jtdl, you have the best of both world! You can stay at POFQ and have your family enjoy it... and if your teenager doesn't like it, you guys can boat to POR and use their ammenities. Simple. I know your 5 year old will enjoy POFQ, your teenager might enjoy it too. Your children will never know if they will enjoy the resort until they try it. But like I said, there's also POR for you to enjoy as well while staying at POFQ. POFQ is wonderful for any ages. It is a very charming resort. It is quaint and peaceful... but yet very fun for the chilredren of any age. Have a magical time at POFQ!! POFQ is a wonderful resort!!

Your oldest likes to do. I have a 14 year old and he loves it. We have stayed there a couple times with him. He went fishing once and rented bikes. He also loves the little arcade too.

OK, yesterday, after reading some of these posts, I thought my mind was made up to stay at POFQ for our next trip. Now I see a new post and responses that these teenagers did not like POFQ. My kids will be 15 and 5. I know we will take at least one full day to spend at the resort. We have only stayed at values prior to this. I thought with the marina, bike rentals, etc. right there that it would be much better for a teenager.

How do your teenagers feel about POFQ?

Just getting ready to book a King room at POFQ for April 27 - May 4 2006. Wondering if you can specify a specific building 7 months early, what the chances of getting that bldg.

The resort is tiny and it only take about 5 minutes TOPS to get from any building to the parking lot.

I personally like building 5 or 6 looking out onto Beignet Square.

I have another question - how do I request which building I want if I book my trip through Expedia?? Would I just call Expedia and ask or should I call POFQ or fax them??? HELP!!! Not sure what to do!!!! We are going in May 2006.

I haven't booked through expedia. I guess after you make your reservations you could call the resort directly. Someone here once told me not to get my hopes up about getting the request filled. But every time we have been the were able to accomodate our requested room.

DD was afraid of the thunderstorm. No thunder yet. Taking the boat to Downtown Disney.

We're on our way... guess where? Do you guys notice anything... Look at the place... It's empty!! It's like a ghost town here! And that's what makes this place so peaceful... and quiet most of the time!

Again here is the current map.. for those who needs to know what bldg they want to be at and where things are at.

Building 4 does have smoking rooms, we stayed in a non-smoking room on the third floor and never smelled smoke.I cant stand the smwll but it was never an issue. It was convient to the bus we just walked down La Salle St. and over to the buses (our room was just about where the word Street is on the Map below).

LOL! No I didn't take a close up pixs of some of those ugly heads. They look kind of scary. Maybe I should next time!

Again... I apologize for bumping my pixs. I got frustrated last night because I couldn't locate my pixs and when I finally got to page... what 27 or 30 somewhere around there... I just went ahead and bumped it up so I can easily find it again! So sorry... I won't bump it again. I just got impatient last night. Forgive me my POFQ fans!

I believe the non-smoking bldgs are 5, 3, 1, 6, 7. I think 4 used to be half and half. Bldg 2 is half and half. I have stayed in bldg 5 and twice at bldg 3 at a non-smoking room. They were all on the 3rd floor.

Hi POFQ lovers!

Am getting excited about our first stay at POFQ next June, but now am obsessing over the requests I made. I requested...non-smoking, first floor, corner room...in that order. Now I'm wondering if I should add a building number to it. I know the resort is compact, so walking is not an issue, but I really don't want a parking lot view. (paying for standard view) I hear good things about building 5, but am concerned with pool noise...we're all light sleepers...do NOT want noise!

Anybody have any thoughts?
