a good time on your vacation. They go by fast don't they!!

We checked in this morning and our room was ready and waiting for us! We got a nice first-floor room too. Raining now, but we have spent some time walking around the resort. Tomorrow I will try to do some Beaches and Cream breakfast and report back for the curious.

It was so nice to meet you this
morning Teena!!!!

Good to hear. We had the pleasure of finally meeting him in March. Maybe we'll see you, too!

I'm excited to hear about it. Love the cheeseburgers, so breakfast will hopefully be great, too!!

There is one, maybe two, rooms up on the 5th floor on the Beach side that do not have full balconies but I wouldn't worry about that. If you get one (which I'm sure you won't), just ask to be moved to one with a full balcony. Since I'm 99% of the time at the BC and in the BC rooms, I'm not totally sure about the YC but I'd say all of them probably do have a balcony. Again, nothing you should worry about.

They've had free dining pretty much for the last few summers (at least in August) so I don't have any reason to think it won't happen again next year. So, if they do offer it next year and since we don't have a history of the 4/7 deal, you could maybe think about booking in August instead of July and maybe go for the deluxe room with the free dining to save money. Just something to think about. I think the 4/7 deal could happen again if the economy doesn't pick up ... if we only had a crystal ball to see the future.

I talked to one of the Market Place managers today regarding the Beaches & Cream breakfast and apparently it is going to end this week. She said they have had lots of positive comments but quite a few negative ones too, mainly from vacation club members that don't want to walk to B&C to get the stuff they had previously purchased in the Market Place. So, we have no idea of whether it is going to return or not. The minute I hear anything definitely, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
