Last month we ended up changing our resort from CSR to POFQ. I feel better about it. I was worried about there not being enough shade at CSR in Sept(which is important to me). Plus- I'll be 6 months pregnant, so the idea of a compact resort was very appealing.
Now I'm going so see if I can find some pics of the fridges there. Dh wants to know how much milk he can fit in one and if there is a freezer at all.

Sorry to ramble

Oh, I do have a question...can you buy-say a half gallon of milk at POFQ or even POR? If not we're thinking of using a co. like Garden Grocers (sp?) or something. Thanks! :goodvibes

the fridge was like a dorm-room fridge. Not very big but we managed to keep 2 half gallons of milk and a 2 liter of soda in it. There is the tiny freezer just at the very top. Not more than about 3-4 inches high--I think it's just made for an ice cube tray. The gift shop at POFQ had your basic grocery needs--milk, juice, snacks--but EXPENSIVE! But it was worth it to us for the convenience of having it in our room. Also, the food court has fruit and milk and cereal. I don't know if you're doing the dining plan but they let you get a single cereal and a milk for 1 snack credit. It was great for a quick breakfast.
Hope this helps! Have a great trip...

Can anyone give me more things that are in the gift shop? (Food Items) They don't happen to have yogurt, do they? Eh, we'll probably stop at the grocery store.

I don't know if they had yogart in the gift shop but I'm pretty sure they had it in the food court. The gift shop had loaves of bread and jars of peanut butter and jelly. They had boxes of donuts, chips, milk, juice, soft drinks, beer and wine.

Ok, this may have been covered and if it was I am sorry but it is late and my eyes are starting to glaze. lol

Does anyone have any information on the Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise for children. I wanted to book the pirate cruise for my grandson in Aug. but yes I was wayyyyyyy too late. So I got this. I assume it is Disney and will be fun. I read that they meet a Jester but that is all the info I can find. Has anyone done this or know any more info. please.

DGS is 4 and my Great Nephew who is 9 will be going.

So far, this is all I have found. Didn't know it exsisted.
Port Orleans Riverside offers the Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise. Children travel along the Sassagoula River to learn the "Jester's" way of life. Along the way they explore the Sassagoula River and finally meet the character known as the Jester. The cruise is held Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for children ages 4-12. Cost is $28.17 plus tax per child. Call 407-WDW-PLAY to make reservations.

Thank you, very much, Jenny-d! That was very helpful. I'm thinking we might just do the garden grocer. It's good to know how much milk we can stock up on.

Oh yeah, thanks for the tip of buying cereal/milk with the snack credit. I didn't know we could do that :) .
Do you (or anyone else) know of any other ways we can use our snack credits at POFQ? Thanks in advance.

Arrrggh ....I keep going back and forth on whether to stick with POR or go back to POFQ! We stayed there last year and liked it a lot, but wanted to try POR this year. The more and more I think about it, the qualities about POFQ that made it great ...make it seem like it's worth staying at again!

Yes, we too are staying here in just a short time and we are excited! We've never stayed here before so I know it will be loads of fun. I am learning alot from this thread....thanks everyone!

We used our snack credits here mainly at the end of our trip. We used up any remaining credits on Mickey Rice Krispie treats. The idea was to bring them back as souveniers for some friends and family but by the time we would have been able to share them they would have been stale. So we had to eat them ourselves instead ;) Isn't it the thought that counts!!

Hey POFQ experts.... I wanted to call and request a specific building... but which?

I want close to bus stop and non-smoking... should I also request a floor?

Thanks so much for all this information I have gotten already!

We were in Bldg 5 in June. It is on the river, next to the pool, next to laundry mat, *yes I did*, diagonal to the food court and just a short cut to the bus stop. We're going back next October and I'll be asking for that bldg! I don't recall anyone smoking. Also, be sure to look for the rabbits in the grassy area!

One sentence should sum it up. Getting on the bus first going to the parks!

Sometimes the bus filled up at POFQ and we'd just go straight to the parks. Also it was nice being able to get off first when you are exhausted! Hope this helps!

That's great to know... Now the plan is really 3 meals a day :) OTherwise we always pickup cereal and milk on the way or buy it when we get there.

I was in building #4-very convenient to bus stop and food court. We had a non smoking room. We requested and recieved top floor. It was nice and quiet for our party of 3 adults but for my August trip with the entire family (including kids & stroller) I requested 1st floor.

annasmomma, you cannot get 3 connecting rooms. We tried and we got 2 connecting and 1 adjoining. Guess they do not have 3 rooms. It worked out ok. Just ask for 3 and they will give you the 2 with 1 adjoining. Have fun~!!!

I may look stupid :confused3 , but what is the difference between connecting and adjoining rooms?

Thanks.

That's not a stupid question at all. Connecting rooms, at least at WDW, mean rooms connected by an interior door between them. Adjoining rooms means those that are next door to each other, but without a connecting interior door.

To my knowledge, the WDW resorts don't have three connecting rooms, but you might be able to get two connecting rooms, plus one next door (adjoining). This is what we got at ASMU last October for our family's Grand Gathering.
