We'll be at POFQ for the first time 9/21 - 10/1. I'm really looking forward to it. It seems to get such positive reviews and very few negatives. We've stayed at POR and thought it was great, so I'm pretty sure we'll like POFQ also. My DD 4 tells anyone who will listen that she's going to Disney World and staying at French Quarter in X number of days. I guess she's looking forward to that pool slide, LOL.

quick question - can you bring small inflatable swim toys in the pool - like a very small inner tube, and beach balls? I know last year they were using the noodles in the POP pools, but I don't remember seeing any inflatable toys. Thanks - only 20 days to go!!!

I'm a little jealous! We are going to Disney in October and decided to stay at the CBR and I am hoping that I will like it almost as much as I liked POFQ. My little DGD told me that POFQ is her favorite resort so I hope that she is not too disappointed.

We just booked last night and the only thing the kids want to know is how late the pool is open. Does anyone know? Also, do they close the slide at night? Looks like we may only get to swim at night and my youngest DD has her heart set on that slide.

The slide is closed at 10PM when the lifeguards go off duty. The pool stays open until midnight, but I think there were still people swimming after midnight.

The front desk told me it doesn't really close. I guess that's why I don't want a pool view room.

Thanks! You made my DD's day with that info. :yay:

Thanks so much for the pictures!!! I'm starved for pics ever since I booked the other night!!!

Thanks!

I just love this thread! Im soo excited to stay at POFQ its our first Mod! 81 more days!:santa:

I placed this in the wrong forum before, so I am trying again. I read that some of the moderates do not have bar soap in the rooms. Does POFQ have bar soap? I really can't imagine any hotel not supplying bar soap.

Yep. bar Soap. Just like a "real" hotel. :thumbsup2

I didn't know any moderates had liquid soap. I thought it was just the All-Stars. I think even the Pop Century has bar soap.

The resorts switched over to H2O products recently... I think there is a bar soap included...

Do they still have the carriage rides between the two resorts POFQ and POR? If so, are the carriages decorated for Christmas? It would make a great Christmas Card picture.

Bump it up, in case anyone knows the answer!?

Anyone???

TIA!!!

Yes the carrige rides are still there. We stayed at POFQ in April and the carrige passed right in front of us with a family riding in it. It was so pretty. I took a few pictures of it, but they turned out too blurry. I don't know if they are decorated for Christmas, I imagine they would be and have the rides at Christmastime. They would look so pretty all decorated. Maybe someone else can help answer that.

We saw 2 horse and carriages going through the FQ. It was nice to hear the clickety clack. As for the bar soap, I did not like it. It is small round soap and doesn't smell good. I brought body wash so it didn't matter.

Is it worth requesting a building? It seems like any building at FQ is good (and I was in a less desirable room at POR last year and was fine).

I have not been yet, but we are booked to go for 2008. I asked the same question, and was told to ask for a building that was never a smoking building to begin with. I guess the previously smoking rooms still smell?? Not sure, but not taking chances with my severe allergy boys :)

Also, take into consideration where you want to be in location to the pool, dining hall, bus stops, etc. I picked the farthest building (7 I think), because I like my quiet at night :) But even this building is only a 3 minute walk or so ( so I've heard). I know there are maps posted on certain sites. Maybe someone else knows where to go for those....

Which buildings were the non-smoking buildings?
