Robyn; Did you find you had enough privacy on the patio? I always thought it may a bit too busy there for me with our guests using the side entrance.

We had a chance to use our last dining credits at the new Beaches and Cream breakfast this morning. Our family of four shared two huge, delicious breakfast platters (counter serve credit) and a yummy parfait (snack credit).

Do you happen to remember any other items that were available as a snack credit as B&C? It's interesting that the parfait counted as a snack credit as you can no longer purchase one at Marketplace with your credits.

Maybe they weren't supposed to allow it. There was some confusion when we ordered. We had a leftover counter service credit and I asked if we could use it for the parfait. At first they tried that, but it didn't ring up, then the cashier put it in as a snack credit and it worked. But I think you are right- the parfait does cost more than $4.

When I get a chance, I will write to the BC general manager and let him know how valuable the availability of a counter service breakfast is. I agree with everyone that the lack of a CS breakfast was the biggest drawback to staying at the BC/YC (but by no means a dealbreaker!!!)

That was a concern of mine too (although with my fear of snakes!) but hardly anyone used the side entrance when we were there. There was a lot of foliage and we felt we had plenty of privacy. One advantage to the 1st floor room was tons of windows! we had a window facing the Lake and Boardwalk, the patio door, and two other windows. I loved the deluxe room, of course I have to hope for another 7/4 offer or 35% code in order to be able to afford it again next year!

We also did the B&C breakfast and loved it. We had the Bounty breakfast (eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes and panckes) and the Pancakes with bacon platters. I did notice the yogurt parfait was a snack credit too.

It's funny how things are different from one place to another. At Hurricane Hannah's we could get a green tea with a cs meal and BC marketplace we could get green tea as a snack but not a beverage with a cs meal!

Wow - thanks for everyone posting about the addition of a hot breakfast at Beaches 'n Cream.

While we are doing TS breakfasts for 7 of our 8 days at BC, I was really hoping to get a hot breakfast on our one day off without having to do Cape May again.

I agree, while not a deal breaker, this is a terrific option! And about time considering most all of the other deluxes have hot breakfast quick serve options!:)

Hello! My family and I just changed resorts to the Beach Club- Deluxe Room Club Level! :cool1:We are so excited! The last time that we stayed here was in 2005. What can I expect with the CL at the BC? Has anything changed much at the BC since 2005? Also, we are arriving the day after Christmas and are staying until 1/2/2010...what goes on at the BC for New Years? Also, how are the Christmas decorations?
Thanks a lot!

We just got back from the BC CL deluxe room and LOVED it!

We didn't stay BC CL until 2007 so I can't compare it to 2005. We thought it was very nice. BC IPO made all our ADRs even including the Illuminations Cruise, cake order, gf spa treatments and a hair appointment.

BC CL lounge offerings were fine. AM was typical continental breakfast -fruit, bagels, croissants, cinnamon rolls, juice, coffee etc.

Afternoons had wonderful homemade chips with dips, a nut mix, and sugar and chocolate chip cookes (sugar cookies in shape of mickey!), soda, lemonade, water etc.

Appetizers were two hot appetizers each night (bacon wrapped scallops, chicken skewers, potstickers, egg rolls, duck quesedillas etc), cold appetizers (tomato/mozzarella salad, vegetables and dip, celery with peanut butter and raisins, pita bread with hummus, etc.). Also there was beer, wine and soft drinks.

Lots of desserts later in the evening along with cordials.

BC CL staff was very nice too.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

To answer your questions about the beds, I asked the CM in charge of rehab today to make sure I had the correct answer and she said the mattresses were not changed during rehab. The mattresses at all 3 resorts are the same and can be purchased through the book that is in all the rooms.

Also, someone asked where I work at the BC: In the Beach Club lobby as lobby greeter on Sundays and Mondays (and any other days they talk me into) from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM. when I'm not off helping my daughter in her classroom or on a cruise.

