The 1980's.... that fashion is becoming popular again, it seems.

I was listening to talk radio today when the host introduced some fashion "expert".... I didn't know her name. She went on to say that many of the fashion trends of the 80's are starting to make a comeback....

1. Colored Denim

2. Big Hair

3. She even said that she has seen a few sets of those lacy leggings recently....

I sure hope so! I kind of liked that look on a lot of women... :thumbsup2

We bought several minidress/leggings sets for DD for school this fall. They have been popular for a couple of years here. We also are starting to see hip slung belts, ballet flats, and acid washed denim.

Everything comes back in fashion eventually!!

Woohoo! I'll finally be "in the know". :rotfl:

I sure hope big hair comes back. Having straight hair has been a nightmare for me. My hair says the bigger the better.

my DH LOOOOOVES big hair (he still drools over the pic of us at my senior prom, LOL, which was 1989) so he'll be overjoyed when i tell him about this!

I just can't do it. Isn't there some rule that if you lived it the first time you get to ignore it when it comes back around? I had plenty of time in 1985 (when I was a senior in high school) to curl and tease and spray and feather. I barely get five minutes to myself these days. My legs are pretty much the same shape and I am basically the same size, but I doubt I would be as comfortable in skinny jeans with little zippers at the ankles. And really, who wants to see a forty-year-old woman acting so delusional? My eyeliner skills have also declined considerably in the last twenty years or so. I am thrilled with the eighties influencing musicians, but I just can't jump back into the clothes and the hair!!! Sorry.

I was afraid this was going to happen. Oh well. This will definitely be one of those times I'll happily not follow the "current style".

My hair does Big Hair so well. This is my year:thumbsup2 DD just told me Birkenstocks are in:thumbsup2

I finally get my hair to go straight, and the madonna locks and big do's are coming back? Geez :( :confused3

I work in a ladies' clothing store, and I assure you, the 80's are back! We've got our MXM section, which is the 'cool' stuff for teens and those in their early 20's, and it's full of leggings with lace trims, long t-shirts, big belts and--dare I utter the words--shoulder pads! :scared1:
I'm only 25, so when I was hired I was worried they'd push me to wear the clothes from that section, but I've been infomed that since I'm married, I can officially wear the 'contemporary' line!:rotfl2:

I saw jelly shoes last week. Not on anyones feet, but never the less!

I actually saw LEGWARMERS in the store the other day :scared1:

I had an apprentice come in to help me in legwarmers. She must be around 22. I stifled my smile because for her it is all new and cool. She is a sweet, very helpful kid so I didn't give her any style demerits THIS time!

I actually saw LEGWARMERS in the store the other day :scared1:

OOOHHHH! :cool1: I still have my leg warmers from the 80s. DH refused to be seen with me in them last year when I took skiing lessons. He said either the leg warmers stayed home or he did.

Yikes!! I don't know that I got into many 80's trends but I was in elementary school! I did have curled up bangs but that was it!! I can't think of any 80's trend I would happily wear today!

:scared: you mean the ones with the huge elastics in the waistband? we used to wear with the heavy socks and the ankle booties? with the oversized shirts and 10 strands of fake pearls?

Ahhhh. Good times. Goooooood times.
