So I'm a little lonely today, and I was getting grumpy, and I really don't feel like studying right this second... so what better thing to do than to update the Trip Report?!?!
Day 2, Part 2:Wait... you have to pay for shots?!?
Our plan for the afternoon was to drink as far around the world as we could manage. Chris and I are not big drinkers, both of us having been drunk only twice, but we've recently become more comfortable with alcohol. One thing I find really funny about Chris is he is not an adventurous eater at ALL, but he'll drink almost anything because he just assumes he won't like it. Sometimes, he's pleasantly surprised!
We decided to skip Canada because neither of us like beer. Chris will drink beer, but I think it tastes
vile. I definitely live in the wrong city!
We headed to the Rose and Crown pub and we got something called an English Rose--- some sort of delicious concoction of various liquors and sweet juices. It was delicious, but we ended up drinking them
way too fast because they tasted so good.
I had actually never been in the pub before, but I fell in love with it. It was dark and cool, and we even managed to find seats. Fully cooled off and hydrated, we headed to France next.
I have a sincere love affair with the Grand Marnier Orange Slushes. Chris prefers the Grey Goose Lemonade ones. (Fun fact: the guy who invented Grey Goose went to my high school and he donated bunches of money.)
Okay, so Chris took this picture of me. What am I doing?!?!
I
really like orange slushies.
We were starting to feel... well... more than good at this point, but we headed onward to Morocco! Surprisingly, Morocco has some really good fruity drinks. They were kind of rude to me though because it took me a few moments to figure out how to get my ID out of my bag. I felt like they thought I was underage and was trying to scam them... I'm 24 and an old married lady, Morocco Guys. Also, we didn't get carded in France or England!
Anyway, Chris ordered some sort of lime slushie, and I got a pina colada. I found it funny that they just added a shot or two of alcohol to the normal slush. No fuss there!
Chris, demonstrating that he is, indeed, an adult, by putting his straws up his nose.
Naturally, I had to copy him.
We walked around slowly (hey, it had been a long day and our feet hurt by this point), and I needed a break at this point. I headed into the Japan store (the one with the complicated M name that I don't feel like spelling) to get my friend Becky a birthday present, and Chris headed over to get some sake.
I was picking up a Hello Kitty baby stuffed animal for Becky, as she is pregnant and she told me I could be her baby daughter's fairy godmother. (Not a religious thing or anything, just a glittery-girly-thing.) Becky loves Hello Kitty, so I just had to grab it for her. However, when I headed to the counter to pay, the girl said....
Congratulations
However, she had a rather thick accent, and I was three drinks in and feeling more than good at this point, so I didn't understand what was going on. But then she said...
Congratulations
again, and I realized that she thought I WAS PREGNANT!!!! I most certainly am not pregnant, and if I had been, I would have easily won Worst Future Mother Award at this point. If I hadn't been tipsy, I certainly would have been humiliated, but luckily I was able to brush it off. It still hurts my pride a little to think of, but I am mostly over it.
I met up with Chris again, who didn't seem to like his sake much...
and told him about my Congratulatory moment. He told me not to worry about it and just to get another drink.

I didn't want a drink though--- I decided right then and there that I
needed a Mickey pretzel. I needed that Mickey pretzel more than I have ever needed anything in my life. So we headed to America, or as Chris calls it, "Americaland."
Let me tell you, that pretzel was
amazing. I wish I could have one right now. Chris got yet another alcoholic frozen lemonade.
Chris downed his lemonade pretty quickly, and I decided I wanted to get a shot in Germany. Chris wanted one too, but I told him he wasn't allowed to because he had just plowed through his last drinks pretty quickly. I remember the line for beer/shots/pretzels being short, but it seemed to take
forever. A rather nice man in a
scooter started talking to us and wished Chris happy birthday... I don't really remember more of the conversation!
I was carded in Germany, so I handed over my ID. He gave it back to me, then poured my shot. I said thank you, and started walking away... and he called after me "Miss! Miss! You forgot to pay me!!!" Apparently, my addled brain had thought that my ID was a form of payment. I was
so embarrassed, and I rushed over to pay him. Chris and I laughed about it for the rest of the trip though!
Speaking of which, Chris ate half of my pretzel while I was in line. Jerk. The shot was apple flavored, and it went down very sweet, but left a strong aftertaste.
We decided to hit up China again for more slushies, and got the same thing we had had the previous day: some sort of sour-y thing for him, and something called a Peach Snap for me. We took it to the sitting area in Norway, and that's when we really started to feel it.
I look so sad!!
Well, I started to feel it. Chris looks pretty happy still.
There was a receipt on the table when we sat down, and at one point Chris looked at it and said "What?!?! When did I buy this stuff?! I don't even know what schoolbread IS!!!!" I gently pointed out that the name wasn't his, and he laughed for a veryyyy long time.
And then... and then he got tired.
And he asked me to take a picture of the "bat."
Jack, you're judging me. STOP JUDGING ME!
Chris headed to the restrooms, which were voted the worst restrooms in WDW by the WDWtoday podcast, so I decided that was Picture Worthy. (I wasn't in my right mind, I promise.)
When he returned, I got up and got us our sixth and seventh drinks...
(I was trying to be "artsy" with the sunglasses.)
The water definitely helped me, and I felt a million times better after I downed my bottle. Chris, however, ended up pouring half of his over his face! Unsurprisingly, I sobered up a lot quicker than he did.
When I was ready to walk, we headed out slowly and went to Mouse Gear and loaded up on stuff. I got Becky a baby's first Christmas ornament, and we got a Mickey ladle and an ice cream scooper, and the Phineas and Ferb soundtrack.
And then, well, I also got this little beauty...
Isn't she just gorgeous??!
We headed to the bus stop, and luckily didn't have to wait long for a bus. We were off to our room to relax and sober up--- we were headed to Jiko for dinner that night.