Thanks Teena - as my daughter would say 'you are better than the bestest'! :goodvibes

thanks for the info. we are staying BC CL in Oct. The IPO staff has been very helpful. They e-mailed my at 91 days reminding me of my previous requests to make sure they were correct as well as asking if I had any new ones. I had made a mistake on an adr request and they fixed immediately. Also, couldn't get the time I wanted for the Discovery Wildlife Excursion. They called as well as emailed to see if they could find another day or time for me. Luckily, they got a time and day that worked for us. Can't wait.

BC Deluxe room sounds great - do these rooms have full balconies? I have been checking to see if one would be available for our Aug trip but it seems they are all booked

There are only 6 of the deluxe rooms. 1 has a patio, 3 have full balconies and 2 have the small standing balconies.

The BC club level lounge will be down for a few weeks during August while they do some renovations in the lounge. Therefore club level rooms and suites that give you lounge access will not be able to be booked. That could be the reason you are not finding availability for the deluxe rooms.

Any idea what kind of reservations?

Teena - we miss BC soooo much! Of course I'm full into planning for next year's trip (if not one sooner). We thought we might do a split BC/Poly stay but DH said no way - he wants to stay the whole time at BC or YC. Hopefully we can get another great deal like the 7/4 so we can book the deluxe club room again! Thanks for all your help when we were there. Can't wait to get back!

Just joining the fun!:goodvibes We're starting to plan for a Spring 2010 trip to BC. We had a short stay there back in 2008 and can't wait to return!

Hi Teena,

We are going to be there August 2 - Aug 7th. Will the CL Lounge be open then?

Thanks.

We have never stayed at BC, so i have no idea of the layout of the resort but have read alot and it seems some of the CL rooms are far from the lounge. Can someone tell me how far are we talking? Is it farther than being at one end of a Poly longhouse and the lounge on the other? I really like the way at the Poly and GF, the lounge is in one building and no one room is too far away.

Thanks for the help and i am sure it won't be my last set of ?'s.

When we stayed at BC CL, we had room 5724 and our friends had room 5726 (which as you can tell from the map is as far away from the CL lounge as you can get) and we didn't mind the walk at all. 5726 was a HUGE room with a king bed and a partial balcony, 5724 was a "regular size" club level room with a full balcony. The view wasn't great (they're both standard rooms) but it wasn't terrible either. Immediately in front was a roof, so that wasn't beautiful, but if you looked past the roof you saw the bus area (which is actually quite pretty at the BC). I think it was a service area looking left - I don't remember, other than it was nothing special - but looking right was FANTASTIC! We could see Spaceship Earth and the Land...I could have just stayed on my balcony all day and faced that way and been perfectly happy. (Sorry I don't have pictures - my camera battery died the first day and i didn't have my charger!!)

Anyways..the only day the walk to the room was a problem was the night we finished the Tower of Terror 13K race and were completely exhausted and I had blisters that covered my entire foot. The rest of the time, the walk was quite pleasant and not as long as I've had to get to some "regular" rooms!

The one thing to note, though, is that the only elevator to get downstairs from the CL rooms is the one by the CL lounge...so we always had to walk to the "center" of the building and go out the main doors. On the lower floors you can request to be on the EPCOT end of the building and just walk down the stairs and out the building without ever going through the main lobby, but that's not true on the club level floor. (You can see this on the map Teena posted - the club level floor isn't as big as the lower floors)

Hope you have a great time! You really can't go wrong at the BC, the service is fantastic!

