The 1st place you ever ate at WDW was....

All I know is it was 1982, and EPCOT Center was going to open in a few months. It could have been in the Magic Kingdom or one of the resorts. I have no idea. Most likely it was fast food in Fantasyland or something like that.

Wow, what a fun nostalgic wallow.

I actually remember my first meal - it was at the Adventureland Verandah, in the Magic Kingdom, now long gone, and it was June of 1983. It was a burger.

More vivid was my first meal as a married man ... July 28, 1980, in the Contemporary Resort, at the Gulf Coast Room, also long gone. I had prime rib. Our server said, "Wow, isn't that a beauty?" I thought he was talking about my bride. He was talking about the meat on my plate.

I have a knack of closing WDW restaurants, it seems.

Can you go to the following places-- Hollywood and Vine, Liberty Inn, and Chef Mickey's Dinner:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Lunch at Garden Grill in 2002. Since it's served family style I can be fairly certain of the food :thumbsup2 Annnd the server, don't remember his name but he was VERY flamboyant and tonnes of fun!!

Um yeah...The 1st time I went was in 1987. I remember bits and pieces of the trip but couldn't remember where I first ate in the park.

The next time I went was many years later in 2002 with my husband on his 1st trip ever was at San Angel Inn. I will never eat there again! The ambiance was great but the food in my opinion was horrible. I didn't feel well at all after that meal.

I think it must have been The Plaza in MK, in 1999??? It was really cold, so we went there because it was warm...lol...we had tomato soup....lol...

Captain's Cooks in 1996. We had just arrived at the Polynesian and needed some lunch. I had a pulled pork sandwich.

1985. I was 7. I'm not sure what it was called then, but it was the character breakfast buffet in the Contemporary where we were staying. I remember it vividly. It was the very first time I had ever had french toast and I thought it was the most wonderful thing in the world.

We were on the "Gold Key" plan where everything was paid for up front, so I remember having LOTS of Mickey Mouses (do they still call Shirley Temples that?) and tons of desserts all week.

Happy memories.

I love this thread--- I remember having a character meal at the Odessy center (flat brown building between test track now and WD)...must have been 1982? And I remember trying frozen yougrt in Tomorrowland for the
1st time in the late 70s--- a dessert of the future, was that prediction right???

And someone mentioned the Empress Lily which is ringing a bell--- I remember eating on a riverboat at disney--- late 70's or early 80's... this must have been the place....

First counter service I ate at WDW was Pizzafari.
First TS place I ate at WDW was Chef Mickey's.

I don't recall eating in the MK at all when I went as a kid in the '70's. If we did it would have been CS.

My first adult trip was in Dec. '99 and we had lunch at LTT. I had the Benedict Arnold. The waiter called me a traitor.

Flying Fish in August 2007, I had tuna tartare and crab cakes I think and we had a dessert sampler of some sort to share. It was really fantastic! Haven't been as impressed on visits since then though sadly.

On my first visit we didn't eat in any Disney restaurants, but on my second visit we ate in Sci Fi as our first ever TS meal. I had a BBQ chicken sandwich with a cherry coke, it was very good. And we loved the atmosphere so much we have been back since.

Breakfast buffet at Poly resort, summer, 20 years ago and it was fantastic.

We were on the gold plan for our honeymoon...we were treated like royalty the entire week!

We went in 2003 and ate CS. I do not remember what or where.

In 2008 we ate at Crystal Palace. DH wasn't too thrilled about these expensive character meals so I booked this one first since Pooh and friends were his favorite as a kid. His brother is even named Christopher after Christopher Robin (DH got to pick the name). DH went to WDW yearly as a kid but never stayed onsite or ate at a restaurant! They packed food all the time. Didn't even eat at CS.

AFter that he was hooked, turned to me and said "how many more of these meals do you have booked." He is addicted now.

We are now on the DDP. I have 6 booked for our next 8 day trip! :thumbsup2 I might even add one more. :)

In 1999 I ate at Sci Fi but I couldn't tell you what I ate. I do know that they gave us kids glow in the dark frisbees that said Sci Fi on them. I still have mine. :thumbsup2

I think mine was Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast. I was about three and ordered waffles, but couldn't eat due to all the excitement! princess:

First meal was breakfast at Chef Mickey's in 94. Buffet of course, but I remember loving the Mickey waffles! And Goofy terribly embarassed me and dipped me back and kissed me. My little sister thought it was hilarious and seriously told every single person we met!
