Well we are back from our great trip to the Beach Club. My family and I got to meet Teena. What a wonderful lady.

We had a magical stay and were upgraded to concierge level. It was very nice and very much appreciated!

I will post a trip report with pictures later in the week. Still trying to unpack and get settled in.

What a wonderful surprise! Glad you had a great trip. I can't wait to read your report. I hope that we will be so lucky on our trip to YC May 2nd. But I have a feeling that since we are DVC members using points for our stay we will be in our SV room. Oh well, any room at WDW is better than staying home. We are taking our DGD(4) on a special trip with grandma and grandpa. I know she is going to love SAB. Looking forward to that report!

Oh, my, I could have written the exact same post! We arrived home at 10 pm last night after an amazing 5 days at BC, thanks in no small part to the "pixie dust" of a surprise upgrade to CL! We were also lucky to meet the wonderful Teena.

I will also be posting a trip report soon. Unfortunately, reality requires getting some work done first...:headache:

Holy cow. We have never ever gotten any type of upgrade. And from a standard to club level - WOW! Many congrats!

We're checking in on Friday. Can't wait.

We are the same way. The only upgrades we have ever received were paid for when we checked in. I wonder if that is possble when using DVC points at YC. I know on DCL it is possible. We upgraded our cabin at port with cash this last cruise. I guess it never hurts to ask about paying for an upgrade. But I never seem to be lucky enough to get one without paying. Not complaining, I feel lucky just being able to go to WDW.

We had a fabulous stay at the YC! It was our first deluxe stay after only staying in moderates. DH viewed all the moderates as the same and never really cared - "a room is a room" he would say. Well, after staying at the YC, he has changed his tune! YC is our Disney "home!"

We were lucky and got the requested king room. Our waterview was of the lake and we had a view overlooking the wedding gazebo, with easy visibility of the lighthouse and docks. It was perfect! DH spent his mornings out on the balcony while waiting for me to get ready. Unfortunately we didn't find out until our last night that we had a great view of the fireworks too.

We got to meet Teena on Monday afternoon. Teena, it was a real pleasure chatting with you! We didn't get to do the dessert party (we were already on sweets overload), but had a wonderful time at MVMCP. We even rode Space Mountain with only a 10 min wait!

We had such a wonderful stay that we have booked for the same time next year on a bounceback offer. Yay!! Maybe we'll get to do the Wishes dessert party then!

Are they still showing Disney movies on a big screen tv in the evening on the beach outside the Beach Club?

My family's first stay at the BC in July was unbelievable. GREAT vacation! Before we left for the trip, I decided at the last minute that I would put together a photo album for TeenaS, whose frequent posts about the Beach Club have been helpful to so many of us.

I PM'ed a few of the frequent or recent posters to this board, and continue to do so, asking for a few photos of their family at Disney, OR at the Beach Club OR with Teena. I want to thank the families who have responded to my request. Teena was SO appreciative of the book when I gave it to her at checkin. Here is a photo of her first look at the book. She said it was nice to have a reminder of the wonderful people she has met and to be able to put a face to a "screen name/avatar" of the people who write into the board.

I tried to include 4 photos per family on each page, I printed out the avatar and wrote screen names, and if the family provided their names/hometown, I included that, too.

I told Teena I would maintain this book for her, and send photos to her if BC visitors/posters want to add their photos. Please PM me and I will respond with my e-mail address for you to attach a few photos. You can provide me with your real name if you want, or not. Please note that this book is just for Teena, not shared with the public, if you have privacy concerns.

Dee (Natebenma)

Would you like to add any pictures to the photo album I made for Teena?
If so, PM me and I will give you my e-mail address. I will print out the photos and mail them to Teena.

Thanks! Look forward to hearing from you!

We just got back on Monday from Yacht club and we loved it!! Yes they still show movies every night on the beach if weather allows. When it was rainy they had the movies indoors in the beach Solarium. We didn't watch any of the movies since it was a long weekend without the kids for our anniversary. We just booked again for a trip in June with the kids :goodvibes I'm sure they will love it there. We booked Beach this time but DH would rather stay at Yacht since we had a nice balcony and the lobby is much quieter. I just wanted to try both resorts. I hope Beach is nice as Yacht.

Our 7 y/o DS is autistic and runs away. Do any of the 2BR configurations have 2 doors that exit to the hallway? We bring door alarms but we are afraid we may not hear the alarm on the other door. Can we request a 2BR with one exit?

Question...

I called 2 days ago on a last minute whim to have a cake delievered to our YC room tomorrow night after we check-in in the afternoon.

When I called private dining, I ended up with (hopefully) a 6inch cake, vanilla/vanilla with christmas colors. The CM I spoke with, I had a hard time understanding her English and she even had to call twice to confirm the colors, my last name, and CC expiration.

I'm not sure if we will end up with a cake or not?? Should I call back tonight and confirm it or just see if one arrives????

It won't be the end of the world since my parents and brother aren't expecting it...

What do you think????

There are a combination of dedicated and "lock-off" 2BR rooms. The dedicated rooms have a single entrance - the lock-offs will have two as the second bedroom is technically a studio room, with a door to an adjoining 1BR.

If you request a dedicated 2BR you'd certainly have a greater chance at one.

This is correct, except you do not request a dedicated 2 bedroom. It is an actual booking catagory. So if you did not book a dedicated unit, you likely will not get it. You should call right away and see if you can book one. Be sure to let them know why. If you are paying cash, this could be tough. I think I remember reading somehwere that the dedicated units are for DVC members paying with points. But I would call to find out right away.

We'll be checking into the BC later today! :goodvibes

Dh is getting off work at 3:00 and we will be driving up from South Florida. Three members of my family are flying in from New Orleans and we will be meeting them there.

Looking forward to seeing Teena!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at YC CL. The staff in the lounge were so wonderful and accommodating it really made all the difference.
The IPO's were so helpful and managed to get us some last-minute ADR's to use up dining credits.
On the subject of dining, we had the DDP and found that we didn't use all of our credits because of the lounge! When we left, we still has a couple of snack credits left and 15 quick service meals left over!! If we stay again, I would not bother with the DDP, it was just too much food for us :)

A few photos of the wonderful gingerbread carousel at BC:

Thank you for the post of the 2009 carousel at the BC. I have the 2008 as my wall paper and keep wishing I could be there this year to see the new one. Also thanks for posting Teena's picture. Now I have a face to go with all that wonderful advice she posts on this board.
