I stopped by the food court at DXL in January for a salad around 6 p.m. while DS was at the pool. There was a family at a table across the room. First I notice their little girl in a highchair (about 18 months old) sound asleep, face down on the table. Then her poor mother - sitting up, head propped on her hand, also sound asleep. Now for hubby/dad. He seemed to be as content as could be eating his dinner. You really couldn't help but notice.
Mom shifted positions several times, even leaning up against dad. He didn't mind, just kept munching away. He apparently enjoyed his meal so much, not only did he finish his, but proceeded to eat mom's!
At one point the little girl started to stir and woke up crying. Mom kinda woke up, gave her a groggy smile, laid her head on her arms on the table, and went back to sleep. Dad padded her on the head for a moment and the child went back to sleep.
I finished my salad and went to the pool to retrieve DS. Back at the room, I told him about this family. After his shower, he decided he was hungry, so we went back to the food count. Believe or not (a good hour later) this family was still there.
Dad was eating a piece of pie. There was even a piece of cake in front of mom, but she didn't care, she was sound asleep. We watched while DS ate his dinner as dad finished his pie and proceeded to eat mom's cake. When we left there were still there.
Obviously this family had a hard day. Why didn't dad take his poor daughter and wife to their room, get some dinner, and take it back to the room so they could rest? STRANGE
