Another question on handicap accessible rooms (sorry), just wonder if anyone knows if the handicap accessible rooms at the BC all have a roll-in shower or just a tub with handrails for assistance? We will only need the handrails for assistance, so we don't want to take up a room that has a roll-in shower if we don't need it (incase others really need it).

Not sure if there is a difference between the handicap accessible rooms or not, or if maybe I should ask this question on the disability board? But no harm in asking here in the resort specific thread.

Different rooms have different facilities. It is best to book what you want through Disney's special needs department and be very specific as to what you want.

What are the deluxe rooms? How are they different from the regular rooms? We have already booked for 14 nights at BC but might change to a deluxe room, on looking at the WDW website are the deluxe rooms on CL?

When I booked I could only see Std View, Water/Pool View, Garden view Club level, Deluxe Club Level, Lagoon View CL, then 1 and 2 bedroom suites CL. So the Deluxe is inbetween garden view and lagoon view, what sort of view do you get with this room type?

Thank you :goodvibes

This is not a fact, but just my opinion: I think the reason the price for the deluxe rooms is inbetween the CL standard view and the CL water view is because the rooms are not on the fifth floor and therefore not as convenient to get to the lounge and CL cast members. Again, this is how I see it and it may be totally wrong. As far as the views, they are all really nice views. If you look out one of the windows, you will see the Boardwalk/lake and two of them you can see SAB. However, the patios or balconies (whether standing or full) could face a courtyard or quiet pool. None are bad views.

Keep in mind that the "garden view CL rooms" are really "standard view CL rooms". They are working to change the designation. Somehow it got changed two years ago to "garden" and nobody can figure out how. They are not garden, they are standard views. Some are views of courtyards, some are views of trees, some are views of parking lots and some are views of roofs.

If you are going for that length of time, I think a deluxe room would be great! The bathroom is the same but there is lots more "walking/living space". Keep in mind there aren't too many of them so book quickly if one is available.

There are 6 deluxe rooms now. The four original that you already know of. The other is 3691. Here's a link to some pics:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=27491620&highlight=3691#post27491620

I do know there are 3 with full balconies, 2 standing room only, & 1 patio (Robyn has this one last summer)
I haven't found additional information on the 6th room yet but it would have a SR balcony. Possibly Robyn or Teena will remember.

Thank you for the link! The view is great from that room! Do you know what the door is in the first pic? Is it for the bathroom or is it a closet? I don't remember seeing the door in the ones near the Quiet Pool. Also, by the view, it looks like 3691 is close to the Lobby area? I'm getting so excited for April now. Thanks again for the link!!

Each resort has HA rooms with roll in shower and HA rooms with the rails you are talking about. You'll want to contact the special needs department and explain to them what you need. They'll take care of it from there. The direct phone number is posted in the FAQ-thread of the disABILITIES-area of the DIS.

Well, it sounds like you are set if your cousin and her DH are the extra couple. You can sleep in the master room on the king size bed. Your three kids can sleep in the second bedroom. There should be a queen and a double sofa bed. And your cousin and DH can sleep in the living room on the queen size sofa bed. If you parents come that will be a different story. Someone will have to sleep in the living room unless your want to put a couple kids in with your parents and one in the room with you on a blow up bed. Then the living room is completely free. The layouts are pretty much the same. The difference between a dedicated and lock-off is just that a lock-off has a second entrance into the hallway from the second bedroom. The layout and bed configuration are the same. There are a few 2-bedrooms that have two queens in the second bedroom, not a queen and a sofa bed. But they are difficult to get and you have to actually reserve those rooms specifically. They are not a request.