My favorite magical upgrade: One time a family of four (two teenagers and a Mom and Dad) came in the front door and the father just stood there and stared around the lobby. He made no attempt to walk to the front desk. He had a huge grin on his face. He was a very very large man, probably 6'4" and the one teenage boy was huge like his father too. He just stood there and looked and looked and had the largest grin on his face. He finally shook his head, looked at me (probably because I was staring at him) and said, "I've tried for ten years to get the family here and it's finally happened." I started talking to him. His family was walking all around the lobby checking stuff out. He said he always wanted to come to WDW and had about ten different trips planned and one of the kids broke a leg, his parents or his in-laws got sick, the son was a football player and one time his team got in the playoffs and things just kept happening that made them cancel every trip. Although the other family members seemed happy, the father was the one that really moved me. He said he grew up watching Disney on TV on Sunday nights - he absolutely loved Disney! You could tell this was huge for him. He said the youngest child was going to college next year and he felt this was their last chance. He asked me so much about the different attractions and was like a little kid. He was in absolutely no hurry to get checked in. He just wanted to be there and soak in the fact that he was there. I knew we were not full ... it was during an off period (not the summer or during a holiday). And I have the most wonderful bosses in the world at the BC so I finally told him if he wanted to get his vacation started, he needed to check in and I walked him over to the front desk. By this time I knew his name and where he was from. I told him to make sure he stopped by and saw me on his way to the room as I wanted to write down a few restaurants I thought the family would really love. I went into the back office and talked to one of the managers and asked if I could really make BIG time magic. They checked the numbers and asked what I had in mind and I asked if the Presidential Suite was available for the next 8 days or a regular two bedroom suite and the Presidential was. They let me have it so I went back out and when he came back on the way to their room, I handed him a paper that I had listed a few restaurants on and asked him what room he had. He told me and I said, "why don't you wait one more minute and I'll see if I can't get you a little better view." I ran in the back, switched the reservation, printed out the new keys and went out and told him I'd walk with them to the new room. When we got in the elevator and I put the key into the slot to get up to the fifth floor, he asked me why I had to do that. I told him, "I upgraded you to the club level." The family couldn't believe it. They asked me about the CL, they had no idea what it was about. I told them about the lounge, etc. The kids were excited by the food!! By that time we were there on the fifth floor and I showed them the lounge and then I walked them down the hall. When we got to the double doors and I put the key in and we walked into the foyer, the father had this strange look on his face - maybe he felt all the rooms on the fifth floor looked like this. I said "welcome to the presidential suite". The oldest son literally picked me up and twirled me around. Those that know me know I'm not small. This is not something that most people could do. The father actually started crying. After I showed them around the suite, the mother decided she was not leaving it ever and especially the bathroom. By that time some of the managers had walked up to meet the family and it was so much fun.

Oh that is such a wonderful story! Made me tear up just thinking about it - I love when I hear about Disney magic!pixiedust:

We had a magical upgrade when we stayed at the Beach Club last October. It was my husband and my fifth anniversary. We came down on a Friday for a one-night room-only stay at the Allstar Sports and then transferred to the Beach Club the next day. I have nothing against the Allstars, but when I walked into the Beach Club - I was starry eyed. The first thing I saw when I walked in the door was Art, and I started squeeing with joy to finally get to meet him! (I had never been inside the Beach Club before)

It was fairly early in the day when we checked in (since we had transferred over from the Allstars - I was anxious to get my "real trip" started!) so there was no one in line. When I got to the front desk the CMs started giggling (some because they knew what was coming, and some just laughing with me for my overwhelming joy :goodvibes)...then they handed me a beautiful rose and told me that I was being upgraded to club level for my anniversary!!!

A very sweet CM from the front desk walked my husband and I over to the elevators, giving us a tour of the general lobby area as we went, and then took us up to the CL lounge to checkin.

We had friends along on the trip, and they got upgraded as well, to the room next to ours (we had linked reservations) - so this was such an exciting trip for all of us! (Also, the wonderful club level staff gave my friends a tour of the presidential suite one day because they were curious...they said it was magnificent! I can see if they took any pictures, but I don't think they had their cameras with them at the time)

The only disappointment for us was that we didn't get to meet Teena (surprise...she was on a cruise ;)) but we had such a lovely, relaxing trip and my DH and I were able to meet her on a later vacation. :cheer2: The next time I can afford to stay at a deluxe, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the BC - everything about the hotel was just perfect!

HI there! We will be having breakfast in the Captain Grille and then dinner at the Yatchman Steakhouse. Where do we park and can we leave the car there all day?? Seems to me that if people are coming to the boardwalk area there must be parking for that? Maybe i need to do valet parking. that i understand is good for all day?
