I want to know this...I've heard several very strong voices....where do they go before the final 12? I hope some of these very strong voices are also versitile and we get singers more than stories this year.

Holy cow, another good audition show. What's going on? Do you think the producers actually listened to the fans' complaints from last year? :confused3

The notables for me were...

The girl who sang Someone to Watch Over Me. Excellent voice but it looks like she might be the "attitude" person this year.

And speaking of People of the Year, Michael from Australia may be the babe of the year. The fact that he could actually sing was a bonus.

The Mariah Carey wannabe.... umm, NO.

While I like the two Simon fans (the singer and her sister) did anyone else find that somewhat staged. I mean they just didn't seem all that excited.

Freakazoid of the night... The guy with the hair, long nails and giant fans. :scared1:

Surprise of the night... the 16 yo who had problems with his vocal cords. He was really good.

The guy who kept singing Leave Me Alone was pretty funny. Glad the judges took his advise. :sad2:

The tattoo girl from season 5 was OK but nothing great. I find the tattoos distracting.

The night's best...

The single dad. OMG his voice gave me chills. His son is cute but I thought it was his daughter. Long hair on males works best when they're a tad older.

Anyway, some real talent last night and not too many weirdos. Can't wait to see who shows up tonight.

I was probably most impressed with the kid who had the paralyzed vocal cord. He did an amazing job.

After these auditions with the crazies, there are another few weeks of auditions IN Hollywood and then it's taken down to 24. Then I think the show goes live and starts eliminating one guy and one girl each week and THEN....finally....we have our final 12. Takes forever it seems. Don't get too attached to anyone just yet!

Don't look if you want to be surprised. Of course I did look and was happy to see some of the faces I've picked out from the pack in the photos. One person in particular who I really liked but didn't think they had a chance.

If you can't stand the suspense, go here. :teeth:

I forgot all about Rickey.org, I love that site! Anyway, I looked at the pics and watched the video and I still only recognize one of them. I have no idea who the other people are and my favorite contestant right now isn't there, so hopefully he's in the other group!

It is Charleston, SC, tonight, right?

SSB from there, and looking forward.

Also agree some GREAT shows thus far... and lots o' talent. Will be a fun year.

This was the last girl to audition last night.

Why in the world is she on this show? Season 1 was so good because it was a bunch of unknown, regular people who needed their big break. I'll admit I got all teary watching Kelly win because it was exciting watching someone with a big voice from a small town make it to the top of the entertainment industry. If the contestants have already been there, and already have profiles on record label and VH1 websites, then they shouldn't be on the show! I don't even think votes count and I haven't voted since Clay "lost" season 2, but voting for someone who's already had a chance at stardom just seems pointless and takes a lot of the fun out of it. It's like the producers are only featuring them on the show to gain them more exposure. That's something that really annoys me about American Idol.

That is so wrong. She should not be on this show. She has a CD already! That really makes me mad. :headache:

Another fun audition show. Do you think I need help? :rotfl: I'm really enjoying them this year.

Highlights of the night:

The girl from Kelley Pickler's hometown was a no... thank goodness.

Randy and Crystal from the AI message board made a cute couple but need to find a new hobby. Singing wasn't their thing.

Michelle and Jeffrey could actually sing but Jeffrey was the BOMB! The man needs to lose some weight though for his health.

Amy, the 16 yo (the no sex girl) had a good voice but I totally agree with Simon... she was very annoying.

I didn't think London (the girl who lost her Dad to cancer) was all that good but the judges kept her.

The female pilot had a great story but not a great voice. She was let go.

Aretha was not very good. Major pitch problems but I still didn't think she was as bad as Simon said.

Joshua tried to sing And I Am Telling You and failed.

And Oliver, the new Dad, had a great story but a mediocre voice.

Best of the night from the people we saw - Jeffrey! :thumbsup2

Simonism of the night - After the no sex girl left the audition... One week in Hollywood will change all that. :rotfl:

I don't think either Michelle or Jeffery alone would've made it through the next round...

I thought Aretha wasn't that bad. She definitely needed vocal training, but she wasn't nearly as bad as Simon said.

I agree with you guys - hopefully a lot of other people will too and they won't last long.

I liked Jeffrey also!

The thing that's bugging me is there are several year this that have had cd's out. One of them was in Boys N Girlz United I think or something like that. There's alot more who have deals it seems this year on the show.
