The 100% Original POFQ FAQ

This question may have been answered before but I can't find it:

When taking the ME what resorts does the bus stop at and in what order. We stayed at OKW in september 07 and the ME bus route went:
OKW
SSR
POFQ
POR
If I remember correctly. Is this still the same or have things changed?

We've stayed at POFQ MANY TIMES...
The bus route has always been POFQ and maybe POR (depending on time of year and resort occupancy) leaving POFQ and POFQ-POR returning from parks.

I had a question about the seperant waterslide at the pool. Is it in a deep end of the pool? Is it ok for young children, say around 3 years old? Also, is there a kiddie or children's pool? Thanks!

Okay, my trip is booked and I can barely afford to go! My daughter is not much of an eater and I had a few questions. First, can you buy a half gallon of milk somewhere on the FQ property to eat cereal in your own room in the morning? If not, what do y'all bring to eat in the AM if you don't want to go to the food court? Next question: All rooms have fridges, right? What kinds of things can you buy on property to bring back to your room to eat/drink? Last question: Since DD's not a big eater, can she share a meal with me? It would not be worth buying her own meals as she's very picky and doesn't eat a whole bunch! We will not be taking the dining plan as an option....

The gift shop has a half gallon of milk for sale in the gift shop. I normally always eat in the room. I don't want to waste time in a food court or TS. You can let your daughter eat off your plate at TS's as long as its not a buffet, which character meals are. At CS's it's very easy to split a meal. You can bring whatever you want to eat, but no appliances to cook. I always bring snacks to eat, so I can use the snack off the DDP to take home. You can take snacks into a TS or a CS.

We ordered our groceries through Garden Grocer @ http://gardengrocer.com/

There is a $12 fee but we saved over $500 just by buying food for breakfast and the meal plan for lunch and dinner.

The rooms do have fridges and if you are not using a meal plan you can share whatever you want.

2 more weeks

We're using it too. The stuff looks kinda expensive at first, but then when you think about how much you would spend, it sounds great!

The slide comes out into a fairly shallow section (3ft 6in). The slide is fine for young children, but at 3 years they may not be able to touch the bottom so it'd be a good idea to meet them as they come down. You can also get free life vests for kids at the pool, which are suitable for the slide. There's a shallow kids paddling-depth pool slightly away from the main pool. For more info see www.portorleans.org?sub_fq_pool.htm

For those that have been, what kind of coffee maker is in the room? What kind of filters do I need to bring? Thanks!

I can't say enough good things about Garden Grocer. We've used them for the past two years and customer service is their #1 priority.:thumbsup2

Hi!

I am wondering how you get to DTD and what time the bus/boat runs there. We have 1030 BBB appointments.

Beleive it or not, I have read this entre thread- I just didn't take enough notes!

Thank you!

Transport & Maps
Disney Bus Transportation
The Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks and other entertainment areas can attract hundreds of thousands of visitors per day, and moving them around the property efficiently is a major logistical challenge. While you can drive your own car if you prefer, Disney run a fleet of more than 160 buses which are dedicated solely to ferrying you to and from the parks. The Bus Transportation page gives you all the information you’ll need as to where and when to catch the buses, plus tips on avoiding the worst of the crowds.

Sassagoula River Water Taxi Service
One of the unique features of the Port Orleans resort is the free rivercruise ferry service which transports guests along the 2½ mile Sassagoula River between the hotels and the Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island shopping, dining and entertainment district. The twenty minute boat trip is a very pleasant and relaxing alternative to road transport and shouldn’t be missed. For more information, see the Water Taxi page.

Has anyone been able to snag a room last minute at the POFQ?
I currently have only 2 nights booked from 8-5 till 8-7. I would like to add a few more days before I have to head over to the ASSp. I have been trying for several wks with no luck.Is there any chance if getting a room left?

The boat does not start running until 11.10am from POFQ so will be too late for your appointment. The buses start earlier (9am or before) to get guests to Typhoon Lagoon, and then they go on to DTD, so that would be your best bet.

We drove and pulled in a day earlier than we expected. We were able to walk in and get a room for that night. We simply didn't unpack our car until the next day when we were able to get into our regular room.

Hi, deb
Loved the maps. they came on Friday. I think I'll request building 5. I would love to add a few more days. When I called CRO they said the POFQ does not have the ability to booked rooms and that I would have to call CRO # and can not get same day room ressie . So I'm confused:confused3

In order to avoid paying luggage fees we just going to pack for carry-on.

In order to avoid all the small 3oz bottles of creams and toothpaste what does POFQ provide:confused:

Boats to DTD don't start running until 11am. Take the bus.
