The 1st place you ever ate at WDW was....

and what year was it? for extra Credit what do you have to eat?

Mine was 1995 at Coral Reef. I had Alligator Sausage for a starter and then Red Snapper for main cource. Had this older server from Vietnam named Phiu who to this day (17 trips) is the best and most Friendly server we have had.

Mickey Mouse Ice cream :-)

OK. Seriously, I guess it would be Liberty Tree Tavern

Our first TS meal was in 1982 at the Poly. I think the name of the restaurant at that time was "The Coral Isle Cafe", which is Kona Cafe now. I had Tonga Toast and that's about all I can remember about that and the fact that it was delicious.

I also remember the Poly having a place called Tangaroa Terrace which perhaps also had the legendary Tonga Toast. My memory's a little vague, but I think there was also a restaurant called the South Seas Dining Room. Never ate there.

Anyone remember the chartruse (sp?) and green tile in the Great Ceremonial House?

We have also eaten at Tangaroa Terrace a couple of times and enjoyed our meals there too. I wish it was still there. I remember that being a buffet. We had breakfast and dinner there.

I don't remember the 1st place...It was '72 and I was 2 (turning 3). The first place I do remember is the Contemporary. Our 2nd trip was in '74 and that's where we stayed. All I remember is sitting at the table eating and watching the monorail go by. Even now, every time I go to WDW, I have to spend some time in the CR watching the monorail go by.

We stayed at Shades of Green and had the Prime Rib buffet for our first meal. The only problem was they ran out of Prime rib! Our first DW restaurant was Flame Tree BBQ, which was excellent! I can't wait to dine there again in May.

1979: Whatever the character buffet was at the Contemporary Resort at the time.

Anyone know what restaurant was there back then?

Lemme see ... there was the Terrace Buffeteria, aka the Grand Canyon Terrace, which had buffets for all three meals. I can't remember about the characters. It was absorbed into Chef Mickey's when the mouse moved in. There was also the Contemporary Cafe, which DID have characters, but I don't remember if it was a buffet.

Lordy, it's a bummer getting old. My memory is good - it just doesn't last long.

This is easy. Papeete Bay Verandah, September 1975. I had an appetizer of scallops in a sour cream/coconut/lime sauce, and the Pigs N' Prawns entree. All washed down with a couple of Seven Seas cocktails, of which we still have the souvenier glass. And while we ate we watched several sets of a hula dancer and a 3-piece Hawaiian combo entertaining.
Now THAT was a meal!!

I loved the Papeete Bay Verandah. Even though they don't list it, I still order a Seven Seas cocktail at the Tambu Lounge and the Kona Cafe. Some of the bartenders know it and the ones that don't can look up the recipe. :drinking1

Our first time: May 1976. We ate at the Pueblo Room at the Contemporary Resort and we had the prime rib. YumYum!

We ate at the Pueblo Room in 1987; it served an Italian dinner yet. Not great, but I liked the Grand Canyon Concourse when the dining area wasn't completely occupied by some incarnation of Chef Mickey's.

Coral Reef last year. A delicious pork chop that I ate all of after spending the whole day traveling, then a chocolate wave YUM can't wait to go back!

July 1, 2001 ESPN Club on arrival day. Had a BBQ Pork sandwich for dinner. First "Disney" meal was lunch at Crystal Palace the next day.

I just pulled up the Word document where I kept my family's ADR info for our first-ever trip together as grown-ups in January 2007.

The first table service restaurant we ate at was Biergarten. We would have eaten two CS before that... if I remember correctly they were Pecos Bills and Tangerine Cafe.

The other restaurants I booked us at that week were: 'Ohana, Boma, Hollywood & Vine (for Fantasmic), Le Cellier and California Grill.

My first (and to date ONLY) ts experience was at Tony's in 1996. I was 13 and have no memory of it, but my mom said I was being a real brat. Eh, teenagers. :confused3

I remember it well because it was only two weeks ago! Our first CS was at Sunshine Seasons and I had the chicken Caesar salad - yummmm...[wasn't too crazy about the strawberry shortcake - too fluffy].

My first TS was the next day at 50s Prime Time Cafe -- I had the pot roast. I was really hungry so it was delicious. Had I not been as hungry, I would have been a little taken aback at its unusual flavor [tarragon?]. My friends got the fried chicken which looked wonderful and plentiful.

Cosmic Rays back in Feb of '05. It was fine. I remember getting off the plane, going to AKL, and booking over to the MK for the first time. We were so tired and hungry, but we couldn't wait to get there and see the parade. We didn't research dining like we do know, but it turned out fine.

LTT Character Meal Dinner. Kids loved it we got to see characters and the castle our first Night on our First trip. Very memorable!

Crystal Palace for dinner. But that was back in the day when appy and tip was included on the basic dining plan. How I miss those days!!!!:rotfl:

Since being an adult and taking my children, the first place I ate at was the Crystal Palace for lunch, and I have never been happy with them. We have gone three more times throughout the years, and were lucky to even get one character at our table even though at least one person was there the whole time and we were there for at least an hour. I would not recommend it for a first ever dining location.
