HI! Sorry I have yet another question, "last minute" panic is starting to set in now!! :rotfl:

I wanted to send my room requests through to the hotel, but can't fax as I don't have one at home, and I fear my work would object to me faxing Florida all the way from the UK on their fax machine!!! Is their an email addess that requests can be sent to instead?
Call Disney and have your requests placed directly onto your reservation. This is the very best way to put in your requests. There is no way for guests to directly e-mail the individual resorts.

Just subscribing. We were set to stay at PORS but I think the size may overwhelm us. I had always wanted to stay at FQ but I know it's harder to get during the FD promo. Well I called today and we were able to get a standard room at FQ!!!:cool1:

Can't wait!

Ok, I've looked and looked, but I can't find a map of POFQ with the preferred rooms marked. Anyone have one? I've seen one for POP, but not POFQ.
I'll make one if someone will tell me where the preferred rooms are!

Can anyone tell me what room numbers are on the corners of bldgs 2 and 5? I would really like one of those rooms.

From our experience...most of the corner rooms in Bldg. 2 are king bed rooms. But we always ask for bldg. 2 and always had great rooms....they are either garden view, water view or pool view.

Moderates do not have preferred rooms.....your choices are.... king bed, standard or water view.
At POFQ, due to the small size of the resort....every room is a short walk to food court or buses.:thumbsup2

I have a water-view room booked, but I like the idea of being on the corner so I can see the pool area too. I will have my kids (14 & 12) with me and will probably let them go to the pool by themselves in the evenings. It would be nice to be able to keep an eye on them.

There's no such thing as preferred location rooms at POFQ. In fact, the only Moderate with preferred location rooms is CBR.

You won't be able to see inside the pool area from any ground floor rooms, due to the shrubbery. I don't know about 2nd floor -- there also might be obstructions due to table umbrellas.

If you are in Building 5 (as opposed to Building 2), there will also be a huge obstruction to your vision (depending on the angle), a large "clam shell" that acts as a band shell for some statues of a 'gator jazz band.

In addition, if you are in either Building 2 or Building 5 but are at the far end near the food court, you won't have a great view of the pool.

And of course, a request is just a request, so you might get a view of the river instead of the pool. I just don't want you to strongly plan on a pool view and then be disappointed.

I would actually prefer a river-view. I just hoped for both (maybe). I know - it's probably wishful thinking.

I also requested bldg's 2 or 5 and would love to have a corner room number.

Let me advise each of you against requesting a specific room number.

It is MUCH MUCH MUCH to your advantage to request what you want, such as "pool view corner room."

The resort itself only gets the reservation information from Central Reservations about 5 days in advance. Let's say many people stay for one week. By the time the resort is even aware of your requests, it is likely that the specific rooms you request are already going to be occupied for the first day or two of your stay, which means they can't be assigned to you. I'm not trying to be negative here, but another issue is just one of sheer numbers. There are probably 18 or fewer corner pool view rooms (total) in Buildings 2 and 5 combined. And you can't possibly put 18 different room numbers in as a request.

If you describe your request, this gives the room assigner a chance to try to give you what you want. If you just give numbers, he/she can't possibly know why you want those particular numbers ... if those numbers are all taken, you'll just get any old room.

I appreciate your help. I called today and had them put on my reservation "river-view, bldg 2 or 5, high up." I thought maybe when I fax in my request about a week before, I would put a little side note on there saying I'd also like a corner room if possible.

And the fastest, and easiest way to put in your requests is to make them on your reservation. If you didn't do so when making the initial reservation, call CRO and have your requests added to the reservation. When you check in you may certainly remind the CM of those requests, but they should go with your reservation about 4-5 days prior to check-in. Hope that helps!

We will be staying at FQ for the first time 8/31-9/4. We have breakfast ADR for Boatwright's, what is the fastest way to get there? DH will not want to walk. Is it possible to take the boat or would we need to take the bus? If we are to take the bus which stop would we need to get off at? Thanks so much

Honestly, walking might be the quickest way, it's no more than 10 mins and there's no wait for your transportation to arrive.

Alternatively, walk over to the bus stop and catch the first bus going anywhere and the next stop should be the POR South Depot, just outside the main building. Check with the driver though, just in case it's a direct bus rather than one serving both resorts.

Or you could take the ferry boat from the dock near to the swimming pool, which takes about five mins - but unless there's one just waiting to depart it'll probably take longer than walking. The service starts at 9:10am from POFQ, so it does depend on your meal time too.

Thanks Andre. Looks like walking will be the best bet. Our ADR is for 9:30.
