My family of 4 (DH, DS and his girlfriend) will be traveling to the BC Villa (2 bedroom) January 22 for 7 nights. I booked this through RCI using points. This is my first time staying at a timeshare at Disney (we usually book a room)

Can someone please tell me what website I use to do the early checkin?
If the villa type that I want (view, floor...) isn't ready when I get there can I leave my luggage until my villa is ready? Will my luggage be delivered to my villa when the room is ready or does the desk wait until we come back for our room key?

Because I used points, do I get maid service everyday? or do I pay for maid service when I want it? Do they restock laundry soap, coffee, ....? Do they change the towels and sheets or will I have to wash them?

Can I walk to the Garden Grocer to get supplies or is this a phone call or website facility only?

Sorry for all the questions-but like I stated above, we usually reserve a room. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get closer, but this is it for now.

I am a DVC member and can answer a couple of your questions. I don't believe that you can do online check-in. As stated before, you will not have access to the DVC online check-in and I doubt if the reservation will show up on the main check-in website. But that is not really a major issue. When you check-in they can store your luggage until your room is ready. If you are using Magical Express, your checked luggage will be in your room later that day. If you bring in your own luggage, you normally need to call down to have it delivered. We've even stopped by bell services and got our own luggage when the room was ready. I hate waiting.

For view request, there aren't too many bad views. You should note that the balconies get smaller has the floor numbers go up. The largest balconies are on the second floor. I like a pool view. But there are many that like a view of the garden. Some on the back side get a pretty good view of the fireworks during Illuminations.

If you traded for 7 nights, then you will receive trash and towel on the 4th day. This means that mousekeeping will take out your trash, replace your towels, and replace laundry detergent and coffee on the 4th day. No cleaning is done. There are trash rooms on each floor if you need to take your trash out before then. You may want to bring your own coffee and laundry detergent. The laundry detergent is just one tiny box of Tide. The coffee is similar to what is left in most hotel rooms, a packet of regular and one of decaf. Sheets are not changed.

For groceries and such you can either order on line with Garden Grocer or you can hit the Marketplace near the lobby. They have standard breakfast items and such.

Thanks Eva- Can Illuminations (the sky ones) be seen from the lower villas, like the second floor? is it noisy on the second floor? Can I request to have the villa cleaned (sheets, towels, vac....) on the 4th day if I pay for it? (we will be there 7 nights)

Does the master bedroom have a balcony too or is it just the living room and second bedroom?

We'll just have to check in early (around 11) at the front desk and then make our way to Epcot for the day!!!!! Then back to the BCV after dinner. We have dinner reservations for dinner at 7:00pm at Rose and Crown, Illuminations is at 8:00pm this night - so hopefully, we can sit outside by the railing (we did this last year and had an EXCELLENT view). Epcot is open until 11:00pm for resort guests only, will we get a special bracelet from the BCV so we can stay late??? even if we don't have an actual villa assigned to us at the time of check in.

Higher parts of Illuminations can be seen from second floor villas that face Epcot other than those on one side of one wing....can't see Illuminations from those villas at all.

Most master bedrooms do have a balcony or share a long one with the living room. A few have a picture window in the master.

Do you mean is second floor loud in general or during Illuminations? Illuminations is loud on that side of the building but at all other times, we've found BCV to be quiet with the exception of an occasional inconsiderate family....rare in our stay there.

You can pay for cleaning any and every day that you wish.

Sorry can't help about the current policy for Extra Magic Hours as it's been years since I've done that. I'm sure someone else will help. However, you will get your room keys when you first checkin and those will assure that you can stay late in Epcot whatever the current practice is.

We are considering a stay at YC/BC or GF this April for a change of pace as we usually stay at Poly.

I have been looking over the many pictures of the refurbished rooms and I am a little confused on the furniture in the room. Am I correct in that if your room has a daybed, there is no upholstered chair and ottoman? This is huge for me as I really don't care about the daybed but a comfy chair, queen beds, and a balcony are a MUST. That is one reason I do not like the CR rooms as the only chair is a crazy desk chair. I need a comfy chair for watching TV and reading and such. I do not like to constantly sit on the bed for this. We spend a lot of downtime in the room for my DD8 who is PDD-NOS to unwind and decompress from the parks and avoid a meltdown.

Can someone confirm this for me? TIA:goodvibes

So, today I got an email. :) It was a really good one, because it was a new confirmation of our reservation. I opened up and found pixie dust.