We are an RCI exchange, so we'll probably get the 1 Q, 1 sofa in the second bedroom. Our other 2-br unit will have my brother, his wife and their 5 yo DS, and then one adult couple. Sounds like my parents are better off staying with them, as there will be a free bedroom anyway. I was only thinking about this so hard because it is likely that my parents will stay with us the first night, as the other unit has a check-in date the day after ours, and I was thinking it might be easier not to move them. But for the long haul I think they'd be better off in the other unit. My cousin and DH can fit there as well - they can sleep on either living room sofa bed without going over the max unit number - but if they sleep in the other unit, then there will be 3 different families vying for the 2 bathrooms, whereas in our unit there will just be two. Maybe my cousin will float between the 2 - a couple of nights with us and a couple of nights in the other unit, so that none of us has to share our living room space for the whole trip.

Do people actually have any luck in requesting specific rooms here? Or maybe a range for rooms is a better idea? Request floors? Would love to hear your suggestions on this topic. thanks.

We r thinking of staying at the BCV in December and when the Beach Club information came up, it said, "View Refurbishment Dates". Unfortunately when I tried to open it, nothing showed.

Does anyone know the dates of the refurbishment and what they are going to do?

Do all the 'standard' (not king) rooms at BC and YC have queen beds now? Just wondering if I need to make queen beds a request or not. TIA

I'm pretty sure Teena said that when the refurbishment was done all the beds were changed to queens. You can check with her to make sure though.

Teena, Help. Are they still doing refurbishment at BCV?

Welcome home, Teena!

:goodvibes

Based on what quirty30 posted I'm assuming the 6th one is standing room only.
1557-patio
2557-full
3557-standing only
4557-full
3691-full
????-standing only

Only one does.

Inside has been done for quite a while. They are planning an outside refurbishment ... not sure of when it starts but that's the one in December someone asked about.

Thank you Teena :flower3:

We are coming for 14 nights so maybe a deluxe room would be the way to go.

Van anybody tell me about the lay out of the one-bedroom CL at BC? I've been searching all over for a map or pics, but no succes yet.

The reason I'm asking; I just found out my mom has decided to join me for this trip. OK, nice, but now need to look at the sleeping arrangements. Both of us find it important to have our own sleepingspace since both of us have got quite different sleeping routines (mom turns in early, me late. Mom gets up early, me late).

Option 1; get 2 standard view rooms. Plus; 2 bathrooms, both have our own space. Would come to a total of $3618 for both rooms for the week.

Option 2; get a one-bedroom CL. This would give us both our own sleepingspace and enough room to live. Plus; CL access. My energy is limited, so it would be a nice little extra to have the lounge handy for some snacks and drinks, not having to go out in the more busy places. The room would come to a total of $3118.80.

We could do nice things with the $500,- option 2 could save. However, there are a couple of things I'm not sure about yet.

Am I correct that the one-bedrooms at BC come with a fold out in the living area? How comfortable is this fold out? I'm a bit apprehensive about this as both mom and me need a proper sleep. I'll be needing one with a roll in shower, but doubt this will make a real difference as the standard room with roll in shower also comes with 2 queen beds like non-HA rooms.

Where are the one-bedrooms within the BC? Are they scattered around or all on the fifth floor?

Which option would you pick and why?

(PS; I know I could rent points for a stay at the BCV, but neither like the decoration of BCV, so decided it will be the BC)

Teena- This is WAY off topic, but did Santa bring you a digital camera for Christmas? I think you know how I feel about photo memories

On my last trip, the person who had "around 1800" in the "How many raw photos will Dee snap on her Disney trip" was the winner. Hope to break my record in July!

Can't wait to say hello to you!

If you are looking to save money, I would go with 2 standard rooms and it will end up being less than the 1brm. Disney rarely discounts the suites. I'm almost positive I read awhile back that the 1 bedrooms are not located on the concierge floor. Teena will know:lovestruc ourlaughingplace.com has pictures of the suites and if you do a google search you should be able to find sites with more. They are banned from being posted on the DIS.

Great, will check out that website!

I've done the pricing on the assumption the 40% PIN-code I've received will work for the one-bedroom. If not, it's an easy decision of course. ;)
