I think I have already reviewed the acts for the Flower Power concerts this year, but I'll do it again for this thread:
March 19 - 22: The Guess Who Good band but missing Burton Cummings and they don't do "Broken", my favorite!
March 23 - 24: Petula Clark Not really into her music
March 25 - 29: Paul Revere and the Raiders Great show for a time or two, but the same jokes get old. Don't expect to hear Mark Lindsay.
March 30 - 31: The Fifth Dimension Never seen them live but will make the effort.
April 1 - 3: The Nelsons Wish they'd do some of their own songs.
April 4 - 5: Jay Black Seen him on PBS recently... I'll be there!
April 6 - 9: Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone Always big crowds but I only saw him once briefly.
April 10 - 12: Grass Roots Always try to see this local guy. Still a good show and great tunes!
April 13 - 16: The Happenings New this year, and I'll be there!
Apirl 17 - 18: Peter & Gordon YAWN... excuse me.
April 19 - 23: Starship starring Mickey Thomas I don't think we have ever missed an EPCOT appearance by this group. A great band just keeps getting better! A favorite with the locals- See this band!
April 24 - 26: The Ventures New this year...
April 27 - 30: B.J. Thomas Saw him once, lacks showmanship and enthusiasm but still a good singer.
May 1 - 3: Arlo Guthrie I'm just not into this guys music...
May 4 - 5: The Searchers New this year- I'll be there...
May 6 - 10: The Tokens see comments below...
May 11 - 15: Davy Jones Never seen this performer, probably never will... LOTS OF FANS in line!
May 16 - 17: Jose Feliciano Legendary performer...
May 18 - 20: Felix Cavaliere's Rascals If you love real rock n roll, you have to hear this guy! Great music, great musician with that BIG B-3!
May 21 - 24: Gary Puckett A voice that has honestly improved over the years, don't miss this guy! I never have...
May 25 - 27: The Cowsills New this year, but I'm curious so I'll be there.
May 28 - June 1: Tony Orlando Saw him one year briefly and I thought he put on a pretty good show.
THE TOKENS- Not really a "one hit wonder" group! Jay Siegel, as seen on the PBS special, does not tour with the group- brothers Phil and Mitch Margo are both original members.
Top 40 Hits:
1961- Tonite I Fell in Love......... #15 on the Pop Charts
1961- The Lion Sleeps Tonite..... #1
1966- I Hear Trumpets Blow....... #30
1967- Portrait of My Love.......... #36
We always get to at least one night- all three sets- for this group. Very entertaining, lots of fun and great music. You need to see this band even if you are not familiar with the TOKENS music.