I was expecting to see confirmation of our YC CL GV room, but it appears we got pixie dusted with a YC CL LV room instead! :cloud9:

We are there now, thanks to a wonderful upgrade from a standard room. We are having an absolute blast. I will respond in detail in a few days when we get home, if no one else has filled you in. The lounge offerings are terrific, but it is the friendly and helpful staff who are making things magical!

Hi there, thanks for the reply, only problem is we are leaving today:thumbsup2
Can't wait:dance3:

This was our first time at the BC and first time at CL- I imagine things are pretty much the same at the YC CL:

Here is my bit of advice- don't try to do anything yourself! The CMs at the lounge bend over backwards for you. "Where can I sharpen a pencil?" "Let me go down to the lobby and do that for you" "Where should we put our dirty plates?" "We'll get that!" etc.

Unfortunately, they don't come home with you so it is a cruel return to reality when your vacation is over. :lmao:

I made all of my dining reservations myself, but they cancelled a couple for me when our plans changed.

It was REALLY nice having our park purchases delivered right to our room!

You will LOVE it!

We were also pleasantly surprised (blown away, really) by an upgrade to Club Level. Here are a few reflections from our July trip. Hope this helps and HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!!!

It's wonderful there. You have access to the concierge lounge, with the 4 sets of snacks each day. You also have access to 2 concierge CMs there, who will make or modify your dining reservations, answer questions, or help you in some other way. You'll have in a room on the club level floor, too, which is nice. Definitely check out the lounge for a quick morning breakfast, snacks during the day, evening appetizers (which were great!!!) and desserts at night. Drinks are also included there. Enjoy! It's a real treat!:goodvibes

Our BC trip is a few days away--so much to do! This is 20-month old DDs 1st trip and 5-year old DSs 3rd. Is is cold in the Burgh and we're ready for some warm weather!

Anyone know if they still show movies on the beach?

We're hoping DD will nap after lunch each day. Is it possible to have mousekeeping clean the room by then? In the past we'd come back for a nap before they came--leave late afternoon again--and come back to no mousekeeping.

Teena will you be around this week? Hope to say hello to you.

Thanks for the help!

One of the first things I do after we get to our room is to call mousekeeping and request early cleaning for the whole trip. They've been wonderful - I ask that it be finished by 12:00 and it has always been done by then, except for one day when they had tons of check-ins/check outs and even then it was done by 2:00 and the mousekeeper was so apologetic. I told her I completely understood and thanked her for taking care of us so early all the other days.

We'll be there Friday for our family reunion! Dh and I have stayed at the BC before but I can't wait for my family to experience it! We are driving up from South Florida and they are flying in from New Orleans. Really looking forward to it!

:yay:

I think my question got buried. Can anyone confirm this? Also--the rooms with a chair and ottoman, are they smaller than rooms with a daybed or same size just different room arrangement?

I wonder if you saw a picture of a suite or deluxe room? At any rate, our YC room with a daybed did not have a lounge chair and ottoman. The day bed makes a comfortable place to sit and read though.

Mini-report: We stayed at the YC this past weekend and loved it. It was our first stay on that side of the resort.

I've always loved the decor in the lobby and found that the rooms are right up my alley. Love, love, love the decor.:cloud9:

I booked standard room but we received pixie dust and were on the club floor. pixiedust:

Cast members were a delight. Thanks to Cruci who met us at the entrance and escorted us to the concierge desk. She somehow remembered my name and greeted me often during our short stay.

Steven checked us in and was great. He encouraged us to go straight to the lounge to grab some appetizers as the evening service was just about to close. He even brought our paperwork to the lounge. Shakira was so thoughtful, too. As I went down to find my DH, she filled plates for us. So sweet and considerate. Vicki was so friendly that night, too. What a great introduction to the YC for us.

My DH spent a lot of time in the lounge Saturday afternoon and evening watching football as our son was feeling under the weather. Vicki and Jean were so hospitable. I know I'm forgetting someone else in the lounge but they were all great!

I met Woody, a YC greeter....delightful representative for the resort.

Finally, Sue at the concierge desk went above and beyond for me twice. She was able to pull together my itinerary despite some future reservations complicating the process. And when we checked out, there was a problem with the bill. It was not easily resolved on the phone so she made a trip downstairs to get it fixed in record time.

So the YC CMs really made this a fantastic first stay for us.

I was so thrilled to have a chance to chat more with Teena this trip. Teena makes any stay at the Y&BC/BCV that much more magical. Thanks, Teena.:flower3:
