Where, which rooms, or what buildings would have the quietest rooms (rooms that would not have a parking lot view)? I am one of those who cannot sleep if there is outside noise occuring and yes, I also carry a "white-noise" machine. Disney or not, I need my sleep or I am very cranky the next day... :goodvibes

We were in 2272 (building 2, floor 2, room 72) and literally did not hear a peep for our entire 10 days! Quietest hotel I've ever been in!!

Nov 08 we were in building 4 with a parking lot view. I'm one of the world's lightest sleepers. Not a sound. This is one of the most peaceful/quiet hotels I've ever stayed at.

So quiet that I hesitate to try one of the value resorts, though I've been tempted just to save the money.

Dec '05 we were in building 4 on the opposite side facing the couryard and just a few steps from the food court. I agree this is the quietest resort we've ever stayed at. We were literally less than 5 minutes from the food court and never heard a sound in our room.

We were in building 5, second floor, corner room right next to the steps and very close to the dining area, and we didn't hear any noise at all except for one afternoon when children were running. I believe our TA asked for a courtyard view for us, we overlooked the hot tub, but we never heard the people using it at night. People noise was never a problem for us at all except that one time.

One thing you might want to be aware of is that the AC units do make noise. We actually had to ask for ours to be repaired because the noise was terrible when the compressor went off (room shaking, literally). They got rid of that noise and left us with a constant noise that was much easier to sleep with. We set it so that the fan blew constantly so that we didn't hear the unit going on and off all the time.

We were in building 3 facing the courtyard & 1 room away from the river view. Great location. Here are some pictures for those of you new to this thread & will be going soon....

Wish we were going back this year :sad1: :sad1:

I just booked my first on property stay at fq for 9/21-9/27.:cool1: I can't wait. Thanks for all the info on this resort.:thumbsup2

DisneyDonkey! - Just had to tell you, we are returning to FQ in May 2008. We loved our stay there in May 2007 - and we cannot wait to get back! We found the staff there so friendly and sweet. We stayed in building 7 - the furthest away - and yet found it took just a few minutes to walk to bus stop. One of the reasons too we are returning is the great bus service from FQ - we rarely had to stand - and in the evening we found we even had our own bus from Magic Kingdom. Enjoy your stay, we think you'll love it! Don't forget to take the relaxing stroll along the river over to POR! Enjoy....

Oh Disneyfan61!!! You've made me so homesick for the quarter! I wish I was going back soon:sad:

I've stayed in building 1 with a river view and found it very quiet. But so was building 3 when we stayed there. I'd rather stay closer to the food court and bus stop rather than have a river view. Sometimes I wonder why they charge more for a water view here. After all the walking one does in the parks it makes sense to charge more to be closer to the food court and bus stop like they do at a value resort.

Subbing.....We've stayed twice at CBR and twice at BWI and are looking for a new experience. Trying to decide between POFQ and POR is very hard!

POFQ is a small quiet resort. While kids love the slide, the lounge appeals to adults. Since the bus picks you up before POR you get a seat on the bus. I also love the fact that the hot tub is secluded.

Hi! I am new on the DIS! I have read through most of this thread and we have chosen the POFQ for our first Family Disney trip in January 2009! From all that I have read, I think that the POFQ will be the perfect resort for my family. :)

:welcome:

We will be staying at POFQ this Nov for the first time. Can't wait, this resort looks perfect for our family. Quiet and relaxing.

We are going to POFQ in Dec., does anyone have any pics of the resort at night? I like how some of the resorts are well lit at night, and I am hoping that POFQ is well lit as well.

Disclaimer - I notice weird stuff... ;)

If anyone happens to get room 1244 (We were just there from 2/17 - 2/24), sit on the toilet and look down at the tile on the floor. There is a black "border" tile design in the floor. There is a white tile in the pattern where a black tile should be. All of the rest of the tile in the room was fine, except for that one.

But anyways, the hotel was fine. But we were pretty mad that the pool was closed for renovation when we go there. We had no idea.
