The 2008 Unofficial Guide is available!

 Maybe a silly question... but a pp said that they listed prices for 2008; if the book was published before the new prices came out then they wouldnt be current... SO.. my question... If your planning a trip for the later part of 2008 wouldnt it be better to get a 2009 book?

I was the person who said that PASSPORTER includes the 2008 pricing. One of the many reasons why I prefer it over the Unofficial Guide.

I agree with you Minniemouse07, I get the Passporter also and got the binder version this year so I can just add any updates and have it all in one nice package for travel on my trip. If the unofficial guide comes out so early and has not changed at all from '07, it seems silly to buy it basically just for an updated cover lol. But hey whatever makes people happy I guess. Hope everyone enjoys them! :cool1:

Amazon just sent me an email today recommending the Unofficial Guide 2007, and Passporter 2006. Sure I'll take 3 of each, and a countdown to the Millennium calendar too!

Well, I'm willing to bet there will be a lot of old and outdated information in it...

Keep in mind that there are constant updates on their website, which the powers-that-be prohibit me from giving here. However, it's on the wwweb, and it's all about touring plans, and it's commercial, so one might find it with a little effort. :happytv:

I picked up mine yesterday at a Barnes and Nobles on Long Island.

I'm glad I got it before my trip becuase if I would have ordered it on Amazon I would have been out of luck.

The 2008 book just came out late last week. The 2009 book will not come out until roughly the same time.
Exactly... the 2008 book just came out (aug 2007) published w/o the recent prices that disney world just came out with.... If someone is planning a late 2008 (after august) vacation, wouldnt it make sense to get a 2009 book..? I would think that the 2009 book would be a better reference for a later vacation....

Do you know if the passporter includes the recent prices from disney?

I have the 2007 Passporter which is the most recent one and it has the old prices. I believe the 2008 passporter comes out in November.

I just got off the phone with Borders and they have the 2008 UG. He is going to hold one for me.

According to their message boards, the authors posted that they were able to update all the 2008 prices as well as the other info release around the same time (ie the MGM name change). The 2008 book was sent to the printers just after all the announcements were made. They are expecting it to be available in November.

If you check out their site there is a 30+ page preview of the 2008 book available for download!

I already have mine preordered!

Glad to hear it is in the LI stores - I guess I will just go there and pick it up instead which is hard to do with a 9 week old.

I had preordered it earlier this month from Barnes & Nobles - and on 8/22 I got an email saying sorry - your order is on hold and the estimated ship date was 9/20!! They just shipped the other item I ordered and gave me the option of cancelling - which I did.

Okay so all this time about books that save you time in the park and tell you how to get the most out of the parks and I went to Barnes and Nobles and picked up the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2008. I am a newbie here. Is this the right book so that I can save time. There were lots of different ones. I just want to make sure I got the right one....

Thanks!
Holly

The Unofficial guide is preferred by more people than any other WDW touring book.

Whether it's the right book for you...well, you'll have to let us know. :)

I think its interesting that Amazon.com managed to get me the Harry Potter book the day it came out (with a money back guarantee even) but the UOG won't be shipped for another week.

Cancelled and went to Borders - can't wait on Amazon, I'm going in 34 days!

What is the new one day park ticket price - isn't it $71 - I think that's what this book says but I don't know how they could have gotten that info in time??

Dobug

If i recall properly, the UG has a revised edition printed in February.

The book should point people to the UG-website's ticket calculator, which has the most up to date prices.
