Danny Noriega was voted off American Idol Thursday night — but he may already have his first gig, courtesy of Rosie O’Donnell. The former talk show host took to her blog to rave about Noriega’s performance and offer the 18-year-old one amazing consolation prize: a free cruise to Mexico on O’Donell’s R Family Vacations.
“I don’t know if you have to sit around the American Idol studio and look sad for the next few weeks — because I think that’s part of the contract,” joked O’Donnell. “[But] you got a free cruise. You and a friend.”
But O’Donnell expects the young singer to work for his vacation. “Come on there, and I want you to sing ‘Tainted Love,’” she says. “I think you’re fantastic. And I think you’re a bold and brave and beautiful young man. And I admire you, Danny Noriega. You have an amazing voice. And your hair looks good straight.”
Also on the cruise: O’Donnell’s pal and True Colors Tour partner Cyndi Lauper. The combination, O’Donnell says, would make a perfect duet — or trio! Says the comedienne: “You can sing with her — and me — onstage.”

She does have a very good voice and I have said that from day one. I dont know if it was nerves or what but its sad she couldnt show it on stage. She is still young and with her looks and her personality in the interviews I think she will be ok....I read the interview about how she was overweight and lost weight singing and dancing to Britney. There is why she is so good at doing Britney. I also saw her pictures...She is still HOT....Good luck Kady....I know I will miss you....

8:18 am and Paula and Randy are both on the Today Show and Paula JUST said "It's the best season ever!" again!!

Paula said David A seems to be everyone's favorite.

They both also mentioned repeatedly that this season has the strongest, most unique, multi-talented blah blah blah...

Paula can blah blah blah all she wants, as long as she keeps her paws off of David Cook.

I can't remember if she has told anyone they look beautiful yet this season. (that's her way of saying your singing was terrible!)

I think Randy is making more sense this year and Simon is his usual hot/cold self. He is a tough one to figure out. Although I do agree with most of his "constructive criticism", sometimes I think he insults the performers so they'll get more votes.

And, Ryan doesn't seem as snarky. I think he is trying to ignore Simon this year. That must be their new little game.

Wow if I were Danny I would jump on this offer for that reason alone. Cyndi is amazing! I can't imagine having the opportunity to perform with her!

My daughter and I are kind of hoping David Cook goes home soon - ONLY because he is good friends with my DD's teacher, who has said that if he comes home before the end of the school year she will ask him to come visit her class. I think I'd have to sign up to be a classroom helper that day!
