I just read through this entire thread (o.k., it took separate readings over a few days...), and what a wonderful treasure trove for great information! Thanks to everyone who posted information and photos.

We are going to be at POFQ in late August 2007, and I'm already getting excited!

We'll be there, too! Aug. 21 - 31! Hope to see you there!! :bounce:

Hi Disneyland Mama!

We will be at POFQ the 26-29. We are also visiting relatives in Tampa and staying on I-Drive, so we'll be getting around...

Subscribing! We'll be there December 29 - January 3rd! :cool1: We upgraded from Pop (since it's just the two of us) and it's a King Size room!! Can anyone tell me about the King rooms there? The way the cm made a big deal about it, it seemed like it was a lot different than the regular rooms. :confused3

The rooms are the EXACT same size, but with one slightly larger bed versus two slightly smaller beds, you get a lot more "roominess" in the room.

My DH and I are staying here in Feb and I have a few questions. Are the king bed rooms located in a specific area? Do I need to request a non-smoking room or is POFQ now non-smoking? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We got back Monday from a 6 day trip, staying at POFQ. Liked it very much. Next time we must do the boat to DTD and the carriage ride, Im sorry we missed both. One note, if it's helpful: I guess Im spoiled by king bed at home, and worried about sleeping in a double for a week (DD14 had the other bed). We brought down an air mattress and got extra blankets and sheets. She slept on that all week and it worked out great. Put it down on floor between door and first bed, lifted it up against wall during the day. I guess its kind of lame, but it was a good solution. She didnt mind and slept well, and so did I. The DH sleeps like a log anywhere, so he was fine too!

Any questions about our stay, feel free...

As far as I know buildings 2,4 & 2 top floors of building 6 are smoking. That is why I requested building 3 or 5. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the safes in there are big enough to fit a laptop into? We'd like to take our laptop so we have a place to put pictures every night but some of the mousekeeping theft stories that have been floating around have been making me nervous! :guilty:

The safe is not big enough for your laptop. I left ours on the table every day. It never left. You could hide it in a drawer under some clothes, if you're worried, or have the front desk take care of it.

Tell John at the bar that I said hi!! lol And that he makes the best "Sunken Treasures" around!

We returned last Saturday as well! I am usually a Pina Colada girl, but when I saw the Sunken Treasure I had to try it. YUM :thumbsup2 That is my new favorite.

Are there any 2Q NS Corner Rooms? Do they have two windows?

I don't know what the set up in corner rooms but I do know that they will not be Queens. All the values and moderates have full size beds.

The corner room we had in september on the seond floor of building 7 did have 2 windows...one in the front of the room and one on the side. The extra window sure brightened the room, and it was nice. Though, the rooms were lovely without the extra windows, as well. We actually had two connecting rooms (1 corner, 1 regular) since we have 4 kiddos.

How far a walk between POFQ and Riverside?

My sister and I stayed at POFQ this past September and walked to Riverside two different times. It only took us 10-15 minutes. It is a very relaxing walk.

tkitty-thanks for your review :goodvibes. Can you tell me which building you were in? I think my dh requested building 2. Also, did you like the food at the food court? Thanks again!!

I just got back from a stay at Old Key West but we ate at the POFQ food court three times. I absolutely loved the breakfast choices: beingeits, Mickey waffles served with hot strawberries, french toast, mmmmmmm.

I also had a very good chicken parmesan here for lunch. The food court was always mildly busy. Waited behind maybe 2-3 people in line. Food was hot, fresh and very good. Loved the ambiance of the food court with all the colorful mardi gras masks.

Would definitely consider staying here for a future stay!

So there is no room under the beds...

well, just a comment on this one. We stayed at Old Key West but the bed styles are the same. It llooked like there was plenty of room under the bed so we just lifted it up and put a suitcase underneath. Friend commented that night that she felt like she was sleeping lopsided (granted this is a LARGE rolling suitcase). Then by the second night, the bed actually broke! So, I don't think that it was intended to lift them up and place things underneath. After that we just placed things between the wall and the bed . . . much safer :rolleyes1

Expect the food court to be very busy at POFQ in Jan-March as the food court at POR is going to be closed.
