Ok, I need your advice again please.....

We arrive at the BC this Saturday evening (10pm ish). We have a one night room only reservation and than a 7day package reservation. I called BC yesterday to have them note on the reservations that we would like to stay in the same room all 8 nights (central WDW reservations said not guaranteed, so I figured I'd call), and again requested a "full balcony" (DH would really enjoy as this while myself and our 3 DD's get ready in the room). She said she noted it. I asked if I should do "online checkin," and she said I could just check in when we get there.

Also, our ME paperwork states Sunday arrival. I called WDW reservations and confirmed they have us for Saturday with the correct flight number. She said to cross off the 17th and write in the 16th.

Is there anything else I can do to be sure this all goes smoothly? I may be worrying needlessly - last minute panic?:confused3

Oh, I've also confimed with gardengrocer.com. Now we just need to start packing after work (how hard can that be):lmao:

You should be fine. If you get there on Saturday and the room doesn't have a full balcony (if we are full, this could happen), then don't unpack, go back down to the front desk, ask them to set up a room change for you the next day to a full balcony (when one is available), go to sleep and I'll see you Sunday morning. Obviously, this wouldn't be the best case scenario, but we can't guarantee you'll get a full balcony late Saturday night but I'm sure we could move you into one when one becomes open on Sunday.

Hi Teena! Hope you're having a great time with your DD.:teacher: Safe and easy travels home. :goodvibes

So you can bring your own drinks to the quiet pool from your condo? Do any of the indoor bars allow you to carry drinks out to the pool? Sorry for the lame questions, but where I live we can walk around with alcohol anywhere, whereas I know things are a bit more strict in the U.S. At home we could have any alcoholic drink poured into a disposable plastic cup, or into our own container from our condo, and could take it anywhere we wanted, including in the car!

Yes, you can bring your own drinks from the room as long as there is no glass. We often use a small cooler to put 6 cans of beer in for the pool area. I'm not sure about getting a drink at a bar inside to take outside. The major problem is finding a bar that does not serve in glassware. But you can always ask. SAB does have a nice pool bar area called Hurricane Hannah's. The quiet pools have no bars so you are either stuck walking over to SAB or bringing your own from the room.

This is correct. Sorry everybody. I'm still out in Vegas with my daughter but did manage to get on the computer. I'll be home Saturday night.

Hi Teena - hope you're having a grip trip with your daughter and enjoying some NICE weather!

Thanks. We will probably be at SAB most of the time, and we're not lushes anyway (in case it looks that way! :rotfl:) It's just that I have friends staying at Boardwalk and Dolphin who want to meet me up for drinks once or twice by a pool (so my kids can swim), and I know I can't bring them into SAB - figured the quiet pools would be OK, maybe no-one would care, especially if they were buying drinks and not actually swimming.

Hi Teena,

Would that work with us? I originally reserved a standard room at the YC for my sis-in-law before my brothers death. I kept throwing the idea around that it was her first visit to WDW and the first vacation without him in 19 years. I pulled some extra shifts at work (since being as nurse it was not hard to do) and upgraded us to a "water view" and I am really hoping that the water we will be looking at is the lagoon. Sorry I got off track. We arrive Sunday morning and would they move us to a lagoon view if one opened up or is the water views really of the quiet pools?

On taking drinks to the pool, Crew's Cup, inside YC, will absolutely make you whatever drink you like and pour it into a plastic, pool safe, cup to go. At nonpeak times, they do not always "card" you for SAB entrance.

Have a great trip!

Can anyone tell me what time SAB closes and what time the nightly movies are shown? I'm trying to plan our ADRs, and it would be helpful to know. We will be there in April (not sure if the schedule changes seasonally).

Thanks!

I would just wait and see what you get when you get there and if it's not the view you like, it certainly doesn't hurt to go right back to the front desk and ask if there is anyway you could perhaps have a lagoon view. You can also ask when you check in if it is a view of the lagoon or pool and if it's not the lagoon, you could ask if a lagoon view was available that you could have instead. Everything depends on the numbers on the day you check-in and the days you will be there. If all the lagoon view rooms are occupied, obviously there's nothing that can be done. I'm still away visiting my daughter but I talked to one of my friends I work with and she said we were going to be very busy Sunday and Monday. We honestly try to make everybody happy and if it is possible, we will do what we can to get you into room with a view you like. However, sometimes it just can't happen because of availability.

Oh, that's great to know, thanks!

We will be at bc feb 6th! :cloud9: My DMIL & DAIL (DH aunt) will be with us, so this will be the first trip I will feel ok to enjoy a drink with the kids around! What are some good drinks to have by the pool made at bc or yc? How about drinks while watching the movies on the beach?

Does anyone have any recent photos of the BC Concierge Lounge since it's renovation in the fall? I've heard it was expanded a bit and would love to see the layout and improvements, if any. Thanks!! :goodvibes

My favorites are the sunken treasure and the pina colava! Have fun.

Just booked 2 nights Yacht Club concierege for December - managed to get a really good rate on Expedia UK :woohoo:

We're considering 6 nights at Beach Club in late August. I have 3 little kids (they'll be 6,4,2 when we go). Opinions regarding a room at BC vs. villa? The studio villa costs the same as a standard room. Also, is a concierge room worth the extra cost?

Thanks!
Amanda

I'd pick a room in BC over a studio. You'd have two queen beds and a daybed (you might need to request the daybed with a 2 yo...Teena will know).

A studio has a queen and a sleep sofa. The advantage there is that when it's folded up, you have more floor space but I'd still choose a regular room.

Now a 1 or 2 BR is another story.:cloud9:

Oh, and a studio would also have a microwave, full size coffeepot and larger under the counter fridge.
