I remember last season we have two separate threads because so many people got annoyed with the off topic chatting.

Given that it started before the first performances presented for viewer voting, this is necessarily the chatty thread.

As a matter of fact: I'm going to suggest that we follow more general television forum etiquette regarding the other threads, i.e., we have one thread for each week, starting as soon as someone gets information on which contestants are going to sing what, and pretty-much ending after everyone has had their say about who actually got eliminated.

The thread titles would be something like "American Idol, Week of XX/XX/2008"...

What do folks think?

Something I just thought about... I cannot vote using DialIdol this year, to vote. I've moved my computers and none of them are near a telephone jack anymore.

I don't know....I kind of like having one thread. It's must easier to keep track of.

Regardless of what type of thread this turns into..chatty or just info on idol..i am IN!! i am so excited for the new season..nothing like a long running series to get me through the long cold winter hahah!

Hooray for Idol!! Can't wait to see this season with the changes and all, should be interesting!

I'm got so tired of Dancing with the Stars this fall, I am SO ready for a new season of Idol!! Though, I would like to see Simon Cowell try to boogie on the dance floor...

Well, I only care about a chatty idol thread. I loved it last season. It was so much fun. All of the spoilers from mandy. The chatting until super late every night. And especially the chatting live during the show. Good times.

Thanks! I have always been and will always be a Jordan girl! Although now that they are older I LOVE Joey's voice. On the new CD his are my fave parts/songs. They made their comeback and I just picked right up where it left off 15 years ago. I never missed a beat!


I'm in on the chatty thread! I loved it last season. I stayed up late chatting almost every episode. I had so much fun. I can see where it would be hard to keep up with one each week. I have no problem having 2 threads though - a chatty one and an AI only one. It seems that way everyone would be happy?

I agree, we can label one the OT chatty spolier thread and the other can be the Idols only thread. That was everyone can be happy. I know not everyone likes the spoilers and the chit chat that we did through the whole show.
