The guys are lightyears ahead of the girls this year. The only good ones last night were Carly and Brooke. The rest were... eh. I just don't get Amanda. She was better this week but it still sounds like drunk karaoke The rest I hardly even remember. I can't wait for tonight!

About the booing, it's stupid but it's all in good fun. Simon's always been portrayed as the "bad guy" and I'm sure the producers tell everyone to boo his criticism. It's all part of the show and makes it funny, even though I usually agree with Simon!

ETA: I really don't think she should be in this competition. I really don't. She has more than had her chance at stardom.

ETA Again: I just listened to David Cook's Hello performance on Rickey's and wow, I loved it even more that time!!!!

I was just reading that a minute ago and it's HYSTERICAL! I had no idea that Randy was in charge of PR while Carly was signed to MCA. That's not fair at all

And David Cook's been my favorite from the beginning and he's now the one I'm rooting for! My top 3 favorites are David C, Michael and Jason, in order.

Every time someone finishes singing & they go to the judges, there is a thumping sound, like someone is tapping on a microphone. I’ve heard it every night while the judges are giving their critique. It doesn’t look like it’s any of them doing it…I wonder if someone in the band is hitting one of the mikes? It’s totally annoying!

Has anyone else noticed?

I think it is the contestant turning off the mike so the mike clipped to their clothing picks up the sound. If the two are too close together you get feedback.

Yes, and it drives me NUTS. I *think* it's Simon and that darn moose-antler hand of his. He lays his right arm all over the back of Paula's chair. She has a body-mike on, and his THUMPing gets picked up by her mike.

It doesn't seem to be Randy. Or Paula. I am fairly certain that it is something that Simon's doing. He's the only one who's restless at that judges' table, it might be that the sound dept turns the judges' mikes on after the song is over. I would think that they would have to turn off the band's stuff...they're getting all their music ready for the next number and generally rummaging around.
(I hate to say this, but I really don't think it's anyone in that "fabby" band.)

But, yet *again*, the AI sound department proves how wonderful they are ... It's obvious that there is a problem somewhere on that stage - I've heard the muffled THUMPing every single stinkin' show. One would think that AI would have fixed it by now.

That's why I've been throwing in those little BARBS against Randy and Carly in my reviews. His praise of her is always over the top and OBVIOUS... and fake.

I had seen earlier today on American Idol's website that she said her favorite American Idol moment was when Sanjaya got kicked off. what was she thinking?? Like him or not, he had a lot of fans and she just made sure that none of them will be voting for her.
If I was on the fence about an Idol contestant and they made a comment that the best thing ever was when Elliott Yamin got voted off, I would probably like them less.

That's such a stupid thing to say. Everyone knows that you don't bite the hand that feeds you! Sure the whole Sanjaya thing was weird (and high-larious!) but you don't put down a previous contestant on the show while you're still on the show yourself. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I want Kady to go home. I am tired of her attitude week in and week out. She has a good voice, but has not done one good song.

My second choice would be Kristy Lee Cook. I am not a big country fan, but I do think she can sing. I just think she is so boring.
