Just a quick question, we are staying in a deluxe room- club level. I want to request any floor but the ground floor. I have a terrible fear of snakes/reptiles (yes, you can laugh!) and I would feel more comfortable on a higher floor. How far in advance should I email IPO with my request?
Thank You!

It's being enlarged!

Yeah, we are staying BC CL for the 1st time on Oct. The main complaint seems to be that the lounge is small. Hopefully, this will make a difference. Thanks for the info.

You can add that request ("fear of snakes, no ground floor please") any time. However, keep in mind that there are only six deluxe rooms and that means even with your request you still have a chance of getting it. If the ground floor room is the only one of the six that happens to become vacant the day you check-in, there is nothing that can be done. Requests are definitely not guaranteed. If being on the ground floor is a deal breaker, then you should think about switching to a regular CL room (they are all on the fifth floor). You also may want to talk to DisneymomX7. She has the same fear as you do and although we tried everything in our power to get her in the deluxe rooms not on the first floor, because that was the only one vacant on the day she checked in, she got that room unfortunately. She actually ended up really loving the room.

Booked Beach Club water view now having second thoughts would really like to surprise DH with Club level. Which room would you choose and why? garden view CL, lake view CL, or a deluxe room CL. Just 2 adults going.

I'd go with water view CL. That way you are right on the concierge floor, and you really don't need the extra space of the deluxe for only 2 people. I've heard that many of the water view CL rooms are a little smaller and don't have day beds, but again, for 2 of you, that shouldn't be an issue. I really like having a water view, and judging from your comment that you originally booked that, I think it's probably something you like as well.

:thumbsup2 I second that opinion. I don't think the extra space of the Dlx room is worth the extra walk to the lounge since there are only two of you. :)

OMG that was sooo me! We actually even considered switching to a regular cl room (BC said they would credit us the difference in price). They did however tell me that they would have the pest control people me extra vigilant around our room. We ended up taking the 1st floor room and LOVING it! It was steps away from the quiet pool (which the kids loved at night) and we were soooo close to EPCOT it was unreal. DH keeps saying that if we book the deluxe room again next year he wants the same room! (and he has a fear of snakes too!).

The funny this is ds did see a snake at BC (but it wasn't near our room) it was on the walkway! We've also seen a snake at the Poly, AK and Tom Sawyers Islands on our many trips. I spend a lot of time at Disney looking down to see where I'm walking!

I leave Thursday to fly to Seattle and the cruise leaves from Seattle on Friday. I met some super Disers at work today!!

I heard today they are still trying to decide whether to keep the counter service at B&C. One Food & Beverage manager told me they thought it would stay longer and one said he thought it would end soon ... he said the surveys and comments haven't been as positive as they thought. Our business is very funny. People might love something and they don't write in or tell managers about it. However, if something upsets them (like the "size of the yogurt parfait") they will fire off emails, letters and complain nonstop about how horrible the counter service breakfast at B&C is. So, I honestly don't have an answer for all of you as to if it's going to stay.

Guests and their comments, letters, emails, surveys, etc. are the ones that are going to control whether it stays or goes. If you guys want it, I strongly urge you to have everybody you know (you all I'm sure have friends that know friends that know friends that are Y&B guests ... past or future) flood the Y&B executive offices with letters and even calls wouldn't hurt. JMO

Teena,

I can't find the email address for guest communications (somehow I lost it on my computer). Do you have the email address and also one for the Y&B executive offices. We loved the breakfast at B&C and definitely want to voice our opinion.

BTW - Have a fantastic trip! What a difference, Florida to Alaska!

DisneyMomx7, didn't you just return from a deluxe club level room? Did I miss your report back or photos? I was supposed to check in one week from today,:sad1: but had to postpone our trip until Nov. I added a night to Nov. for my inconvenience!!! Now I will have to wait for three and a half more months!!! I really need to hear about the rooms and the lounge offerings. Did you take any pictures of the room or your view? HELP me out here!!!! Thanks!

Yes we had a wonderful stay in our deluxe room. I don't have any pictures but I can tell you with five people staying in the room for two weeks the extra space really came in handy! We ended up loving our room location too. We were in Room 1557. The room had so many windows. One window had a view of the Lake and Boardwalk, then we had the doors that opened up to the patio and two more sets of windows. The room opened up to the quiet pool and we were literally steps from EPCOT. It is a little more inconenient not staying on the CL floor but for us the extra space was worth it.

We thought the CL food offerings were great. We used the lounge mostly for breakfast, drinks in the afternoon (Ds loved the sugar cookies shaped like mickey) and some wine and appetizers before we went out to dinner. IPO staff was wonderful.

We are so hoping that they run another great special like this year (7/4) in order to be able to afford the deluxe room again!

If view is important, then definitely book water view CL!! You definitely don't need a deluxe room since it is just the two of you and being on the fifth floor instead of the other floors (deluxe rooms) is more convenient to the lounge obviously. If view is not important, then save money and go with standard view CL. There really isn't a garden view category although it is listed incorrectly as such on the websites when you book. There is only waterview and standard view. With standard view you could get a view of a parking lot or roof. If you are like me and never spend time looking out the window or sitting on the balcony, the view is not important ... I always have the drapes closed because the only time I'm in the room is to sleep, shower, change clothes. So, I'd go with standard view CL and the money I saved from waterview CL, I'd have a massage!

