The 2009 American Idol Thread....

Not only is it again on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Fox wimped out, upgrading it to the more lucrative Wednesdays and Thursdays), but they've announced that they won't be doing any three-nights-a-week weeks.

Do note that Wednesdays' program is going to be 8PM (Eastern) this year, instead of 9PM. That makes a lot more sense, to me.

I think there are two Thursday's scheduled, during the audition and Wild card weeks

Paula was reading notes from rehearsal. Really she shouldn't be looking at those notes because we don't want to hear her comments on something we haven't seen.

This was only one of the poor excuses that the show tried to make us believe. There were reports from several people in the audience for the rehearsal that she wasn't even present to hear that performance either. I think the excuse then became that she was listening to the performance from a remote trailer on site. But before she tried that excuse, she first tried to say that she was reviewing David Cook's song. (Had to backtrack on that one because by that point in the show they were only giving David Cook positive reviews.) The last excuse they tried (and I think my favorite excuse) was that while Jason was performing, the producers were talking to the judges about changing something on the show and Paula didn't really listen to any of Jason's performance. Since she didn't hear anything she was confused about what review to give. How fair was that? All of those excuses are pitiful. Jason deserved an apology and the show never could be bothered to come up with one. I guess it wasn't in the script written ahead of time.

And it could never be even remotely fair unless everyone was only allowed to vote once.

I agree with that. How can it be fair if people vote however many times they're willing to redial? :confused3

WOW... it doesn't even seem like AI should be here yet... but I can't wait :thumbsup2

They normally show this in the UK too but i havent seen any adverts for it yet, hope they still air it over here when the new season starts.

We used to love american idol til that season with sanjaya. Some talented people went home and he got to stay.. i quit watching after that.

I need to find a way to sneak inside one of your suitcases.... never been to Disneyland. ;)

You should definitely try to go some day. I love it. Disneyland park is my favorite of all the disney parks I've been to. It really blows Magic Kingdom out of the water. (And this is coming from the girl that grew up going to WDW and didn't go to Disneyland until 2004.)

Animal Kingdom is my second favorite park. With EPCOT a close third. So I do love going to WDW too.

It'd be nice if it wasn't SO FAR AWAY. Did think of it earlier this year until Skybus went kaput. Lodging probably wouldn't have been so bad as I probably could've stayed with my cousin who lives in LA.

L.A. is kind of a long drive to the parks though.

But offsite hotels can easily be found for around $60-$70.

Yeah...NC is pretty far from CA. We're right in the middle of the country so it's just about equal distance for DL as it is to WDW. Although WDW may be a bit farther. And WDW requires a longer trip.

I'm waiting for American Idol also. It's the only thing I watch on TV.

Yes and as far as it being a talent competition it was completely unfair. But from in an entertainment standpoint it was gold! :happytv:

Well, I'd have to visit with him and his mother.... and then, if he's working, go see him as Shrek (he works for the "competition": Universal).

Well he could pull off the "faux hawk"!

:lmao: Yup. The latest in 2007 fashion! The PonyHawk!!! :rotfl2:

Funny thing is that I got a calendar for next year from Fantastic Sams (hair salon) and it had picks of all sorts of wacky hairstyles and one was a more pointy version of the "PonyHawk". :scared:

See? Sanjaya was just way ahead of his time. Who knew?

:rolleyes1