I believe the email address for guest communications is:
wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

The address for the executive offices at the Y&B is:
1800 Epcot Resorts Blvd
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Just finished packing ... two suitcases for both of us. Sweatshirts, coats and long slacks/jeans take up lots of space! I can do the Disney Magic 7 night cruise with one suitcase each. All this because I want to see a glacier before I'm so old that I can't get there without a walker!

Correct me if I am wrong, Teena, but that is one thing that bugs me about the BC CL. What I love about BWI CL is you pay for CL and are promised a pretty view - water or garden but a nice view. No price difference, just roll of the dice when you book. Water or Garden. I like that the BWI has a row of CL rooms on 2 floors and each room gives a great view (except for one room but even that is better than a parking lot CL at BC). I wish BC would take a string of rooms with nice views and declare them CL and you get a nice view booking club. I had initially planned a BC vacation but thought of CL and of course a step up in price but then another step up to insure a good view. I am ALL about a view on vacation. I am a weirdo but love sitting on my balcony when it is quiet and just relaxing. So the fact that I couldn't have a pretty view unless I paid AGAIN for it on CL kind of broke the deal for me. Maybe there is something I am missing or maybe a standard view CL is less expensive than BWI CL but I don't THINK so.....Is my logic correct?:confused3

I totally agree with you and most of the CM and managers will agree too. Unfortunately we were not the design crew. We'd love to ring their necks! And the standing balconies ... what a nightmare. Everybody wants a full balcony. It might look nice from the outside but really ...

I have to say though that all the waterview CL rooms are nice views and if you are a balcony dweller, then that's the only way you can guarantee a decent view. I do like all the CL rooms being on the same floor. The suites and deluxe rooms that are not on the fifth floor, our major complaint from those guests in those rooms are that they are not on the fifth floor with the lounge. I just like to warn people that if you book a standard or what the website says is a garden view at the Y&B, and a view is really important to you, you could be very very disappointed. Some of those standard views are just ugly ... no other word to describe them. They are fine for me because like I said, I never open the drapes when I'm in the room.

The price for the deluxe room is inbetween the price of a standard view CL and a water view CL. Those rooms have nice views ... all of them. Not all of them have full balconies though. So that's an alternative for you I suppose.

I'm big on telling people the truth so you get no surprises. If you know going in that you booked a standard view room (whether it be CL or not), and that your view could be an ugly roof or parking lot, then you won't be in shock when you look out the window. However, if you go into it thinking it's going to be a garden, well, you could get a courtyard view but there's just as much chance you'll get the parking lot or roof view. I HATE BAD SURPRISES!!

LOL, Teena. You are so right. I could wring their necks too! I keep thinking - via rumors on DISboards that a new code is coming out soon. I mean no big secret I a sure, there is always a travel incentive from Disney! :) But am thinking if they extend the CL 35% offer into December I might be rethinking my resort...AGAIN! I need a real job! :) I just hate a "bad surprise" so depending on the code will price the BC deluxe vs. BWI Club.... vs. YC CL.... Part of me hopes there is no code so I am status quo and out of my misery of overanalyzing!:rotfl:

Hey TeenaS, have a great time in Alaska. Living in Wisconsin, it took a long time for my husband to talk me into a cruise in Alaska. We get so little summer that it seemed wrong to me to go somewhere further north during that time. That said, it is gorgeous1 I fell in love with the state and I usually prefer beaches and pools. We did not think it was cold other than the day cruising the glaciers but we are from Wisconsin so it is all relative. On the cooler days though, you can tell who is from the north (wearing shorts/capris and t-shirts) and who is from the south (winter coats with hats/gloves). You will have a great time. We, on the other hand, are heading south. We are looking forward to heat because it has been extremely cool here this summer. We arrive at the BC on July 31st so maybe we will see you sometime during our week there. Have a great cruise and STAY WARM!

Thanks so much! I'll see you on August 2nd or 3rd!!

TeenaS - have a great time on your cruise. Our insurance agent which is also a close friend to the family took his wife on an Alaskan Cruise and he said they had a fabulous time. He said it was truly amazing and breathtaking. He would do it again in a heart beat if he could. :flower3:

Thanks!! I'm getting pretty excited. We're big time cruisers but never been to the northwest. I'm actually excited about seeing a bit of Seattle too. It's so funny packing. I have my normal cruise stuff all in one place ... water shoes, beach bag, cover-up, suntan stuff, etc. Opps, don't think I'll need that. Then we had to hunt for the sweatshirts. I have one hanging in my closet. The rest were in boxes in the extra bedroom. Normally we do it in one suitcase each but not doing quite that well this time. I'm taking all my Disney Cruise t-shirts though ... they say dress in layers. Wish I had Disney Cruise line sweatshirts too! I'm sure Celebrity will just love me.

I just wanted to let you all know that I did send a letter to the manager of the Beach Club expressing my excitement about the new quick service breakfast at Beaches and Cream. I also urged him or her to keep this service past the trial period so I could take advantage of this service in December.
Maybe I'll get a response. You never know.

Okay I had to post again... I asked a question on page 2 and I don't think I've seen an answer yet.

Do they still offer movies on the beach in December? Are there any other evening activities at YC/BC that might interest an adult couple without kids?

Thanks!
